That one line from Maddy and you know that your guess was right yesterday. Maddy is not a crybaby and surrendering to Rishabh does not mean surrendering to his kuttapanti and kameenapanti. She was taking in Rishabh's abnormal subtle wickedness , how he is , how low he can go and how she is going to chart out life with this ' badaa jaanwar ' ( Yippie! Abb to writers bhi maan gaye ki wo ek jaanwar hai aur mera naam binaa baat badnaam kar rakhaa tha use ye sab bulaane ke liye) . She was in pain, in shock, in turmoil and that by no means , means that she is a fallen duck. (so true, everyone has limits and her is her mother she behaved like a daughter should )
We had read Maddy correctly ' For Maddy , Rishabh and her wedding with him is a commitment , of not just 40 lacs , but of her word to him and his promise to her. For all the emotional and powerful convincing of her Chaudhrain Mom ( lagtaa hai Blalu waapis aa rahaa hai , tabhi yahaan bhi blood mein boil aa rahaa hai) ' Maddy had just one sentence to say ' " He saved Maalik's life by giving 40 lacs and I gave him my life. Nothing is going to change that and nothing will. I am committed to him by my word and come what may I will stand by my promise. That by no means, means that am going to crumble under him and his antics. The moment he crosses his limits , whenever he does it , I will put a leash on him."
If this is not strength of character and strength of spirit , what is? Maddy could have easily gone out of Rishabh's house and Rishabh could have done nothing because he only trusted her words. Maddy could have behaved like a crumbling cookie and told her Mom that this 2.5 mg of dropped sindoor and this 500 mg mangalsutra along with Rishabh's kuttapanti are her destiny. But no, she did not say that ' she simply held her head high and said that this marriage is her part of the deal and she is going to carry out this commitment all her life because this is her promise to a man , no matter how villainous , who saved the most important man in her life ' Maalik. But this promise is of surrender to him as a wife , not as a victim to a predator. If she has to tackle Rishabh , she will do it . If she has to deal with him one- on-one, she will do it . But she will always let Rishabh know, what limits and boundaries mean.
Like we said, cowering to Rishabh and being a meek suffering kitten to his madness and his unexplained angst will not help this relationship. That way , he will finish both himself and Maddy. Tap into him, fight him, nurture him, rebel against him, slap him , embrace him ' do anything but don't let him run his wild horse on his own.
When Maddy goes charging to his room to thrash him for insulting Paddy , you know that this is the fiery tigress you need .Its always predator v/s. predator in a battle. Rishabh is lucky ki ek aur kantaap nahiin chadh gayaa use. Zaroorat nahin thi,madam Maddy ke words kisi missile se kum nahiin the. When she tells him that he deserved and deserves the crap that she gave him, when she talks about humiliation and honour ' she rakes up something inside him. Especially that ' you deserved what I did to you' whack. It provoked him, angered him, poked some old angst inside him and since he could not punch Maddy , punching bag ki bajaa daali aur wo punching bag , apne owner jaisa kameena , almost hit Maddy.
I am superglad that Maddy bajaaoed Rishabh in the end . Not because I feel he needs to be thrashed. Its because, you have to keep hitting him, cutting him, poking him until he crumbles and lets it out. Let out what? Well, the venom that has made him what he is.
Its weird but when Maddy was blasting Rishabh, his reactions were to Maddy but his mind was somewhere else.
Coming to Rishabh, he was vintage Rishabh Kundra today ' bags of insults for Paddy , repeated emphasis on his ownership of Maddy . I don't know why he talks about legitimacy , illegitimacy , reference to ' mother' in a demeaning way so much. And its wrong if we say that he has no respect for relationships ' the fact is that he 'detests' relationships.
Anyway, Rishabh and Maddy were on fire today. Aaj to lagaa ek doosre ko ghoor ghoor ke hi khaa jaayenge. Maddy ne aaj saara Horlicks ghol ke pi liyaa tha aur jaake Rishabh ki izzat phir se utaar di jiska impact precap mein dikhh rahaa hai. Rishabh was more bitter than sarcastic today ' lagtaa hai kutta thodaa sa touchy ho gayaa tha. Rest , his tharkeepann continued today also. Sankee kutta.
Paddy , in one word, was 'terrific'. The hug , the strength that she gave Maddy and those killer looks she gave Rishabh were fantastic. Rishabh ne toh bol diyaa ki aap dobaara yahaan aayi na , saasumaa, main aapko permanently apne paas rakh loonga.
High points :
1. Maddy being called 'madam' with respect and honour by the house staff. Sweet.
2. Maddy running into Paddy's arms and letting out the tears that the kutta gave her.
3. Rishabh's possessive isolation of Maddy and his kameene dialogues to Paddy. Paddy's silence here was a sign of dignity , I feel.
4. Rishabh and Maddy's 'look-look' while he is screaming at the house staff. Fire brigade ka number hai innke paas?☺️
5. Rishabh's transition from his tharkee dialogue ' " Haaye, meri chaahaton ko poora karne ke liye kitni bekraar rehti ho tum" to his provoked and aggressively threatening '" Accha? Issi laayak hoon main?". Tharkee dholak se junglee jaanwar banne mein time nahiin lagtaa khacchar ko.
6. Most hopeful sign was Maddy having removed all the jewelery except the 'mangalsutra'. It means commitment and her respect for that commitment , if not Rishabh.
