A Dream Come True
She shifted in bed, attempting to get some rest after another long, lonely night. The moon was shining light onto her face as she struggled to stay warm. Before sitting up in bed, she shut her eyelids tight as a breeze of cool air ran over her. Her eyes scanned the room as the cold wrapped around her body and made her shiver. She looked towards the swinging balcony doors and sighed as she slowly got out of bed.
She stood, tying her silk robe around herself to keep warm. Her steps directed her towards the balcony doors where she found herself staring up at the moon.
"It's amazing how we're so alike. Here I stand alone, just like you. The stars left you to stand alone in the dark night once again…"she said woefully.
She closed her eyes and took in a deep breath as the cool breeze brushed against her skin. Every hair on her body stood on end at the touch of the icy air. She crossed her arms tightly in an attempt to overlook the unwanted shivers running through her body.
A pair of soft yet masculine hands began running down her arms to wrap around her waist from behind. She kept her eyes closed as his face came to rest on her shoulder. She felt the heat radiating off his body, causing her to forget the coldness of the night.
"You're home…" she sighed in relief.
"I missed you,"he replied in a passionate voice.
His arms tightened around her. She felt her back relax against his chest as his face snuggled closer to her. She felt it had been years since she had last been in his arms, though it had only been two weeks. His job required frequent long trips away from home and his commitment was not something he could sacrifice. Ten years was the last time they had seen either of their families. After leaving the superstar's world, they had begun life from the beginning. He had promised her to take her back home once he was ready and each day went by with her waiting for him to say he was.
She felt his lips kiss the nape of her neck, causing her back to arch. She slowly turned around and rested her hands on his chest.
"I missed you too," she replied with a soft smile.
His eyes took in her face after weeks. She lowered her eyes as blush took place of the paleness in her cheeks.
His finger gently raised her face by the bottom of her chin. His passionate, dark eyes spoke volumes and she couldn't help but get lost in them. He smirked the smirk, which stole her breath.
Moments after staring into her innocent, almond eyes, he began to close in on the little space between them. He felt it inappropriate for there to be so much space between them after having been so far away from each other for weeks.
Her eyes slowly closed as she felt his warm breath brush against her lips. She inhaled his musky scent and her lips began to tremble. She had missed him more than she had thought. Her hands began to run up his chest and slowly went to wrap around his neck. His hands pulled her body close by clutching at her waist. And with that he planted his lips where they belonged, on hers. He kissed her luscious soft lips gently; allowing his tongue to explore her mouth at points. Her hands ran into his hair and pulled him closer. He moaned beneath the kiss and grew hungry, not having kissed her in so long. As they both began to run out of breath, she pulled away first. He rested his forehead against hers and allowed for both of them to retrieve the air they had lost in the kiss.
Her eyes were the first to open. She stared at his face, taking in his picturesque features as she wondered how to ask him the one question lurking her mind. She noticed a smile beginning to form on the corner of his mouth. He slowly opened his eyes and let the smile form completely. He raised his hand to gently caress her lips with his thumb.
"I missed these…"
Her heart skipped a beat and began to flutter at his sensuous words. Her mouth parted slightly to let her breath out as her heart began to race. His hand went to rest on the side of her face. Her eyes flickered when trying to stare into his intense look. Then without another thought, she pushed herself into his arms. She rested her face against his muscular chest and wrapped her arms around his back tightly. His arms responded in wrapping around her just as quickly as she had hugged him. He tightened his arms around her and rested his head in her hair.
"Please don't leave me again," she pleaded softly into his chest.
"I have to leave…but you've got me for a month."
They let silence take place of the voices in the air for a moment. She slowly pulled away and looked up at him with eyes full of tears.
"I want to go back home…"
He stared into her eyes as she begged him silently. He pulled out of her arms slowly and turned his back towards her. She shivered as she was reminded of the cold night with the removal of his arms from around her. She wrapped her arms around herself tightly.
"I can't leave now," he spoke remorsefully.
"It's been ten years…" she sighed as her words quivered with her body.
"Ten years too little…I don't know if I'll be able to tr…"
"You can trust me,"she cut him off as she continued to tremble.
He slowly turned to face her, noticing her body shaking with the cool breeze. He stepped towards the balcony doors and closed them shut before going to face her again. He took her face in his palms.
"I do trust you,"he spoke reassuringly.
"Then let's go. I miss them. Ma…I need Ma…"she lowered her eyes.
"I miss them too…but my job…I can't just…"
"I won't be alone when you leave me," she tried to convince him.
He thought about it for a moment as she eyed him, hoping for an answer in her favour. A smirk crossed his face, which caught her off guard. She raised an eyebrow, confused at his expression.
"You win. We'll go back tomorrow…but that means, tonight you're mine," he lifted her up in his arms.
Her body felt on fire as she thought about what he had planned for the night. She stared into his passionate eyes as he turned towards the bed.
"Papa?" a child's voice spoke up.
They turned to see their eight-year-old son in his pajamas, rubbing at his eyes.
"Why are you holding ma?"
"That…I…exercise Mohan!"
"Exercise?" Mohan asked confused.
"Yeah, adult kind, you won't understand."
She giggled as he smirked down at her in his arms. He then slowly placed her down on the ground in standing position. She straightened out her robe and went to kneel in front of their son.
"Mohan, why are you up so late? I thought I put you to bed."
"Ma, Riya and Roshni are crying again…"he said tiredly.
She laughed and picked their son up in her arms. She turned to face her husband who was smiling at his wife and son.
"They go after you RK, so you go to the nursery and quiet down your twin baby daughters."
"Oh that'll be easy Biwi. They'll listen to their papa!"he replied confidently.
"Sure, while you're busy quieting down Riya and Roshni, I'm going to put our little Mohan to sleep," she laughed.
"He really does go after you Madhu."
RK stepped forwards and kissed Mohan's forehead after a long two weeks. Mohan, who was too tired to acknowledge his father's presence, closed his eyes and snuggled closer into Madhu's arms.
"I missed you champ."
"I missed you too papa,"Mohan replied in a tired voice.
"Goodnight!"RK laughed.
He gave Madhu's cheek a final kiss and began to walk off as Madhu turned to watch him leave. His steps came to a stop in the doorway as he turned to face her again.
"Thank you, for making our dream of this 'cutsie family' come true. I think you're right. I'm ready to go back home Madhu."
