Well...Phew...I have a long list...😆😆😆
1) The execution of the episodes are so slow that sometimes it can put anyone to sleep🥱. Too much of dragging even for a small and irrevalent thing. Sometimes we are compelled to change the channel from 8:30 to 9:00 PM even when the ad breaks are not given.
No wonder the ratings are so bad as compared to other shows. I honestly don't think World Cup or IPL-4 should be blamed for it. The show is not clicking among viewers because of its boring and dragging execution. No interesting twists at all. As if the show is capturing every single moment of all characters. Viewers always do not expect to see that.Sometimes pace in the story is very much required to keep viewers hooked and this show sometimes appears as a docu-drama.
2) Camera work and the lighting used in the show is very bad. I am very much sure many people will agree with me on this point.All the characters in DOR look very dark-complexioned as compared to other characters of other Star Plus show. I agree that it is a show involving middle-class people but that doesn't mean that camera work should be like this. We don't expect them to wear heavy jewelleries and expensive clothes but atleast they should look little good on TV screen even in simple clothes.
Honestly almost all actors look very good in real-life or in other shows they are working than what they are looking in Dor. Look of sets are also very dull.
3) My extension to point 2. Makeup and Styling work done on actors is very bad.There are many other shows involving middle-class background but the makeup & styling work done on them is of good quality.
Sadly the styling & makeup team of Dor is not doing a good job. Double Thumbs down.👎🏼👎🏼
4) Too much of negativity in the show😡. Marrying a girl to get her salary is no less than a lifelong dowry. On the top of it, showing the boy's family demanding so many things to be done before/during/after marriage and girl's mother/family agreeing to their every crap is just pathetic. Wrong message to society.
5) The male lead's character is very disgusting/greedy who is just eyeing is wife's money and agreeing to every crap his mother/brother-in-law are teaching. Male lead's character is simply negative and spineless.Viewers are obviously still not able to digest that. It is very painful to watch the female lead being wronged by the male lead and his family.
Honestly a talented actor like Rohit Khurana does not deserve such a loser-type role. His talent is just being wasted here. Bhaskar doesn't have a spine so he is no more than just a sidekick to his mother and brother-in-law. He has married the female lead but still there is no single sign of repentance in his behaviour and actions. Nobody is expecting Bhaskar to turn goody-goody overnight but atleast he should show the signs of repentance little by little on what he is doing with Avni and her family.
If the separation of the couple gives way to main plot of the story, then Avni can be later separated with him on the basis of misunderstanding that he is still greedy for her salary when he is actually reformed at that time. 😭
6) There is NO CHEMISTRY at all between the male and female leads. Although newly married, most of their scenes are only about money or some other 'gharelu' probelm as if they have been married for some 25-30 years.🥱. Khaali Paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa paisa...
Star Plus is famous for giving lovable couples like Anurag-Prerna, Prem-Heer, Sujal-Kashish, Anurag-Taani, Adi-Priya, Robbie-Kasturi etc but Bhaskar-Avni has no passion at all. I agree that it is not a complete love story show but there is no harm in showing a gentle,soft love story blossoming in the hearts of both.☺️☺️
BEST THINGS in the show: 1) Dialogues written are awesome and sometimes very apt for the situation... 2) All the actors are doing excellent job with their respective characters.Edited by rittu_deep - 14 years ago
