Disclaimer: This is my opinion, you might agree, you might not. No need to bash. Please feel free to drop in your comments, but keep it civil. This post is open to RK and Madhu fans as well as Rishbala fans. I've purposely not touched the subject of Sultan and mentioned his name just once as a reference. This is a rather lengthy post, I don't do that usually, but needed those many words to present my idea. Please be patient and read it all.
Sultan fans, a sincere request, please ignore this post. This isn't meant for you.
Does he/do they deserve a second chance?
Everyone is confused whether RK deserves a second chance and can we trust him to another innings with Madhu.
The Past: What RK did with Madhu was undoubtedly wrong and horrible. There is no way to justify it either by saying that it is because of the blows life dealt him or that he very well warned Madhu to make her life a living hell. Nothing can justify his betrayal, his un-wedding.
The Present: Madhu and RK split up with the un-wedding but there is still something that binds them. People will scoff at this bond, but there is still something in their relationship/marriage worth salvaging. RK doesn't spell out his true feelings but he really repents what he did with Madhu and wishes that black night never happened when he heartlessly removed Madhu from his life. If he could, he would just remove that night from everyone's psyche, he would undo the pain and suffering Madhu went through.
Madhu, too, isn't over RK. He is in her thoughts. His mere presence in the room or across the street sends her a Morse code message and makes her react. Same is the scene with RK, they're truly attuned to each other and sense the other's presence even blindfolded.
Don't RK and Madhu deserve a second chance at happiness? Madhu has time and again proved that she is still in love with RK. She can never love anyone else. RK hasn't said it in words, but he too loves Madhu. His care, his concern was evident the night Madhu went missing and ended up at Sultan's house.
RK didn't have any hidden agenda then other than ensuring Madhu's safety. He stood at the chawl the whole night, pacing, worried about Madhu. He proved it again when that creep started bothering Madhu at the outdoor shoot. His actions and thoughts during the past few episodes prove that all wasn't revenge for him too – he went deeper while acting out the prem-game and actually fell in love/started caring for her, even then. There were times when his emotions were genuine and he had had to check himself, as has been proved by the flashbacks to various scenes one of which was the KC 2 scene.
What should RK do to make Madhu realize that his intentions are true this time around? Hand over a whip and ask for punishment? Go down on his knees, fold his hands and beg for forgiveness? Such acts will not make Madhu forgive him; rather she would be disgusted with that kind of behaviour. Madhu will never believe a verbal apology at this stage, neither would we as the audience.
People were disgusted with RK's behaviour the past week/month. His actions - abducting Madhu and emotionally blackmailing her and cuffing her raised hackles and rightly so. But, think for a moment, would Madhu have willingly gone to live with RK at his house? Both need a chance to meet and talk or be together to air their differences. How can this be possible unless they live or spend time together?
Yesterday's episode showed how RK is ready to undo the wrongs publicly. He requested Madhu's special song and danced on the street to appease her …which shows that he isn't concerned about his public image, rather wants to show Madhu that he truly cares about her. Just as he humiliated Madhu publicly, he is undoing the wrongs publicly.
Don't you think what RK is doing is right given his intentions to woo and pacify Mdhu? He needs time to show Madhu that he can change for her. He needs time to prove that he truly repents what he did with her, and if they forget the wrongs and move ahead, they can have a happy life together. A sincere, heartfelt verbal apology is needed, but now isn't the right time for it to be voiced or accepted by Madhu. RK will surely do that when it's the right time. He still has a long road to travel to appease Madhu.
Hardened criminals on death penalty also get a second chance, a chance to appeal to revert the verdict/lessen the punishment or for presidential pardon.
Is RK worse than those criminals? Shouldn't he get a second chance to live with Madhu?
