I also think the Hug was genuine not formality, He actually wants to patch up with Malik, Rk can't loose his Biwee at any cost so want Malik by his side...

Also Rk can't see Madhu sad, He said meri biwee ka dil mat todiye ga

I agree. RK's way of saying Thank you. What I also found sweet was that when Madhu got a little worried that RK shall insult Malik again he promised her he wont insult Malik. He hugged Malik for his biwi's sake..

Yea I think by finding out abt Malik and Madhu's past, RK respects Malik and that hug was genuine...not fake..not mocking...
