I still think the reason RK is behaving the way he is, is not because he wants to hurt Madhu, its as if he is forced to do so...he wants her to hate him without hurting herself.

When Madhu cries and he looks into the mirror he sees his own reflection and is mad at it.

RK's character has been depicted as being a one who masks his emotions in an intentional veil of contempt for everyone, but he does not intentionally hurt anyone least of all who he loves.

He keeps trying to be a bad guy but doesn't allow Dips to even come close to him or take MB's name. Even after the slap he first covered her and then dragged her out and even after that his expressions were of despair and not anger. He is mad at MB hurting herself, he is mad at her for putting herself through it.

Loved DD's expressions today, it was like she was asking him a question what about my heart...if you are so much affected by my pain, then what about the pain of her heart? It was an unsaid question very nicely conveyed.

Yes, RK's face is a book of mystery. Even though he cannot escape those expressions which he does not want to depict through the gloomy and unhappy-to-hurt eyes. His face has so many expressions at a time but the main thing is the pain to see her in all such things because of him alone.

He still has the strong feeling that she is his wife, and he cannot be happy to see his heart (biwi) to be in such a pain and anguish. But he does not want to disclose that he wants to bring her out from all such unhappy situations.

Reason may be big but RK himself is not able to fake himself and thinks himself responsible for all the sorrow looming large around both of them.

I am sure CVs will come out with this situation very soon but the pain frankly speaking is very painful for at least to my heart. I seem as if I am sinking to see all this and everyday I pray to be somewhat light mood but alas! I am not able to do it.

Sorry, but I don't agree at least with the part in bold. He isn't mad at MB for putting herself through it ... rather he is mad at the effect she is having on him or that he can't forget things he wishes to forget.

If he really didn't want to hurt Madhu, he could easily have found a way to have her removed from his movie, got her a job at another studio without her knowing that he was doing the good deed. RK didn't have to do anything further after he dissolved their marriage to make Madhu hate him. That was enough! He didn't have to go to these lengths ... and regarding Dipali, he used her yesterday and will do the same again today to belittle Madhu.

Earlier I, too, used to think that he is doing this under compulsion ... but these days I'm leaning more towards the revenge theory. Why can't we accept it?

Thanks you all for appreciating my post and thanks for the variety of comments.

I or anyone of us do not know what is in the writer's head, but one thing is certain, they want us to be confused. They show us the whole drunk scene which points solely to revenge track and then they show RK desperately worried for Madhu.

May be I am wrong but I still have faith that the CVs wont butcher RKs character so much to show only the revenge track, because only a person extremely inhumane can go to such lengths for one who saved his life only for the sake of revenge.

Liked RKs expression when he blurted out "pati hun" it was like oops!!! and he did say that "bahut dard ho raha hai, main andar se marr raha hun" my hope is hanging by bare threads but its still there.

My hypothesis... RK is very sick has a neurological disorder that will cause slow paralysis(may be like Guillain–Barr syndrome (GBS) ) and he does not want to doom Madhu's life along with his own...

As for the nay sayers I really do get the point you are making but if RK was trying to ensure that Madhu would really really loathe not just hate him, he has to be mean and abominable. He knows how much Madhu loves him inspite of all his faults and he wants to make sure that that come what may she will never return back to him ever. Well I am still holdong out the torch!

Yeah I know I am a hopeless optimist!

You guys are right, RK is so hard to read. His emotions are all over the place, it leaves the audience questioning his intentions. He confessed it was revenge in a drunken state but still some of us still believe / want to believe that it's something else.All because of his conflicting emotions ! Unless there is a greater cause for hurting Madhu, there is no way Madhu will go back to him even if she loves him intensely. Only if there is a greater cause that will make Madhu's pain and humiliation look small, will Madhu forgive RK. His cause will have to be greater and stronger than the heartbreak she went through!
