Mukkund marrying Madhu inspite of everything means he would have to let his family face the consequences as well... esp his sister who had to face harassement for no fault of hers. im sorry but even if your spouses's future is uncertain with you ...it doesn't matter because as long as both are together to stand the thorns..the future doesnt matter. that is companionship. that is love. it is extremely easy. it just takes the guts and the will of caving in others inside you. i have seen it all my life in front of me...such examples...its not some ideal story..i have been seeing such men who fight the world for their spouses or fiances no matter what almost every minute of my life...its not about hard..society should not matter when it comes to your spouse..the sister couldve lived with hthem..a brother can also protect the sister and the wife.my father does that. he might be flawed and no as good as mukund seems to be but he is a lion..and thank god for that.

From what I see, Mukkund had two choices: (a) he could go ahead with the marriage but cause problems for his family or (b) break the engagement with Madhu and and prevent any more troubles on his family. And obviously Mukkund chose the latter... and to be honest, I don't think there is any right or wrong in this. Because with either of the choices, someone or the other would suffer. Here, Mukkund chose to protect his parents and sis, who are also loved ones.

But I agree that what Madhu did for Mukkund was a great thing. And it is because of this, I think she deserves a better person as a life partner. Now just because Madhu did favours for Mukkund, one can't expect Mukkund to marry her. Instead, I would expect Mukkund to support her and help her out... but marrying her or not, is his decision. And if he wants to discontinue with the engagement, then so be it... I don't think there is any right or wrong to this. I don't think there is anything spineless if Mukkund wanted to break an engagement... if he thinks things won't work out, its better to break it off instead of getting into a marriage and then backing out.
