Education is the kind of jewel that will always stay with one. Trishna has hopes of making it in Bollywood, but not everyone makes it in Bollywood and I think Paddy has 'graduation' as the idea of a back up plan for Trishna in case she doesn't make it big over there. Besides there is a life span for an actor. Not every actor in Bollywood stays on top and not everyone survives in Bollywood till their old age. Everyone is not that lucky. Paddy is thus looking for a reasonable realistic Plan B for her daughter...
Plus, I feel Trishna herself didn't want to study. I mean one can atleast 'pass' an exam if they put in some effort. I am not talking about maximum efforts cause that's not her dream but if she had atleast put in minimal effort than she could've passed. Besides she had Madhu her sister at home to help her in studies if she wanted any help. She was in the same class as Trishna and could've easily helped her in passing an exam. Madhu could've helped her in understand concepts or just given her,her own notes to memorize and pass the exam.
But I believe Trishna is at fault here. She was too unfocused here... I don't think she is stupid or dumb to not get the material and she had the biggest help anyone could get... a peer. So I can understand Paddy's POV.
Plus I feel Paddy also is kinda at fault too.. one needs to instill importance of education in their children which she lacked in doing so. No matter whatever children's dream itself are. This is one thing that no parent should compromise on.
