First, I thought I'll start with how horrified and glad I was to see Deepali with a book (Gabriel Garcia Marquez!), but then Radhaji came and stole the entire show from everybody today. IMO, best one of the week so far.
Cast for today : Madhu, RK, Radha ji, Bittoo ji, Witch and the 3 poor, good-for-nothing jasoos.
Madhu comes in yelling RK's name and is greeted by Deepali who was reading with her glasses on. 😲 RK, who is not at all surprised/curious to see Madhu walking back in the house, comes down the stairs as if its just another day in RK mansion, drives Deepali out of the ring, confronts Madhu and goes into jabbering about Madhu's phone for the next 10mins.😲🤔 I couldn't understand are they being serious or are they taking a dig at DD, who is a self-proclaimed phone addict. RK takes out few thousand (four?) bucks and tells her to buy a new phone with it. Seriously RK? Witch tries to chime in and at this point, I am half-torn between having Madhu throw the money either in her face or RK's face. Madhu reveals RK's deeds to others and brags about how she had subdued them by pepper spray (errm, more like a hair spray. But do we get pepper spray in India? I would like to buy some, coz I carry Moov spray as my self-defence tool). Both Radhaji and Witch is shocked to hear this but for different reasons. RK yaps some more about poison/shackles/night spending and finally we go into the most awesome-est time this show has given us in the longest time.
Radha slaps RK and says some things that for the longest of time, I have wanted her to realize, not necessarily voice it. A mother loves her kid beyond all means and reasons but there's thin line across which love becomes blind. She didn't nurture his cruel side, but she didn't stop it from spreading like a weed either. She simply conditioned herself to live with them in the hope of reconciling with his son one day. The other day, we're talking about tough parenting in this EDT. If pure love and patronage were what Rishabh needed in his young age, then tough love was what was necessary for him when he became what he became. Instead he just slipped out of his mother's hand right in front of her eyes. And she is to blame to some or more extent.
I felt for her today. She loves her son. For the last few months, before the revenge-reveal and after, she has shown immense guts. Not an easy thing to do, when you have compromised with fate at every step of the way of your life and accepted it as your destiny. What she said to her son, what she acknowledged him to be, must be every mother's worst nightmare coming true.
And what does Rishabh Kundra do after hearing all these and that his mother is leaving for Delhi? He goes back upstairs and starts right where he left off, obsessing about the unknown guy in Madhu's life. The only thing that he did register was Madhu saying how she loathes herself for falling in love with him. Not a word his mother said, moves him. If this is not a wake-up call serious enough for him, then what will be?
