There are people I've seen on YouTube, Instagram and even wattpad thinking this show supports fake feminism and the female characters are unnecessarily glorified. I never got when did this exactly happen. I might agree that male characters don't get as much as screen space or character development like female characters but that doesn't mean supporting fake feminism.
well, haseena may be unnecessarily glofied with her classic mary sue behaviour but I don't think anyone else is. if anything, they've all had to deal with the consequences of their actions. they mess up and learn from those mistakes to become better people. they aren't perfect and nor do they hate on men for no apparent reason. male characters such as cheetah, Iqbal, badnam and billu don't get as much character development/screen space because they aren't main characters and this is a woman-centric show. even then, they do get their fair share of bright moments. the driving force behind the story and narrative are these four main women characters.
Agreed! Even I wanted her memories to include entire MPT. She is Maddam Sir to all of them. Her identity Maddam Sir is because of MPT, including Iqbal or Badnaam because except them no one addresses her as same. She is Haseena Mallik, Haseena or Miss Mallik to the world. But then how would CVS put extra spotlight on Kareena friendship. Even if not so much, at least one scenes with everyone would have been enough.
yep. she is maddam sir because of them and they needed their memories included in her journey as she came to recall who she was. the extra spotlight was basically fanservice.
flashbacks are a literary device that either enhances our experience, tells a story or facilitates our understanding of the present situation/character (there are more but I am focusing on these three). the whole revelation scene was alleviated because we were given insight into the character's heads, to see what they were thinking. it told us the story of her identity and who are the people who contributed to that. all that allowed us to better understand why she was persistent to convince Karishma that she was the real haseena malik in the middle of a fight. which is why i say, on its own, it's a good scene.
now when I look at the bigger picture, I am thinking about where the rest of her family went as she remembered her life. where did some of the happiest (winning the best thana competition, countless salutes from people, her mother celebrating her birthday) or the saddest (thana being shutdown, santu's coma, Pushpa Ji being tied to the bomb, her own near-death experience) went? because at that time she wasn't specifically remembering who Karishma was/a part of her life, she was remembering her whole, complete, 31 years of her existence life- the life in which a lot of people came and went but there were 6/8 people who were her constant.
I remember when MPT was about to shutdown during JPT track, she remembered memories with everyone. Of course, more with Karishma but at least others were included.
i will admit that part was nicely done becuase there was some form of balance. there was a proper tribute to the station and what it stood for. not sure if I am recalling this correctly, but I always assumed the reason her flashbacks were mainly of Karishma is that she was the reason the station was being shut down. so haseena would have been feeling hurt and naturally remembered the times there they were on the same side.
These days I sometimes feel to highlight Kareena, other bonds are being ignored by makers. Not that I've problem with Kareena but I think balance is required because they promised us a story of four independent females.
agreed.
@Blue: Would it matter even if Mira fell of? She was a robot
but knowing Haseena she could have done that. She was way too attached with Mira. And not to forget. CVS did give her a dignified ending.
🤣of course, Mira would have walked away without a single bolt/wire lose but I was talking about it in terms of sentimental value. would a semi conscious, borderline delirious haseena stop to think about mira being a machine? nah, she would want to save whoever it was in that seat regardless of her own life.
That's right! Else visit any forum with multiple famdoms and you will see how healthy the discussions. Every other post will have a DT note in it. But sometimes it fun reading those
But coming to Santu, is there anyone who doesn't like her? You just cannot stop yourself from falling for her. And she is the character who has the most upward character development graph.
yes, some of those discussions are so nice and sweet that I get type 2 diabetes. i like reading those back and forth too! sometimes it's really hilarious to see them squabbling about two completely different points.
i like how i say 'my masumiyat' and everyone just knows that i am talking about santu 😛yes she and Karishma have had the most character growth and I am here for it. believe it or not, I have seen people disliking her character before especially during episode 301 (rejecting cheetah after telling her father that she was gonna mary him) but that's a whole other discussion.
Your points completely have my support. Their bond is beautiful but they are still not friends. They can be senior-junior or mentor-mentee. They are people who trust each other blindly but are not comfortable to confide in each other. I kinda found their relationship was good and was growing slowly initially. With every case, they were trying to know each other was were getting comfortable slowly. The growth was pretty natural. Nothing seemed forced. But after JPT track, they turned overly-sweet. Sometimes I think is it because of fans shipping them that writers started with their forced narrative.
agreed. the fans do have a large say in this, especially during this urmilla plotline.
That too sisters
Every show has same concept.
oh the cringefest those shows are
Oh Mahabharat has always been my favorite. It's so deep that even I read it multiple times, every time I find something new. All the characters there have so much to explore
you and anee have now inspired me to read the Mahabharat and mythology in general hehe.
They need to have a conversation with each other where they would be talking about themselves. Sharing their struggles, their feelings, their dreams with each other. And not include their duty. It's good to be committed towards your duty but it's equally important to have a balanced life. These characters can never see beyond their duty. And this never lets them have their guard down. At least Karishma has shown some improvement by letting Haseena know why she couldn't become an IPS or how difficult her childhood has been. She has discussed with Haseena how no one wanted a girl to be a cop or how her husband fought against the world for her. But Haseena never. It was only once when she has let MPT know how as a kid she was in her school. And yes few times with Pushpa Ji!
yep yep. i agree with all of this. work-life balance is extremely important. they did touch on this topic during the inspector Vikram case post haseena's first birthday celebration.
I might be the minority here but if we talk about relationships Pushpaji's bond with both Haseena and Karishma is my favorite. I like that much more than any other relationships.
I adore Pushpa ji's bonds with all of them as well. it lends the professional atmosphere with a personal touch of motherly warmth and affection.
if I had to choose a favourite relationship it would be the sisterly bond between my masumiyat and Karishma. I honestly don't what it is that draws me towards it despite the limited number of scenes we have between them.
Even after three generations, it's not clear yrkkh
we will never know.😆
I wonder if they themselves know this
XD probably yes and no.
I've never been into fairytales even as a kid
🤣🤣 as a kid, I watched power rangers. fairytales what? speaking of which, how old are you? (IDK if this is too personal. if it is, then I sincerely apologise for hurting/offending you.)
Yeah please let's do it. Old is gold and I still love those episodes. I don't think they will ever have any conversation on any of those topics ever again.
yeassss. do we need permission for that? or can we just make topics episode by episode?

It's Haseena Mallik and her dearest team. Sometimes I think how all these weird people come together.
i guess that's the beauty of this show and its weird dynamics.
Specifically when we already know Haseena and SHO Haseena Mallik are two different people. So yes there might have been no need to explain to her team but she did owe an explanation who treats her as a daughter, to the woman who considers her a a friend, a girl and a man who looks upto her as a sister and also to Billu who has always stood by her.
yep yep.
