No idea... I think it's a typical saas baahu drama... I can't even be compared with Madhubala... I think people still watch saas baahu.. typical family dramas than these kinda.. amazing ones.. that's the reson for the high TRPs.. These are just my ideas.. so Balika Vadu fans, don't critisize this comment..!!

TRP audience comes mostly from tier 1 tier 2 cities and housewives/women in metros..

BV 's concept was new on Indian TV screen.. it garnered TRP.. balika vadhu..

And like any serial, people who got attached to it.. are continuing with it.. and that's a huge mass..

I don't watch it but promos on colors are easy to keep track of the story..

As i understand, the serial has promoted a lot of liberated female themes and 'modern thoughts'.. freedom of choice and life..

Plus the treatment of the show.. ending each epsiode with a message is unique..

But now, i think its more about holding on to the existing clientel ( which is already huge).. and i am guessing it isn't boring them yet..

It is certainly not a typical saas bahoo drama. Families do play a role in it, but it's not a saas-bahoo show if your example of a saas-bahoo show is a Balaji or BAG Films show. Unless you count having the character of a saas itself a saas-bahoo drama? In that case even Madhubala will qualify.
Not criticizing your cooment, but presenting a counter-argument.
@TM
It is about the main character who was a child bride and forced to leave her studies but who fought on- against mostly hostile in-laws, village elders, society- to earn an education, to become a teacher, becoming sarpanch, stopping other child-marriages happening, talking about widow remarriages in villages... well the pace of any serial slows down once it gets a few years old, but it does have an understandable story, characters with continuity and good actors. Unlike many serials, the CVs of this show did not forget what the show was supposed to be about. I guess that's the reason for it's high TRPs.
Balika Vadhu is not a typical show, when it was launched (and it was one of the earliest shows on Colors) it was a huge departure from its contemporaries. And yes, it's still going strong.

It has got boring at certain points, but I guess the characters of Ganga and Shivraj Shekhar has garnered interest again.

It's a good, well made soap.

Many things going for it - amazing concept, good cast, consistent pacing, interesting twists from time to time, path breaking ideas for the rural context... and above all the well loved character of Anandi.

It tends to moralise a bit but it promotes a lot of good things, so what the heck.

hha h a.. Love sells...everywhere...

I made this topic yesterday on why in these fights we keep bringing a man in between for MB.. and then someone replied saying.. women want this.. and his/her argument is so valid..

Men are famous because women want that ..😆..

And love has recently become the hot cake..😃 ("youth based shows"...)
