part 19-

madhu was staring blankly at nothing . she was trying hard to remember that voice. rk was looking at madhu as he had figured out that it was related to her. now the police was tapping their conversation.
caller : hello madhubala are you there?
no response.
caller : so how are you??
rk : (enraged) where is annie??
caller : calm down man. your daughter is safe till now.
madhu : balraj chaudhry.
rk instantly recognised who he was. he remembered what madhu had told about her biological but cruel devil father.
caller : kammal hai!!! even though we are meeting for first time, you recognised my voice.
i must say your daughter has her mother's voice. just like you.
madhu : please don't do anything to her.
caller : now let me talk to my son-in-law.
rk : what do you want??
balraj : aah!! the main question. (laughs) what do i want??
rk : i am ready to shell out any amount that you say. but release my daughter first.
balraj : think about it again young man!!! i want something as precious as your little daughter.
rk : there is nothing more precious then her.
balraj : ok . i want my daughter in exchange of your daughter.
madhu flinches at his words . perhaps she knew that he was going to ask for her.
rk : what??? madhu !!! never.
balraj : think about it . there will be car waiting at the dump factory near ranjit singh petrol pump. that car will take her to annie.
rk : but how can i be sure that you won't do any harm to annie??
balraj : nice question. as soon as your wife will reach us a car will drop your daughter at same place.
think about it again...and yes no policemen cause they never like me.
then the phone cuts of at other end.
rk didn't knew what to do. he didn't wanted to lose either of them.
madhu : i have to go rk.
rk : (pulls her) are you serious. you know he can ki...
madhu : kill me. what if he had done that years ago when he had actually planned all this? think about annie. i want her to be happy with you.
rk looked at madhu and didn't knew what to say. he always wanted her to say this but not in the way she was compelled to say it today.
rk : ok we will go tomorrow.
madhu : we??
rk : now don't think i will let you go all alone.
that night was the longest ever for everyone there. madhu and rk both knew why he had called her but they were just reassuring themselves. rk had called his high security officials to further help them as it was now a matter of annie as well as madhu's life.they tried to be in touch with balraj again but in vain.
next day-
madhu came to rk . she was wearing her watch. rk looked at herat smiled reassuringly though he himself didn't knew what was going to happen next. madhu came forward and hugged him. tears were brimming in their eyes.
madhu : i love you.
rk : i love you more than my own life (he then kisses her on forehead).everything gonna be alright.
madhu : (nods) you,annie and me.
madhu ,rk ,bittuji and two security personnel in casuals go to balraj's desired spot. they see two cars there . one of the person had held annie on gun point. annie starts to cry after seeing them. madhu slowly starts to move towards another car. she once turns back to look at the face of rk and annie for one last time. then she musters courage and sits inside car. as soon as she sits inside someone puts a damp cloth on her face and everything blacks out.
as soon as madhu sat inside the car. the other two speed off leaving annie behind.one of rk's security personal rush after them.
rk rushes to annie and hugs her. little annie is petrified and afraid to talk.
rk : annie are you ok??
annie : (looking towards blank road) mumma!!!
rk : madhu will be alright.
annie then gives a note to him. it was from balraj. it said that he would complete the task which was left uncompleted years back.
rk : (burning with anger) only when hell freezes over!!!
(to bittuji and other security personal) take annie home safely.
at balraj's den :
madhu wakes up to find her hands tied up . she tries to get up but fails due to a wound on her feet. and then she sees him - her so called father.
balraj : madhubala!! (lifts her face) eyes just like padmini.
madhu : (spats on his face) don't you say her name with your dirty tongue.
balraj : (slaps her ) shut up!!!! now i know why you are called reason of my destruction.
madhu : you yourself are it's reason. had you respected maa and didu, this would have never happened.
balraj :(yells) oh that b****h!! she broke my trust . because of her i always thought that you - reason of my destruction was dead. but i wasn't aware that her filth was alive and had a dirt of her own . until i read it in newspaper.
madhu : (laughs) that's why i am rather glad that i don't have a father like you.
balraj : enough!!! now lets do want i had been waiting for.
he pulls madhu by her hair who shrieks in pain.
then he points his gun towards her.
balraj : now get ready for next birth madhubala...any last wish.
madhu closes her eyes and sees a picture perfect family of her, annie and rk in front of her eyes. she wants to live het last moment with them.
1...2...3...shot!!!!
suddenly she hears a gunshot but doesn't feel any pain. she slowly opens her eyes to find balraj lying on ground with a bullet in his head. and then she looks at someone standing in front of her. - RK.
