Thry are very much married until they sign official separation papers ending their marriage and the 40 Lakhs agreement, Madhu is still RKs biwi. The original contract where it states madhu will b his wife till she pays him 40 lalks is legally binding making Madhu his wife.

Marriage being incomplete is one of the underlying themes of the show... it was deliberately shown ambiguously... so that people make whatever they want of it.

No one can say with authority whether the marriage will be upheld or not if its legality is challenged. What can be said is they love each other and love is above these societal norms... What I think will happen in this epic love story 😆-> star crossed lovers who can't complete their marriage...
