RK is more jealous than love. He is unable to accept the fact that the Madhu has moved on (kind of). He was the one who ditched her, and thought she would suffer. Remember, when he laid out the plan for revenge and marriage...what he told then...if he brought her to him, then he can take his revenge at right time by taking her by surprise. He took her by surprise when he unwinded the 7 pheras (or 4 pheras). Now he wants her back at any cost, even if it involves cutting his hand etc. he wants to show her that he loves her, and then bring her back to the same level as before before probably another dumping session.

Can't bear to see the atrocity on Madhu.

I think Sultan track is there for nok-jhok scenes between Madhu and Sultan. Otherwise we viewers might be sick of just one-sided off-beat atrocities as love expressed by RK.
