Aww thanks...Yea we just heard from them...they are safe and they have power which is incredible bcz NY is devastated right now...

Edit: Just read that Atlantic City is under water

Yeah I'm glad it's not that terrible, even though it has caused much damage...example Atlantic City...

Also I'm glad your family's okay! I'm surprised they have power, 3.1 million people don't. 😕

Hope everyone is safe and sound in nyc and all of the affected areas by hurricane sandy.

i really hope and pray everyone listened to mayor bloomberg's evationation orders and had gotten away from the danger zones.

im so scared of going back to nyc on thursday...i really hope everyone is fine and everything is normal

Yea I'm surprised as well...my cousin just facebooked me...

I know! This one has caused way too much damage...

OMG just read abt the NYC hospital generator...I feel so bad for all those patients right now...Praying for them.

By thursday it should be calmed down! They'll be cleaning up and fixing all the damage by then.

And there are some people who refused to evacuate unfortunately...hope they're okay.

That's really good. It did cause too much damage.

I've been worried all day, because a close friend of mine from NY hasn't replied to me all day, and usually does within minutes. I've been thinking positive though, he's alright...I hope.

And yes, the hospital news is devastating. All those patients who were on life support...They probably didn't make it...

Praying for everyone's safety.

I live in Canada and the winds starting blowing hard about an hour ago. Have flashlights and emergency stuff ready.

The worst part about a storm - for me - used to be the loss of electricity. Mom used to need an oxygen machine when sleeping. I was always afraid the power would go out at night and I would not know. many sleepless nights!

So I understand the fear at the NY hospital. praying for them and everyone tonight. Ameen.

Yeah, it's picking up...I'm glad you're prepared! My parents went out and bought emergency supplies earlier today. I hope everyone else is prepared like that too.

@PrittB, where do you live? I live in NY and very scared because I thought it finished, but heard the main hurricane is going to come at 8 am in the morning here. If it was already so scary in evening & now then I wonder how it will be in the morning when the actual hurricane comes...

I live in southern Ontario, we're starting to get the winds from the storm. They're picking up, the trees outside our house have started hitting our windows.. I hope you're all okay. I don't think you should worry anymore, it's supposed to have passed and become a tropical storm by morning.
