It's not as if these two are "against" eachother, they just have their labelled differences. Now, who do you think is right and why ? The channel, or the actors ? Such veteran actors such as Sudhir Pandey and Nandita haven't experienced such things with any other channel or show..yet they thought they had to do something when they saw the way the production house and the whole channel itself was going crazy. Also actors such as Neha Bamb, Aarti Singh, Urmila Kanitkar, Vineet Raina and Vikrant Rai had to take a stand. Some people were stronger than others, yet they all fought, because what was happening [according to article] was not right. Who do you agree with ? THE CHANNEL itself, or THE ACTORS.

Hearing the story first-hand, I will say that I agree with all the actors who apparently got "blacklisted"..how sad for the channel. If SO MANY ACTORS feel it's WRONG, than how could the channel be right. You can't get rid of the main characters of the show. If ALL of them are having dificulties rather it be being treated like a slave, or working too much, or re-doing scenes or just getting damn complains well than..there must be SOMETHING wrong with the channel. In my opinion, I can say that the channel should NOT interfere..if the production house is making the serial, okk..their wasting too much money, than ok tell them to use less etc, but letting them go, bringing in new people who don't treat all the actors as they should be treated, well that's not fair. These people who are actors, are people..not animals..they except to be treated like people..they have their RIGHTS being actors.

And what's this THREATENING CALL ? Isn't this a little UNPROFFESIONAL. It's sick.."If you don't show up, than you are going to be BLACKLISTED" As Vikrant Rai said in the article : Are all the actors who play Brij, Mohini, Raaji, Soni, Mahi, Jeet and Veer are they all 'criminals.' Is fighting for RIGHTS, an act of a criminal(s) ? Trust me, he's very furious as the article stated, yeh koi achi baat nahin hai. It's rude and un-professional. It's horrible. I guess, being the son of a military officer rubs off.

Also, as Sudhir Pandey-ji said that he has never experienced this sort of thing from any other channel, which is very sad coming from a senior. The channel is RETARDED. The actors r all right. they keep changing the story, the producer, theactors hve been treated like SLAVES. they should all get their right as actors, they r nt idiots. thank god for them, especially a few who stood strong to those who were weak. and shame on the people who backed out..and the stupid channel. *An old post of mine*

'Maayka' mayhem continues

The cast of the show has approached CINTAA after being threatened by the channel that they would be blacklisted

The unrest on the sets of 'Maayka' (Zee) has only aggravated. After the channel expressed that it was considering blacklisting the actors for resisting the change in the production house (from Classic Productions to Creative Eye), actors have approached the Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) for intervention.

Actor Sudhir Pandey (plays Brij Malhotra) says, "Yes, I have approached CINTAA. I have been in this industry for long but have never witnessed such behaviour from any channel. I am neither against the channel nor am I speaking on behalf of Classic Productions. I am only speaking in support of them."

Sudhir continues, "Everyone has the right to choose whom to work with. So do we. My contract was with Classic Productions. How can anyone force me to enter into a contract with another production house in its place?"

Vikrant Rai, who plays Jeet in the serial, was furious at this threat. He says, "How can they use the word 'blacklist'? Have we committed a crime ? When we had gone to the channel to seek their intervention, we were told that we were not supposed to come there." He adds, "The channel feels that we are against them, which is not the fact. We are just against their decision. Why is Classic Productions being replaced when it was not their mistake at all? Aren't channels supposed to be just a platform for serial makers who want to air shows?"

Ashish Kaul, senior vice-president, Zee Enterprises Ltd, on his part says, "Let the actors think what they want to. We are aware of what we are doing. To state the fact, senior actors and representatives of the production house had been called for a meeting with senior officials at Zee and they were given a fair chance to be heard."

Ashish had earlier said that the channel had replaced the production house because they found 'the production quality and creative aspects' of Classic Productions unsatisfactory.

(l-r) Neha Bamb, Sudhir Pandey, Nandita Puri, Urmila Kanitkar and Aarti Singh

Zee is all set to blacklist nine actors of the popular daily Maayka and the production house (Classic Productions) very soon. Recently Zee TV sacked the production house of Maayka, Classic Films, and handed over the show to Creative Eye. Soon after, the actors and the production house called for a press conference to protest against the channel's decision.

The actors who have been blacklisted include Sudhir Pandey, Neha Bamb, Nandita Puri, Arti Singh, Pankaj Berry, Vinit Raina, Mohini Sharma, Urmila Kanitkar and Vikrant.

Reportedly the actors will be sued to the tune of crores of rupees each for defaming the channel and its executives. Ashish Kaul, executive VP, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, confirmed that they were thinking of taking action against the actors and the production house. He said, "We are thinking on those lines. The production house and the actors had called for a press conference defaming the executives. This was simply uncalled for. The production house should not have used the artistes to speak against the channel. We have decided that the artistes who create problems for the new production house will surely be blacklisted. We will also blacklist the production house across the entertainment industry and take the case to the Indian Broadcasting Federation. We can't take this defamation of a channel lying down. We on our part have done things according to the contract and have the authority to change the production house. What ever has happened has been very unfortunate."

Says Nandita Puri aka Moni in support of the production house and the actors, "We have been working for Maayka since day one and the serial had taken off on a good note. The TRPs were progressively going up and the production house took good care of us. Initially the Executive Producers from the channel put a lot of pressure and wanted to change the director, re-shoot the scenes and complained endlessly. All this affected our productivity. The production house and the Executive Producers had a lot of problems and this internal politics was getting to us. So all of us actors made a request to the channel in support of the production house. The request did not help and the programming officer called up saying if the artistes did not co-operate they would simply blacklist us."

only channel is on guity not the actors. one or two persons can be wrong on an issue but not the whole cast. We can't beleive on the channel's representatives. Serials popularity mostly depends on viewer's choice and if ppl like the serial world wide then how can they questioned its production value. its so unfair to treat a successful serial's prodution house and its superb starcast. if we suppose that production house done some mistakes, even then the chaanel should not made it as such a big issue and things might be sorted out with themselves wisely . it only seems very unprofessional and disgusting behaviour of the channel. 😡

The actors are totally right there is no point to threathen them I mean they don't have any loss they can have another role in like one second but to make a whole new serial can take years! It's only their loss because I am sure that the trp's will go lower maybe 1 or maybe even more😕

This is getting insane I am happy that Neha is still in it but I want Soni,Raaji etc back!😡

I am going to explode any minute all though liked the first few mins today😳

Seriously if Guddu wasn't blasted today I would've blast him away! That guy has luck!😡

Contrary to what everyone is arguing, I feel the actors and production house wronged, not the channel.

I obviously I don't know the exact terms of the agreement between Zee and Classic Productions. But, in the legal sense, Zee, the channel, most likely has creative rights and virtually all control over the show Maayka. The production house should have respected the terms and responsibilites the channel has designated to do so. After all, the show is Zee's property, and has hired the production house. Maybe in the contract, it has been stated that Zee can terminate ("sack") the production house should for specified reasons. Given how the production house has handled this whole thing - unprofessional - I don't blame Zee for dumping the production house.

I remember reading an article in which Neha Bamb was upset how the producation house was uncordinated - when it was time to shoot, members of the unit would argue and waste the actors time over what location to shoot at. That is very unprofessional, decisions like that need to be made in advance and actors must be notified beforehand, not at the very hour shooting is to commence.

Apart from the production house, the actors too have blame. Yes, it is unfair that a change in the producation house occurred abruptly, but, they must remember, they are performing for Zee. I belive Mr. Pandey said that he signed a contract to work with Classic Productions - but production houses could have been subject to change according to the contract.

The show belongs to the channel Zee, not Classic Productions. And because of that, they have every right to change production houses, actors, sets, pretty much anything about Maayka.

Unfortunately, the unprofessional behavior from the actors resulted in getting blacklisted and replaced. I wish that Zee can get them back. But then again, it was uncalled for the actors to defame the channel over a change in the production house. Their job is to perform for the house, not show loyalty or favortism for a producation house. The lady who plays Soni claims TRPs will go down. That usually happens when the plot of show starts to suck. Content rules over portrayal of the show.

Zee did go a little overboard in blacklisting the cast.
Here's what they should do: drop the blacklists. If the actors refuse to cooperate with the new producation house or continue to defame, THEN give the blacklists and fire them. Whining or complaining over the change just gives the actors and the production house a bad rep.

What ever happened I am with the actor.

Even if the actors were wrong and I know they were not, Zee tv should have discussed the problem with them and solved the problem in a ftriendly way but not firing them and blacklisting them too.

If Zee tv have got the right for changing the production house, even the actors have got the right to refuse to work with the new production house.

Do you know why the actors have got the right to refuse to work with the new production house, because the actors have signed their contracts with the production house that Zee tv wants to change.

What Zee tv has done is not fair.

Zee tv is manipulating and destroying the actors and showing them his powers.

It looks like the Zee tv manifesto is, "if you disagree with me or do not take my orders then I will destroy you".

And this is axactly what happened.
