Kindly do not merely skim the surface and take offence. What she meant is, if a woman is 'promised' or 'convinced of' 'marriage', before seeking physical intimacy, that is, she gets intimate with the man believing ,without any doubt, that the relationship will end in marriage, then it is considered along the lines of Rape.

Because, if she didn't think there would be marriage , she wouldn't have consented for physical intimacy. In essence she would have been duped into sharing her body.

(we aren't talking about regular run of the mill break-ups, or one-night-stands where both the parties know the deal.. Besides , it's in Indian law. It IS a fact. now how do you argue about that?)

no one knows if this is actually the plot or not. we are all speculating on the possibilities here..

deepak you are not getting the fact right... where is trust involved in one night stand?
that is consentual with no promises involved... that is not the case here. she is submitting to him coz she trusts him... he is raping her trust...
don't you think a rape that involves someone you trusted leaves deeper scar than a random attack?
won't you feel deeper about the broken promise of a friend than a stranger who promises you something and cheats on you...
