Just because most women are screwed up little bags of pettiness and hurt egoes does not, IMO, give us the right to dismiss feminism. Thinking that when women run the world things will be so much better is as stupid a position as denying women parity with men. And people who contend this are immature and lacking in intellect. Stupidity and pettiness is rampant in our species, amongst both sexes. Men struggle against social constructs of masculinity, as women struggle against social parameters of femininity. The fault lies with our inability to update social mores with social reality, as Habermas pointed out several decades ago.

Much of this fault has hitherto lain with organised religion, which rather than being about GOD/s has been more about maintaining status quo for those in power. To garble a famous Nietzsche aphorism: the last christian died with Christ etc.

And as I said in an earlier post, the power imbalance between the sexes has been so skewed for so long that concerted movements like feminism are required to correct it for people like me, for example. Only a century ago a person like me, and indeed, people like you would have been burnt at the stake. Let us never forget that and take for granted the rights some of our very brave sisters won for us after facing immense social ridicule, most of it from women.

Witness the two spammers on this post, indulging in classic bullying behaviour. Will a perfectly equitable social system bequeath them with wisdom and restraint? No. Social systems change, fools remain.

However, what we can change is our reaction to them. Bhoomi, FG, it is useless arguing with irrational beings; we have no language in common with them, even as they state themselves. Let us take them at their word, however ill-spelt it might be, and ignore their intrusion.

EML, you are young and impressionable but show immense maturity, which I learnt by how well you took my suggestion the other day. You must have learnt that you will not be popular with everyone and that is absolutely OK. I salute you for standing up to bullying.

SD, you are a goddess, what can I tell you except carry on! being! Awesome!

FQ - I don't how and why you've read critical theory, but it is such a relief to be able to talk about it! Thank you.. @ trying to reason - I figured I'd give it a shot. After all, we didn't do a thing to deserve it.

SD - Rockstar! Enough said. Thanks for not dismissing my ideas...

EML - Thank you for standing up for us to people who you've probably known for much longer. It means a lot.

B, Gold fish that I am, I know when to keep my mouth shut. Thats why you see no comments re the same issue... But I enjoy it and take it as a learning opportunity.. 🤓
