Part 2

He puts off his phone and raises his hand to check for the strange sensation. He is shocked to see that his hand is soaked with blood. Tears come out of his eyes. He himself is shocked at his emotional flaw. Suddenly someone holds him from back, he comes out of his trance to look back. It was Sameer.

Sameer: Bhai you here? What are you doing?..

He suddenly looks his hand and gets shocked.

Sameer: What happened to you? Are you ok are you injured?

Prithvi looks his hand and says

Prithvi: nothing.

Sameer: But you are bleeding.

Prithvi: No I am not. It is of some patient.

Sameer: Patient?

Prithvi: I think my hand was struck with some patient.

Sameer: Oh no. you come with me. It is not safe. God know what the disease he or she has?

Prithvi: Ok. He smiles.

Scene 2

Prithvi washes his hands and Sameer starts scolding him

Sameer: Bhai why don't you take care of yourself? But you never listen. Always busy in your work. You should be aware of your surroundings. I don't understand that how could you so be careless. I am so afraid about this blood.

While scolding him he looks at him. Prithvi is lost somewhere.

Sameer: Bhai I am talking to you. He waves his hand in front of his eyes.

Prithvi: Yes I am listening.

Sameer: Ok so what was I saying?

Prithvi: Woh main actually. Sorry I was lost somewhere.

He puts his hand over his shoulder.

Sameer: What happened?

Prithvi: Don't know feeling strange.

Sameer: Means.

Prithvi: I am having weird feeling.

Sameer: I am unable to understand.

Prithvi: that blood. I felt very strange. Aisa laga mera dil kut gya. I am unable to understand why I felt so strange. My heart was drowning when I saw that blood on my hand.

Sameer: Yeh to hona hi tha. You are so sensitive. I have told you 100 times that strengthen up your heart with your body. He smiles.

Prithvi: Sameer.

Sameer: No I am serious. You have made your life around horses and dogs. And that's why you are so sensitive.

Prithvi: Sameer. Please I have to go now.

Sameer: Ok see you at dinner. He smiles.

Scene 3

Sameer enters in the patient room. He checks a file. He holds her wrist to check her wrist.

Sameer: What is your name?

The girl remains silent. He takes a file and reads a name

Sameer: Kali! Naam to acha hai. (He smiles for a moment) Khair mujhe kya lena dena.

He reads her reports.

Sameer: Why are your RBS so low? You don't eat properly. Oh I got it. Smartness ka bhoot hoga. These days' girls have craze to be smart. Don't care about their health. I am sick with this behavior. You girls don't know how much food is important for your health. But nahin I want to be like aishwariya. Idiots and silly you are. Never think of your health. Look it yourself. It's just like that you have not eaten since ages. I feel like slapping you girls.

He again reads a report and finds HB low. He checks her blood pressure and takes a reading of 50-30

Sameer: What is this? Your HB is low; pulse rapid and blood pressure is low. You don't love your life miss Kali! If you don't then why are you wasting our time?

She remains silent. She has not said anything despite of getting lecture by Sameer. Sameer slams the file at bedside table.

Sameer: What is your problem? I am talking to you Miss kali. Do you think I am idiot who loves speaking? Why are you wasting my time? I am not free like you. If you don't want to reply me, tell me I will leave. I am not dying to talk to you. Samjhi tum.

Nurse: Sir whom are you talking?

A nurse who has just entered in the room, asks Sameer.

Sameer: Walls. Can't you see? Off course that silly girl who is not replying to me.

Nurse: Sir you have not gone through to history.

Sameer: What do you mean by that?

Nurse: Sir she never speaks.

Sameer: You mean she is dumb.

Nurse: No Sir. Can't say so. Actually she has come from a mental asylum

Sameer: Mental asylum?

He is shocked.

Nurse: And they told us due to some emotional trauma she has stopped talking.

Sameer looks her. She is a young lady, extremely pretty and smart. She has shiny hair and beautiful eyes. She does not seem like mentally sick. He is unable to believe that she has some psychiatric problem. But then he looks at her face it was totally blank like she has never been there. Now he becomes sad and depressed. He is thinking that he had been scolding her for half an hour and she never speaks. He loves talking and she has stopped talking because of some shock. He leaves the room immediately because it was unbearable for a person like Sameer.

Scene 4

(At dinner table)

Everyone is on the dining table including Sameer. Mr. Saxena gets shocked to see Sameer.

Mr.Saxena: Am I dreaming? Mr. Sameer Saxena has come on table before time.

Sameer remains silent

Prithvi: Papa. Please.

Mr.Saxena: Nahin really strange that Sameer has got time to come on table. I think Hospital management has fired him otherwise after doing duty he never comes on time although Avni does the same work but I think my son manages whole hospital.

Mrs.Saxena is looking angrily to Avni. It was strange whenever Sameer faces the music from the Mr. Saxena she takes the revenge from Avni.

Prithvi: Papa please I think we should start dinner.

Everyone starts doing dinner. Sameer is silent as well as playing with spoon instead of eating. Suddenly Prithvi sees him.

Prithvi: Why are you not eating?

Sameer: Bus aise hi. He forces a smile.

Prithvi: No you are not looking well. Tell me.

Sameer: Woh actually today I met a girl.

Mr.Saxena: I know you were upset because of girl. You will never learn. Even you don't care of your parents' presence.

Sameer: you will never understand.

He gets up from the chair and leaves the room. Avni also gets up.

Mr.Saxena: Koi zaroorat nahin hai nawabzade ke peeche jaane ki chup chap khanna khao.

Prithvi forbids Avni from his eyes and she sits on the chair again.

Scene 5

Sameer is sitting on a chair in the terrace. Avni comes and sits beside him.

Avni: What happened?

Sameer: Nothing. I am fine. You should go.

Avni: Par hoa kya hai?

Sameer: I am fine. Please go from here.

Avni: You know Sameer uncle cares about you but he does not like your behavior.

Sameer: I am not interesting in your uncle's discussion.

Avni: Sameer uncle tumahre bhale ke lye.

Sameer: Just go from here.

He yells at her.

Avni: Sameer tum.

Sameer: just go from here. He shouts at her. (please take it as a story. i m still sorry for this)😊

She gets up and comes out of terrace. She sees Prithvi there who is looking at her.

Prithvi: You just go from here. I will see what is the problem?

She nods. While Sameer feels guilt that he shouts at Avni. Prithvi enters in the terrace and sees him. He also looks him.

Prithvi: what happened?

Sameer: Nothing bhai please leave me alone.

Prithvi: Sameer I have known you since childhood whenever you are disturbed you come here.

Sameer: bhai I am fine. Please go from here.

Prithvi: what will you do? You will yell at me too?

Sameer: I am sorry bhai. I know I should have not yelled at Avni but I am really upset right now.

Prithvi: and I will not leave until you will not tell me the reason.

Sameer: Woh actually today I met a patient. I kept on scolding her because she was not giving me any response. And then nurse told me that due to some mental trauma she does not speak. She can but she is not, when we gets hurt we yell but what severe emotional trauma she must have gone through that she becomes mute, it appears life is meaningless for her.

Prithvi: But maybe she is dumb

Sameer: Asylum management said her relative admitted her and said she is mentally ill.

Prithvi: waise it is very strange you have become serious for something. Look like girl is pretty.

Sameer: Bhai Please.

Prithvi: Ok sorry I was just trying to make your mood chill.

Sameer: Bhai I am really very upset. First because of that girl and second because of papa.

Prithvi: but if you take tension of each patient then how will you care them. Sameer you are too sensitive and being a doctor you have to bear this.

Sameer: that's why I did not want to be a doctor.

Prithvi: Sameer you can't change past.

Sameer: yeah but it all happens because of dad.

Prithvi: Sameer if you keep on thinking about past then you will make your life upset. You should let go to the past. Life should be revolved around future.

Sameer: yeah I know bhai.

Prithvi: And please don't behave rude with Avni. Already mom behavior is not satisfying with her.

Sameer: yeah I know. I will persuade her.

Prithvi: good that's like my brother. And don't worry about that girl, you should start treatment despite of taking tension. Rest of all leave at God. He smiles

Sameer: Thanks bhai.

Prithvi nods his head.

Scene 6

Avni enters in her room. She sees flowers, chocolates and stuff toy (bear). A smile appears on her face. She knows who can do this. This has been happening since her childhood. When Sameer fights with her he gives her these things. He always says her sorry no matter who does the mistake. She comes near to the bed, holds flower in her hand and reads the card.

She smiles once again. He enters in her room.

Sameer: I am sorry Avni. I know I should not have behaved rude with you.

She decides to tease him this time. She turns and looks at him. She puts flowers, chocolates and bear again on bed.

Avni: Sameer don't say sorry.

Sameer: It was my mistake so I have to say sorry.

Avni: No seriously Sameer leave it. I have no importance in your life.

Sameer: please don't say like this. He holds her wrist.

Avni: Leave it Sameer. Mere hone na hone se tumeih kya farak parta hai.

Sameer: Aisa mat kaho. You and Bhai are most important in my life. Without you guys my life is noting.

Avni: Rehne do Sameer. Main to waise bhi is family ka hisa nahin hoon.

Sameer: No you are most important member of family. Ask to my heart how much important you are.

Avni: mere hone na hone se kya farak parta hai tum ko. Main to kuch bhi nahin hoon.

He puts his hands on her lips and then holds her with her shoulder

Sameer: tum khud bhi nahin janti tum mere lye kya ho. Sameer ki life mein Avni ki importance us ki jaan se bhi zada hai.

She slightly slaps him on a head.

Avni: Idiot. I was just joking and you got serious. Tumeih to koi bhi bakra bana sakta hai.

Sameer: Avni ki bachi ustaad se hi chalaki. Tum ko to main abhi batata hoon. He runs after her but she leaves the room and locks him inside.

Avni: Ab Mr nautanki raho under. She laughs.

Scene 7

(In the morning)

Avni comes to the dining table. Mrs. Saxena is only there.

Avni: Hello aunty.

Mrs.Saxena: Hi.

Avni: where is uncle?

Mrs.Saxena: He had to attend meeting so he has left.

Avni: Oh. How is your work going on?

Mrs.Saxena: Fine.

Avni: Good. She smiles.

Mrs.Saxena: I have arranged kitty party today at home. I need your help for arrangements.

Avni: I am sorry aunty. I wish I could help. Today I have duty at hospital. I will be free late.

Mrs.Saxena: Don't say sorry Miss Avni kapoor. I know you would never help me.

Avni: No seriously aunty I want to help. But

Mrs.Saxena: Don't be so nave. I know you very well. Why would you help us? Jab muft ki rotian mil rahi ho to.

Avni: No seriously aunty main to?

Mrs.Saxena: Don't rut up a false show in front of me. You have already made your uncle fooled. You can't make me fool.

She leaves the table. Avni tears drops at the table.

Suresh Baba (an old servant of this house): Beti leave Mrs.Saxena. You know madam. You start your breakfast.

Avni: No baba I am not feeling hungry. She wipes her tears and leaves the room.

Scene 8

Prithvi comes in dining room and asks Suresh baba to bring breakfast. During his breakfast he asks him.

Prithvi: have everyone done breakfast? Where is everybody?

Suresh Baba: Mr. and Mrs.Saxena have to attend meeting so they did breakfast early. Sameer Baba is sleeping.

Prithvi: and Avni?

Suresh Baba: Woh?????.

Prithvi: What happened?

Suresh Baba: Nothing beta.

Prithvi: No tell me.

He tells him about the whole incident and he becomes sad because of his mom behavior.

Prithvi: Baba. Prepare and pack the breakfast of Avni. I am going to hospital.

Suresh baba nods his head.

Scene 9

Avni enters in the room and sees Prithvi here.

Avni: Bhayiah. You? here?

Prithvi: why? I can't come here.

Avni: No I was saying as????..

Prithvi: If you can come without taking breakfast then I can also come here.

Avni: Bhayiah. I did not feel like eating so that's why.

Prithvi: Don't lie to me. I am your big brother.

Avni: I am not lying. I did not feel like eating.

Prithvi: Because of Mom.

Avni: I am not lying. I did not feel like eating.

Prithvi: Avni you know that Mom is like that. Why do you take it seriously? She does not even care about her own children so what are you expecting from her that she would behave mannerly with you. Avni jo hai us mein khush rehna seekho. We can't get everything in life.

Tears roll over Avni's cheeks.

Avni: Bhayiah. Main to.

Prithvi: Avni there are some people who has nothing but still live their life happily and we have to understand this. Life is to move forward not to look behind.

She wipes her tears and says

Avni: I am sorry bhayiah.

Prithvi: if you want to apologize then eat something. He smiles. Avni nods her head and smiles too.

She starts eating breakfast.

Prithvi: That's like a sweet sister.

Suddenly nurse rushes in the room

Nurse: Doctor! bed no 18 patient of ICU is getting serious.

Avni leaves meal and rushes towards ICU but she forgets her stethoscope in the room. Prithvi follows her in order to gives her stethoscope. He asks the nurse where Avni is, the nurse tells her she is in ICU. He walks through the corridor to move towards the glass door of ICU, as he sees through the glass door, he sees a girl in front of whom is standing Avni putting airway in patients mouth and trying to give patient through the oxygen mask but she is having great difficulty to put mask because the patients whole body is jerking with seizures. He has a strange feeling that she has got a close connection to this girl. He walks few steps ahead to clearly visualize her and as he sees her, he feels like having impending doom, mobile and stethoscope splashes out his hands, his eyes get wet and his hands are tremoulising as she is her lady love, DAMNI GUJRAL. She is the girl who he has been in love for last four years and has been continuously failing to in his efforts to forget her. He sees to the skies as if he is asking lord to change the entire scene.

Prithvi: She cannot be Damini. Prithvi sees her again she is not Damini. Damini is in Shimla.

With hope again he raises his head, but the harsh reality is evident in front of him.

Mean while the hospital staff remove Prithvi from there.

He walks through the corridor where scenes coming and going in his mind, all words sentences and scenes intermingling, tears are running through his face.

Where in the ICU, the patient is put on mechanical ventilator.
