I agree that two psychiatrists can differ in their opinion in some cases, but a psychopath stays a psychopath. Yes, his actions are extreme, might be slightly borderline but that doesnot make him a psychopath. I am also not happy with his behavior. And went really ballistic with the nok-jhok comment.. But as he is the hero of the show, he will come around. Lets see what they re trying to show.. All of us are confused.. He's extremely insecure and then from wat he saw anybody would have deduced that there is something cooking between Madhu n Sultan. I am surprised he believed her..And then Karma is a b*%#^h.. So what he did to her came back to haunt him..I am not a VD or DD or AR fan.. Couldn't care less, all of them are tremendous actors.. But I am looking at the entire story as shown to me.. We all are entitled to our opinion, so no offense to anyone.Regarding chaining her to him, I would talk when I see it. Because if he actually wanted to hold her, he can get security guards,, there is no point handcuffing her.. But they are just trying to add drama to the drama quotient..And even the plot gets clunky at times, because Indian makers don't seek professional, guidance while making a series unlike American guys, that's why american soaps are so fool proof. And regarding the abuse part also, it doesn't qualify almost 99%, may be before the studio it could but definitely from what I have been watching. If it was an American drama we would get a clear picture..But I guess we Indians go for the drama!., that's just my take..
Now why are you putting words in my mouth? I did not say that RK is a psychopath. I used the word pathological narcissist (or narcissistic personality disorder) which is different from a psychopath. My limited net knowledge tells me that they are different and here is what I found.
- Narcissists seek attention and acceptance for it's own sake, and are miserable if they don't get it.
- Psychopaths seek attention and acceptance because it is part of a technique to get something else. Attention and/or acceptance for it's own sake doesn't matter to how a psychopath feels.
- Narcissists get very hurt when they get rejected.
- Psychopaths do not feel any emotional pain or discomfort when they get rejected.
The narcissist has a conscience, feels normal emotions and may be a person in a lot of emotional pain, even though some of them inflict a lot of damage on others. Some narcissists can also offer something positive to society. Life would not be as entertaining without comedians and actors who are narcissists trying to get attention.
The psychopath has no conscience nor normal emotions. Psychopaths and narcissists have widely differing intentions that manifest in similar behaviors.
All psychopaths are narcissists but not all narcissists are psychopaths and in my opinion from what I have seen of RK and read of this disorder in the net, he comes across as a narcissist and not a psychopath. Even amongst narcissists there are varying degrees and I hope his damage is not irreparable. Indian dramas may not be highly researched but I do hope that they show that RK acts the way he does because of some disorder and not because he is cruel, calculative and conscienceless.
