Chapter Twenty – The Emergency Button

I hadn't even calmed my nerves completely when RK suddenly barged into my room. Within seconds he had grabbed my arm and was pulling me out of the Kundra mansion without saying a word.

"Where are you taking me?!"

He continued to pull me until I stumbled over my own two feet and my ankle pain returned.

"Ow…"

He stopped, turned to look at me, and then let go of my hand. Before I could bend to hold my ankles, he picked me up in his arms and began walking towards his car.

"Where are we going RK?!"

He ignored my question and opened his car door. He placed me inside and closed the door before I could question him again. I watched as he grabbed the keys from the driver and came to sit next to me in the driver side. I questioned him on the drive but he remained silent, as though I didn't even exist. Eventually his car came to a stop and I looked outside the window to see Kundra Agency written in huge letters. I turned back towards RK as I realized he had brought me back to their building.

"Get out."

"RK?!"

I looked down at my clothes and realized I was still in the salwaar kameez from the previous night.

"Get out."

"What if I run again?"

"You won't."

"How can you be so sure?"

"After what happened last night, you won't have the guts."

I shuddered as he reminded me of the five men, but then slowly opened his car door. I stepped out and closed the door. He lowered the window.

"Adi will be waiting."

He sped off before I could respond. I walked into the building and couldn't help but feel embarrassed by what I wore in a building full of fashionable people. I entered the elevator and went up to the 12^th floor. As soon as it opened, Adi appeared. He pushed me back into the elevator and pressed the close button before anyone could see me. I watched as he pressed the main floor button and then the emergency button, which caused the elevator to stop. He took his phone out of his pocket and called someone.

"Don't panic, it's not an emergency. Turn off the alarm."

He cut the call and placed his phone back in his pocket as I stared at him with wide eyes.

"Adi?!"

He held out a package in front of me.

"Change."

"What?"

"Bro said you were coming in these clothes…for you to be accepted in the fashion industry, you have to look presentable. So change."

"What?! Here?! Now?!"

"Yeah? Why? Is there some problem?"

I raised an eyebrow to gesture towards him.

"I'll turn around. Take this."

I grabbed the package and slowly pulled out the clothes inside it. A knee-length summer dress…just like the one RK had ruined, except prettier and strapless. It was pink with a few sequins on the neckline. I knew I couldn't complain about how it was strapless, so I sighed and accepted I'd have to change into it. Adi kept his eyes on me and so I had to turn him around myself. He laughed his croaky laugh again. I quickly took off my salwaar kameez and was putting on the dress when my elbow accidently hit the emergency button again. The elevator jumped and I stumbled forwards just as Adi turned to face me. I bumped into his chest while only in my undergarments. His eyes were wide and we locked eyes until the elevator doors began to open.

"OHMYGOD!"

I panicked and he quickly spun me so that he stood in front of me. He kept me hidden as the doors opened. He turned his head to stare at the people waiting for the elevator.

"Karan, press the close door button. NOW."

I couldn't see anything but heard the door close. I sighed in relief as Adi went to hit the emergency button again. Then Adi turned to face me. Just as he was about to check me out, I gasped and brought the dress up in front of me. He laughed.

"You're so clumsy."

"Turn around!"

"Yes ma'am."

I shook my head as he turned around. This time I was away from all the elevator buttons, so I managed to put my dress on.

"You can turn now."

He turned to face me and looked me up and down.

"Not bad."

He smirked as I let my cheeks flush red.

"Now, I want to talk to you."

"Not you too…"

"I just have one question Madhy."

"No, please. I'm sick of questions."

"Just one."

He stepped forwards and stared into my eyes. I didn't even realize I was backing away until my back hit the wall of the elevator. I looked to my right and saw another wall; I looked to my left and saw an opening. Then suddenly his arm came up and blocked the opening. I turned my head to stare at him and noticed a passionate edge to his eyes as he began to close in on me.

"What…are you doing?"

He brought his face to a stop directly in front of mine.

"You don't trust me, do you?"

"I…I do…"

"Then why'd you run Madhy?"

I stared into his eyes and questioned myself. Why did I run? I thought it was because I was afraid, but as I stared into his eyes, I felt I could trust him.

"I don't know…"

"What if something happened to you?"

RK's words rang through my ears as he had almost said a similar thing to me earlier. I noticed I was losing my ability to answer his questions as his face was slowly coming closer and closer towards mine.

"You said one question…"

He looked my face up and down. Then I watched as he let his playful smile cross his face and he pushed away from me and the wall.

"You're crazy. Promise me you won't run again?"

I didn't have any intention of running away anymore. I knew the safest place for me was probably with the Kundra brothers.

"I promise."

"Good girl."

He hit the emergency button and the elevator jumped again. This time I stabled myself against the wall as Adi kept his eyes on me. He picked up my salwaar kameez from the ground just before the elevator doors opened. Then when they did, he turned to stare at me again.

"Ready for your first day?"

Whoaaa... Whaaattt on earth is up withvthese two brothers...??????
I tried guessing how Madhu fits into the picture.. and why the brothers kidnapped her..!!! And with every update.. you always prove me wrong Pritt...!! Heheh...
