The show must go on and thus Madhubala the character moves on, holding her dignity and self-respect intact. Only the privileged ones have the time to grieve and take their sweet time to come out of the dark shell but for someone like Madhubala, it's a matter of surviving and there is no moment to waste. And, one cannot shed tears for the loss of a mirage. It no longer matters whether she loved him or not but that it was all an illusion. And, when the mist of illusion clears, the real image shines and that does not let you think much on what went wrong.
The story of this show did not start with the arrival of R.K but it started in Motihari. Padmini ran away from there with her step-daughter to protect her unborn child. And, that child was born on a film set. The child's tyrannical father was unable to kill the new born because of a man called Shamsher. The mother shed her inhibition and joined the film world to bring-up her daughters as a single mother and this happened only after Roma's eye-opening lecture. Shamsher and Roma, two complete strangers, gave Padmini a place to call home. Shamsher became the girls' father and fulfilled all the fatherly duties without expecting anything in return. Strangers formed a circle of family around Padmini and her two girls and helped them lead their life in a protected environment.
Madhubala does not become a nanny if she is shown taking care of Aryan. She is doing just what Shamsher and Roma did for her. She is touching his life, the way two strangers touched her mother's life and hers too, and is returning her debt. She saved his life because once upon a time Shamsher did that for her.
Born on the film set, she knows the show must go on and life does not wait just because someone played a love game and crushed you.
