Physicians have to be well rounded. Know how to reason and work under pressure. It is hella stressful. They are looking for an articulate individual who knows more than just science (that is what we are taught in school). One can be a music major and still become a physician as long as they demonstrate interest in medicine and the traits the committee is looking for.

so they need an allrounder more than a physicians. well i don't know it is better or not.

we don't have any such system, just get admission purely on marks. but sad corruption is also there. i mean people give huge money just to increase little marks, and get better college, it makes everything even more hard for us.often deserving one suffer.

I do not know if it is better for the students applying. Many people spend thousands of dollars trying to get in, only to drop out halfway through the process. Certainly works in favor of the system i.e. only a student determined enough gets in. Corruption & mark inflation are serious issues & I shall refrain from commenting since I do not know the half of that problem. Good luck to you :)

wastage is money is always a problem as almost each application form costs around 1000-2000 rs and we apply for a lot of exams.imagine an all india exam, each state with its own exam, some, no almost every reputed medical college with its separate exams. quite hectic but from this year, state are combing with all india exam but reputated one are still conducting alone.

i think we can continue this useless discussion some other day.😆
i think i should sleep for 3 hours as its currently 4:00 a.m.
sorry for killing ur time.

Hey! My sutiemate and I just had a huge discussion about people, diseases, countries, governments, the delhi incident, and human nature itself. So I just read this, and it makes me think life itself is such a huge battle ground, it is survival of the fittest. So life is a battle that you obviously loose because you die, but I guess whether you win or not, depends on how you lived you life, and what you accomplished (does not have to be on a great scale). So diseases such as this I guess makes the battle even more challenging, both physically and mentally, they are few fortunate people who surpass this, and few who don't. Its all about how you lived your life, how do you look and it, and whether you are happy with what you have done (self-satisfaction). Thats what I see in Madhu's dad, hoped to live but again he is going to loose the battle because we all loose the battle, but he did accomplish things in life, and he is also helping Madhu even while he is going away. I guess its RK's turn to progress thorough that state. Time will only tell if he is one of the few fortunate, or one of the unfortunate. Great Update! Its so sad, but very insightful for people to understand what the people that go through it feel, and what the people around them feel.

PS: I don't even know if half the stuff I said made any sense, I just typed as I thought.

Intense. I never thought I had the ability evoke strong responses from people. This is great, I can be an internet agony aunt.
(dry humour, don't mind)
Will take some time for me to dissect. Hold on.

I have been to funeral services and I think it is ridiculous the way mourners make the family feel. The last service should be a celebration of life not a cry of loss. I agree, it is not about how you died. It is about how you lived your life. The father means a great deal to his daughter, he has been fortunate enough to plan his end & hopefully, has made the most out of the situation. RK, is but human. He is no saint, no glorified cancer hero who is selfless and pure. He wants to live and he will bend over backwards for a chance at normalcy. His money has bought him pills, physicians & even an organ. He is missing affection, he is missing life. Hope he finds what he looking for. I agree with most of what you said.
