Brilliant Episode!

RK-Malik's confrontation was epic. Hats off to both the artists.

I don't know who will find Malik's actions/reasons justified… but if there is one person who will surely defend Malik, it will be RK! RK understood anxiety and impatience of a father to rescue his child from the depths of hell as Malik sees it. To know a man who can go to such extends for a child who is not even biologically related must have replenished some faith in humanity for RK. As weird as it sounds today Malik earned himself immense respect from RK. My heart went out to both the men… one a helpless father, when he wonders how this monster managed to make space in his daughter's heart and the other a man who knows he doesn't deserve the goodness of his wife. Though the confrontation began with gimmicks of the RK, the super star… somewhere down the line he was humbled because infront of him stood a man who cared two hoots for his stardom and the power that came along. A father bared his heart out to RK… will RK be able to do that when required? He better! After all that RK has done to Madhu primarily and her family, he owes them an unconditional apology to begin with if he wants Madhu in his life for good. Will he be humble enough to ask a father hand of his daughter… a daughter he has wronged? I hope so. He already has won Madhu over… it is easy to say he doesn't need anyone approval. But I wish RK is large hearted than that.

One scene that truly defined the confrontation was Madhu interrupting it. It was so obvious that she matter the world to both the men. Malik's secret is safe with RK… I always thought he will hide if for Madhu, which he will… but he will also hide it for a father he finds justified. But then what will Malik do after going home? Drop the plan of killing RK or earn money to free his daughter or plan the next attack? And what is RK going to do? I feel he will look to set Madhu free. What really needs to be seen is will he allow himself to get selfish? Or will he let Madhu go even after knowing he has become an integral part of her life as much as she in his? Or will he start making amends which is a tough task for the love of his life?

A spl mention for the RK-Madhu scene… I just went awww.

Soundarya,

With you there. Ditto take from my end.

I was gripped in the episode, with only these things making me raise my brow or laugh or get irritated:

I laughed at:
Raza Murad (Kukku Bhatia) singing the Sherawali eulogy. Even Radhaji was looking at him in wonderment.
Then the way Sikki danced ...
Then the way Shamsher lifted the quilt to check if he was not seeing RK's apparition which was being happy at being saved. Didn't he just stab him ?
God ! Shamsher was truly on nervous edge, 🤣

I got validated:
when Shamsher said...RK Maskhari tu karta hai. Main Dileri karta hoon. So after all Shamsher did say that he likes being a HERO with all that courageous act of the Knight, SD dancing at that Even RK bestowed Knighthood status on Shamsher 😆
Okay enough of my joke. The seriousness of the situation will get lost. SD ki maskhari band.

I got super irritated
Dipz and her saree drama !!!! 😡 Again ????????? What's wrong with that woman ? Did she know that Shamsher was just standing at the window trying to listen to her ???🤔

And I was open-mouthed
at the plot clunkiness for RK to say, he heard what his Biwi said in the hospital and how Biwi smiles at that knowledge. Hai!!! It was such a lovely moment, that I can forgive all the plot clunkiness So this is the only best thing that's going to be before the separation scene.

What I loved best was of course RK and Shamsher scene, The three options given and Shamsher picks up the third one to explain to RK albeit clubbing with the first option of wanting to end RK still in tact. The man to man talk was heart-felt.
I liked RK just listening out to a father. And then he is so moved by the fatherhood that he even starts to think of Madhu from a father's eyes. He understands the father's intentions and what his daughter means to the father and what actually is the daughter. RK already knew that the daughter lives for others and is self-effacing. But he is also surprised through the father's eyes as how easily Madhu could make a place for RK in her heart. I was almost waiting to hear what he would said about that feeling when Madhu interrrupted them. Bad!!

Today RK learned Shamsher speaking of Madhu having golden heart and having small dreams. I guess something from the future events will make him want to provide big dreams to Madhu

Who knows what will happen tomorrow...

My only wish again ...Please don't create unpleasant and cliched misunderstandings between Madhu and RK. Let the separation come up naturally as the logical end to Shamsher drama and his feelings. Because honestly killing is madness. Somewhere this revenge drama has to end so that story can move in better direction.

Siri,
She would have surely liked the episode.

And Preet,
She surely would like the confrontation between Shamsher and RK. I know, many would like it.

Hey SD I hope everything is good at your end. Take care.

About the episode, agree with you guys it was an epic one. Loved Rishab and Madhu chat on the stairs. I was a little shocked that he had heard Madhu. But it was an Aaw choo chweettt moment for me. RK s expression were just amazing

and the next best scene was of course Rishab and Shamsher confrontation. Just loved it. Yes. I am sure and confident that RK will not tell Madhu about Shamsher. He would not want to hurt her. Especially after knowing Shamsher he has now. Respect for that man. And I think it will be the guilt that will make him send Madhu aaj to Shamsher. RK will not fine hopelesslove worthy of his biwi. But that is too extreme for now. Enjoyed the show and what on precap :O

SD - I'm so glad to see you back here and to know that everything is okay. I was happy to hear updates from Sonu in last night's thread letting us know you were doing well. It was scary sitting here just seeing the news reports!

I too forgive the plot clunkiness you spoke of in the RK/Madhu scene because it was so sweet. I honestly hope that this seperation comes about naturally as well. I hate stupid misunderstandings and feel like that's a lazy way to bring about a desired result. I'm really hoping that this separtion comes about authentically and a bit more naturally than that.

And I most definitely LOVED that confrontation. How well you have come to know me. There was so much gold in those scenes. There's so much I want to say about the Shamsher/RK confrontation but my work day has left me with a major headache and I can't even begin to put all the thoughts I'm having into coherent sentences.

Absolutely right. The expressions on both their faces was one of fear that she may have heard and concern for her, and their love for her more than apparent. And Madhu's expression when she saw them...the tension on her face...confusion...hmmm, how are they going to explain themselves. She is not a fool herself.

Shruti, Zoya and Preet.

Yes, am all well. We should now be concerned about the NJ girls, like Siri. It is serious out there. The state declared a federal disaster for itself. So not sure when they will have all services restored.

Now coming to episode... you know I enjoyed the episode so much that I was happy not analysing it much. And I hung out in FQ's post today. And unwittingly I got dragged into discussing some episode elements that ACTUALLY are FODDER for us. 😆

So let me get you the tit-bits from there

RK-Madhu Staircase scene (in FQ's MB Verse it is now an Infinitycase 🤣)
While we all went gaga over the scene, imagine FQ giving a A for the scene. Incredulous. Wasn't it? So we asked her 😆 And this is her explanation

>>>>>>RE the infinitycase scene: I liked if because only consider how bad it could so easily be-- they could have gone down the entirely predictable route of RK vs Madhu and mutual suspicion or even worse, given RK a surprise lobotomy so he didn't consider Madhu as a suspect. this way, he retains a calculative brain, and dismisses madhu on the basis of evidence. Re the medical fact of what makes for "life" and consciousness-- I am sure scientists amongst us will agree that the ECG is not a reliable way of determining this. (A mould of jelly can be proved to be alive if one were to use EEG evidence).
So I approved of that scene and performance wise VD pipped DD by some margin. I think DD read the tone of that mock confession incorrectly. Nonetheless, and especially considering the show's track record of unmitigated anviliciousness, quite good.

Over Shamsher-RK confrontation scene
By Leela
>>>>The Shamsher scene probably had even more impact for RK than most because with Kukku as a rearing-father example, Shamsher being an obsessively murderously protective father-figure is likely to warm the cockles of RK's heart into unmerited leniency. Sincerely hope not, but 'provoked into murder-attempts' apparently is better or at least on par with 'provoked into vicious slander'. Sorry, really wish I had your aptitude for humour to put that better, but Mallick trying to murder someone for the third time even with the knowledge that the person has made a place in his daughter's heart has me completely confounded.😕

By FQ responding to Leela
>>>>Leela: the only thing that makes Malik acceptable if he is seen through the lens of the deewana, or the junoon. Which, RK does with great perspicacity, almost saintly detachment. Because guy had just been attacked. Thrice. Rk may indeed be as superhuman as he claims to be.
Or, as you say, the Particular reasoning that drives Malik appeals to him -- that of the obsessively protective father, which appeals to the lad suffering from issues of abandonment. Agree completely.

By SD - continuing on the "confounded state of the viewer + Shamsher"
>>>>>btw...the word confounded in that previous post of yours made me watch the scene again. And this is what I felt. I mean I understand his junooni love for his daughter...but then why the junooni madness when each time RK talks about him being his daughter's husband ? Now that puzzles me.

RK says, "Pativrata Patni ban gayi meri nazron mein." Shamsher tries to assault him again. Look at the hatred or anger whatever it is he has for RK for becoming his daughter's husband.
But then RK's ringing voice and his piercing eyes stopped Shamsher in his madness track. Now Shammu is confounded. Don't know what Shammu must have read in that eyes. To me RK's eyes were quite fearless of Shammu and looking very bluntly at Shammu. He himself is guy with extreme emotions and may be Shammu got that feel. May be that confounded Shammu. No? Maybe that's why that fearlessness makes him talk about his like for daring feats (dileri) and then that blunt look at him from RK makes Shamsher go for revelation of his pain, that it hurts him because his daughter gave place to RK in her heart. Now how that make any sense. Scratching my head here !! 😕

FQ's response to that
>>>>To me it is the sexual component of marriage. RK knows and WE know it is non-existant (alas) but Malik doesn't. Rk plays it for the reaction, Malik reacts.

And read the exploration into Shamsher further - FODDER MATERIAL

Shamsher as the Father - Yet another Failure for a Father
By napstermonster
>>>>I'm brand new to the forum, and to this show (IPKKND is my old stomping ground) so please pardon this if its a repetition of something that has been observed. I have been watching older clips and what stuck me today, is that this show is basically about, parents, and rising above the crap they inflict on you.Perhaps even, about learning lessons on what not to do from their actions, and recovering from them--not your usual "maata-pitah ijjj alvayyyss mahaan" line. if you look at the damage that fathers have done--and in this context, I speak of all the fathers on this show, they have been directly responsible for the crippled psychological state that their kids are in. Damaged children through the choices of the fathers--and in this, aside from Madhu and RK I would include Sikki as well-- that seems to be the common denominator.

What I saw in Shamsher today was the final nail in the Daddy-Issues coffin for me. If he understands Madhu's feelings, and if he realizes that his daughter has fallen in love with this man, the fact that he is trying to kill RK is now because of his own pride, and hatred, indifference and ultimately, selfishness. Love plays no part in this--and I dont say that because the thought of hurting a man who looks like that is sacrilegious, though, of course, it is.

Each emotion that Shamser is feeling, that has led him to fashion a dildo out of ice is something every other horrible dad has felt in this show so far---Indiifference towards a very intense young son, something that RK's dead dad must have felt while killing himself, or the evil of Madhu's real dad, who hated his daughter for being born, or Kuku, the Colors Channel's bitch-slap-to-the-face answer to Walt Disney's wicked step-mother trope.

I just hope that the damage that his dad's abandonment has inflicted is not taken to the extreme here--that RK realizes that by trying to kill him, Shamsher is feeding his own ego and need for revenge, and not acting out of any concern for his daughter. Shamsher is as much of a damaging father figure now as RK's own was for RK. He needs to pay, even if that payment is by acknowledging that he has "lost" his little girl to the man he despises, and finding himself helpless in the face of her love, and regretful for having done any attempts in the first place. Then of course, he can use that dildo.

FQ's response to napstermonster
>>> Agree. Agree. Agree.

And thanks for bringing in poor Sikki and Kukku into the fold of this discussion.

Re Malik, however, I would also like you to consider the recent trauma he has been through: not just the physical hurt, but the ritual emasculation. He, a stunt man, who prides himself on his physical prowess, was beaten up to a ragged pulp. Then, and Malik sees and articulates this more than ANYONE else ( in fact, no one else even refers to it) RK takes his daughter. In Malik's eyes the imagery is that of rape. Of despoilation. Invasion.

And this is a psychological assault on his masculinity. He reacts, not cleverly, but as directed by his testosterone, which has been making idiots of men a lot longer than Malik has quoth a filmy dialogue. Clearly, his decision making is severely affected by this loss of mental equilibrium.

Not surprising that he fashioned a knife to kill RK. First the huge-ass scimitar of serration in the hospital, and then the dildo of ice... He wants to physically assault RK, to penetrate his defenses in much the same way he has seen his daughter, and through her, himself despoiled.

Should we see this logic be ratified by RK? Ideally, no. But to RK this obsessive behaviour is justified, even honourable. I fear he won't be marching Malik off to the nearest shrink any time soon...

They're all pretty damaged, aren't they?

by SD in continuation
>>>>Leela, You might remember my post in Shamsher...the hero. FQ talks about the same. The masculinity complex...the physical prowess. I had given reasons while discussing with Doves how even the power/wealth status of RK unsettles Shamsher so much that he adds up all his failures of life and attributes it to the likes of RK. And FQ now has given an extension to the man about why he wants so much to lay his hands on this powerful man. Baser instincts in all of this through that sexual imagery. OMG!! this is what I depicted in his character, albeit through use of power and money factor which is another way to understand him, his basal way of looking at things, not capable of higher mental reasoning.

By FQ
>>>>SD Re Shamsher: agree, the money, power, success and sexual conquest of his daughter-- all aspects of his emasculation. which also strips him of his honour ( perhaps he should have seen the RK's loan as a debt of honour according to some reckonings) and good sense. BUT he can argue that the debt would not exist except for RK's petty cruelty.
