Says Drashti Dhami, who is back on television after almost six months to play Madhubala in her new show...

She is arguably one of the most beautiful actresses on television today, but Drashti Dhami, initially excited to learn about her part in Colors' newly launched Madhubala... Ek Ishq Ek Junoon, later became nervous after realizing the comparisons one would draw between her character and the le
gendary actress.

Drashti says, "I was wowed by the script and I'm happy I'm a part of it. After Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi, I sat at home for around six months till I was offered this show."

The actress, who is playing the character named after the older actress, hasn't seen a single movie of hers. "However, like everybody else, I know her as the epitome of beauty. I hope I live up to everybody's expectations."

Her pairing with Gurmeet Choudhary in Geet had a huge fan following - will she be able to recreate the magic with her co-star in Madhubala, Vivian Dsena? "Let bygones be bygones. Vivian and I have become good friends and I am particularly close to his fiancee Vahhbiz Dorabjee. I feel our chemistry on screen is rocking," says she.

The actress feels that she has come a long way as an actress. She confesses, "I used to dread watching my crying scenes in Dill Mill Gayye with my family. They laughed at me. My relatives asked me to quit acting. When I was offered Geet, I told my director to replace me because I didn't think I was lead material. I told him I'm happy playing parallel lead; if I screw this one up, I might not even get those offers. I used to cry for hours fearing how I'd pull it off. But with the help of my director, I improved and the show became a success eventually."

Interestingly, while every other actor has his/her eyes set on Bollywood, Drashti is happy doing television. She says, "I don't think I'm fit for Bollywood unless a Sanjay Leela Bhansali offers me the sequel to Black!"

Drashti's entry will air on tonight's episode
