The junoon of acting
TV's stylish hunk, Vivian Dsena
believes in learning on the job
Vivian Dsena is playing a lead
role in Madhubala: Ek Ishq Ek
Junoon. He was in Indore on
Friday to promote his show and visited the DNA office.
Why was there a late entry of
your character on the show?
We tried to create suspense by
making RK's entry late. He is a
superstar on the show and we
all know that superstars never show up on time anywhere.
So making RK's late entry is an
attempt to attract the
audience.
What effort did you make for
this role?
I have worked a lot on my
physical fitness, styling and
acting. I lost 13kgs to get the
look of a Bollywood star and had to give many retakes. I
gave 25 retakes for the most
recent shoot I did.
How did you work on your
styling?
I am a cool guy and prefer
wearing casuals like capris,
tees and slippers. Since I am
playing the role of superstar, I researched about the best
brands across the country,
checked their collections, tried
them and shopped a lot. My
fiance Vahbiz Dorabjee has
also become very conscious about my styling now.
Was it difficult to act in TV
shows without any formal
training?
Acting is not an easy job!
Some people get trained and
others learn by experience and latter is the case with me. I am
working hard to improve on
my acting and also seek the
guidance of others. While
acting in Madhubala I had
prepared important points about my role and then
discussed them with the
producers.
Abhay Raichand of Pyaar Kii
Ye Ek Kahaani or RK of
Madhubala? Which was more
challenging?
The role of Abhay Raichand
was more difficult for me! RK is a very smooth role because
most people know about the
lifestyle of a superstar. So,
enacting this role is not
difficult. Essaying the role of
Abhay was challenging because I had to maintain
particular expressions of a
vampire, wear contact lens
and express myself without
using a lot of words.
Tell us about your connection
with Indore?
I was born in Ujjain which is
situated very near to Indore
and my mother is from here. I
have been to the city many times and love the weather,
hang out places and food.
When are you planning to
marry Vahbiz Dorabjee?
We are almost done with the
preparations and are waiting
to decide the final date, which
will be soon once my busy schedule gets over.
Do you like reading DNA After
Hrs?
I love the placement of
photographs and different
font colours used in DNA After
Hrs. It gives a very different and attractive look to the
newspaper.
