"The bond that links your
true family is not one of
blood, but of respect and joy
in each other's life" ~Richard
Bach~
Starting with Padmini's
Mehendi and Sangeet, the entire
week seemed to be one big
roller coaster ride of emotions
and entertainment for all. It was
good to see the Malliks, the
Kundras and the Bhatias, in
one frame enjoying the
celebrations as one big happy
family for a change.
Besides
the
entertainment quotient, the
highlight of the week of course,
was the challenge between
Madhubala and RK, as to who
would be the first to confess
their love in public. RK's clever
ruse of engaging the family to a
game of Antakshari, in order to
voice his feelings first was truly
filmi style. The medley of songs
starting with "kaate nahi" from
the movie, "Mr. India", was a full
'paisa wasool' segment, giving
us a rare Rishbala dance.
The CVs indeed paid a lot of
attention to details in an effort
to maintain the continuity in
Rishbala's love journey.
Madhu's supposed anger at RK
and Rishbala's ensuing sizzling
"Dori" romance was an "awww"
moment, raising my romantic
expectations. But RK's
"Kaminawala" promise amidst
"Ishqwala Love" brought me
back to earth in a jiffy. Totally
enjoyable to the boot!
The telephone convo between a
sullen RK and his Biwi was very
cute. Him trying to sound
nonchalant and not confess to
missing his Biwi, even as Madhu
tells her husband to look at the
moon and remember her, was
mushy and had me smiling the
entire segment. Although for a
minute my happiness was short
lived, before I realized that Ballo
shooting Shammo and Paddy
was in reality Paddy's
nightmare. It was truly an
emotional roller coaster "bemisal
budhwaar" episode.
Two
beautifully
executed
scenes
between
mother and
daughter were awesome, with
Paddy voicing her fears to
Madhu, and Madhu in turn
assuaging her mother's fears. It
was a treat to watch the
Choudhury sisters dressing their
mother in her bridal finery.
I was truly impressed with
Roma's intuition regarding
Trish and her investigative skills
to tracking Ballu to his film
studio. It was fearful to witness
Ballu's preparatory celebrations
to gate crash Paddy's wedding,
and wreak havoc with
everyone's lives. Wonder what
fate has in store for Roma, as
she was caught unawares by
Ballu.
It was reassuring to know that
RK figured out the Balraj (BSC)
connection to Madhu, although
from the pre cap, it seems that
RK is waylaid by Ballu's goons
and beaten unconscious. Last
but not least, it was a treat to
watch Ballu, gatecrash the
wedding with his armed men in
a "kamina' mode.
"Some
family
trees
have
beautiful
leaves,
and some
have just
a bunch
of nuts.
Remember, it's the nuts that
make the tree worth
shaking." ~ Unknown ~ Balraj
Singh Choudary is one such
villain that we all love to hate.
Balraj and the Bhatias add
enough spice to "Madhubala –
Ek Ishq Ek Junoon" and make it
even more worthwhile to watch
the show.
Looking forward to seeing the
wedding "dhamaka" that Ballu
had planned for Paddy and
Shammo. And not to mention
the filmy style "Sholay" inspired
surprises that the CVs have in
store for us. The CVs, the cast
and the crew deserve a standing
ovation for outdoing
themselves every episode.
