RK is portrayed as what RK was supposed to be; no one candy coated his character to be a prince charming, you knew what you were getting. I'm not an RK apologist, do what you want ! :D

People do not want to understand simple logic if it clashes with the actions of their favorite. Period. The only explanation you'll get from them is "Madhu is RK's wife" or "He's madly in love with her and is just showing it in his own unique way" and worst of all "They are the original pair and hence should be together" . I mean seriously, give me a break. Is this some sort of an unknown rule that the original pairing should be the one remaining till the end? What century are these people living in?

There's a reason American shows are much more popular consisting of a sane amount of audience. The makers don't hesitate to take risks or experiment with characters and they actually care to show proper character development. I agree with all the points that you have stated. I liked RK in the beginning of the show, but now he just comes off to be a mentally unstable person. I don't care who Madhu ends up with, I'd be okay even if she's alone in the end. Atleast she'd be happy for real. With RK, it'll be like waiting for the next bomb to blast on her face at any minute. And this isn't even about Sultan and Madhu. I have come across some hideous posts and comments saying that if Sultan can get close to Madhu being a stranger, then why not RK being her husband. Help me jog my memory here but did I miss a zillion episodes or something where Sultan is trying to "get close" to Madhu? Did he grab her or hug her or held her hand lovingly or kiss her? Is this the only way left to support their argument or the actions of their favorite? By putting the entire blame on a totally different character?

I have mentioned this in another post too and would like to share it here aswell. The thing I don't get here is that what makes people, or even the CVs of this show think that THIS in anyway could be passed on as a redemption track? Authors/Producers/Directors, all these people are very well aware of the fact that the audiences these days are obsessed with "grey characters" , being mostly females and teenagers. Hence, the majority of the male characters in books, movies and TV shows consist of male protagonists to be grey shaded. It's like a norm. But not all "bad boys" are grey. I really wish people would stop using the word grey just so they could sell their story. They are clever enough to know that "grey" and "layered" are the words that sell here but only those sensible enough to understand would know the difference between the two. This show now consists of two characters which are grey. But even grey is categorized in two parts.

1. Flawed
2. Layered

I have come across so many people saying that RK is a layered character. RK's character is not layered. The proper term for him is flawed. He is a flawed character. There is a difference between layered and flawed. I really feel like issuing dictionaries on this forum. Even to the writer who apparently has tagged RK as a layered character just so people would love him more than they already do. If you give it a thought, he doesn't exactly have any proper layers or depth to him. So far all we have seen is his egoistic side. I am not going to mention the soft side here because even if there was any, it turned out to be fake. That part of RK is yet to be shown, that is if there is any. Layered would be the word I would use for Sultan's character. He's a ruthless gangster but also a strict yet caring Father. He has a dark side and a human side. He has his morals and is principled and sometimes he is impulsive. Now we are seeing a side of him which might be capable of love. Anyway these are what layers are called as far as I think. Even Madhubala to some extent is layered. She can be a friendly cat at one point and a vicious tigress at the very next moment . One word that can describe both RK and Sultan's characters is complex. They are both complex and unpredictable in their own ways.

I don't care anymore if it's RishBala in the end or SulBala. I would actually like to see some SulBala now because I want a serious break from RK's junoon wala pyaar. Last night's episode made me sick to my stomach. Dancing closely with someone does not pass as "romance" or "chemistry" . My Father flat out said that it looked "cheap" . But I guess at this point, the makers would do anything to get the much wanted TRPs. They know that majority of the people watching the show only want to see touchy feely scenes and not an actual story. If given a thought, the current track has absolutely no story at all. It's just manhandling and sexual harassment to which to my horror, Madhu has started melting. If they want to show RishBala as a couple, by all means they should go ahead. But it's the way that they are showing it happen that's bothering me. People can deny it all they want but these shows do send out a social message and media has the biggest influence on people these days!

Once again, amazing post.

Fantastic - sow ell written
You are absolutely right. This character si flawed and as Shreya has said in a comment, it's ok to watch a flawed character but not glorify it
However I would be curious to know how india. tV will manage the TRP problem. Everything emanates from it after all. For years Indian cinema had to be regressive and constrained because what sold was regressive
Indian TV is now battling that problem. There is not too much scope to push boundaries

You didn't get me !!
I said no one can really understand what a person went through !!
You had a comparative hardship, yes I'm sorry for you but I won't say I understand what you went through because only you knows it !!
I can't enter your mind, right !!
And so you can't enter RK's mind, and say what he went through is NOTHING !! 😕😕
I've met a lot of people who lost their parents at a young age, and they didn't react the same way !!
Rk was very fond of his dad, and never thought that He would commit suicide, in a way it destroyed all his beliefs !!
He considered his dad as an example, now he doesn't know whose exmaple he should follow !!
He felt rejected by all, he doesn't believe anymore in relationship !!!
It's not because you're Okay, that RK must be OKay as well !!!
It's not right to compare !!

If you don't want to change your mind, it's your own decision, but why do you want us to change our mind ???
I'm not justifying whatever RK did or DOES but I guess you never tried to understand him .. then don't say RK is a simple character !!!

@ MB

Then now try to understand why we like RK !

It's not because we like RK that we support what he did ! We just like his attitude and his personality !
I always like characters like him !
I was a big Dr House fan, and you must know that Dr House run for 8 years only because of that character !
I'm a big Jack Sparrow fan ! and Pirates of Caribbean is a movie mainly intended to children !
If these two characters didn't cause any problem, then why RK's character would ??

Because they are well-etched characters. They are intentionally spastic. Written by far superior writers.

You are free to like RK, I am not saying no. You are free to hold your view. But I would really like to ask the CVs why they are glorifying an abusive character. RK has the occassional good dialogue and the personality at the beginning was okay okay but now it has turned into something totally different.

Abusive husbands have a trend, they threaten to kill themselves if they beloved, abused wives don't come back to them. They are lovey dovey for a few days and then back to being themselves. That's not what we want to promote in the name of junoon now, do we CVs?

So okay here I agree with you, yeah CVs did a mistake, even I'm really disappointed with what happened in the latest episodes.
But you can't judge the whole RK with what happened since the revenge track, right ???

Then we should time to CVs to correct their mistake, they can't show in one episode a possessive RK with an psycho like attitude, then in the next episode a perfect husband ! It won't make sense !

You can't come to conclusion, without knowing what CVs have planned to show in the following episodes !
