A man who comes off as a tough nut to crack often has the softest side to him which he is scared to reveal infront of others. Sultan may have moved on in life, but his past still haunts him. And even though he wants to keep the good part of his memories about his wife completely intact, that one moment that cascaded down on him like a deadly waterfall and washed away his perfect life still comes back to haunt him every time he closes his eyes.
The women that added color to his life left a permanent blank spot on his soul. And what makes it worse is the fact that he blames himself for that fateful night where he lost her forever. But he doesn't want his son to feel the same way and being the caring Father that he is, he agrees on letting him be part of this year's Holi which not only leaves his son in shock, but Madhubala too. He may not want to add color to his life again, but he doesn't want to keep his son deprived of having a chance at it either.
For someone who always keeps to himself and doesn't let anyone peep into his heart or mind, he willingly opened up to Madhubala about the one person he cared the most about before Aryan entered his life. This shows that no matter how ruthless he is as a Gangster, he is still just a human being who misses all the colors in his life, the colors of happiness, the colors of love.
Sultan - A Man With A Haunting Past. He has seen the darkest times in his life, some are yet to come. What matters is how he fights through them to find his way to the light behind this dark tunnel.
