I would ideally like to sit & enjoy what I'm eating and feel comfortable in doing so. Standing would be the last option if no seats are available and no laps.

I'm a very slow eater, I also like to watch TV while eating. Dad on the other hand eats very fast and then immediately goes out for a smoke. So even if the dinner is all cooked we rarely eat together, plus all of us have different times. Dad is an early riser so he goes to bed early and has his dinner around 8pm. I keep up till like 4 am so I like to delay my dinner as much as possible. Mom eats somewhere around 9:30-10:00 pm. Ab aise mein impossible to sit together and eat. Also Dad likes to sit at the dining table, I usually take my dinner to the bedroom, and Mom likes to eat in the living room.

If meal times are the only times when family meets tab toh it makes sense to eat together, but I work out of home and mom is a stay-at home housewife and Dad is usually back by 5pm, we spend enough and more time with each other to need that special slot created.

At the end of the day it is not where you sit and eat and when, it is about spending time with each other and understanding each other.

Nahi pakate bhi hain aur family ke saath khate bhi hain. Making most out of technology and time is what Ekta and I have learned and many more I guess.

Ekta, taking liberty to talk on your behalf here.

Haan hum toh hai hi khane ke shaukeen... Har kisi aire gaire ke haath ka nahi khate ... Ya toh apni mumma ke haath ka khate hain, ya phir khud pakate hain 😳

Back to the topic: Doesn't make sense if u treat ur family as some restaurant staff who cook for u and bring it to you.... and last mein tumhare left-overs khayein... Completely spoils the basic rule of why it's called a family... Hum Saath Saath Hain ka concept bhool gaye kya???

p.s. Don't get personal... Or else u'll be trashed 😈

Whoever wants to eat garam garam phulka/Roti - should stay away from family for a week/or just cook by themselve and try to cook by themselves and eat - they will realize the value of food - and what they are getting and will stop complaining about thanda garam πŸ˜†
