Chandana
(Younger daughter of Anjana Bhowmick)
Age: 22
What she's doing: Keeping her fingers crossed for launchboat Premi. Anchoring the popular travel show Musafir Hoon Yaron on Star Plus keeps her busy, too.
What she wants: Good roles on big screen. "The films my mother acted in had such great scripts. I would like to do such roles," Chandana says.
Family factor: Mother is a major influence, but older sis Nelanjana has been a great guide, too. "I don't take any decisions without consulting them. Mom helped me out with the dialogues of Premi and was there through the entire shoot, in Calcutta and Gangtok," chirps Chandana.
The smile?s back
If the face on the right looks familiar, it?s because you have seen her many a time on billboards across the city. She is Chandana Sharma, Nilanjanaa?s sister, who?s all set to conquer the small screen this time, after having shared big-screen space with Jeet and (bro-in-law) Jisshu in Premi.
Dubbed as the new 8 pm girl on STAR Plus, Chandana will star as Tara in a brand new serial titled Yeh Dil Chahe More to start in December. It?s not the first time that Chandana is doing TV. She started off as a teenybopper in the serial Just Mohabbat before doing other small-screen work in Dil Se Dosti and Ayushman.
And not just Bengali films, Chandana has also done movies down south. But now it?s television where the girl with the winning smile is back for another blast.
The actress adds, "Things have not changed much after becoming a celebrity. I still the enjoy rains. I sit at home with a cup of tea with lots of pakodas, samosas and chaat." But Chandana doesn't get to enjoy the downpour as much. "I don't get much time away from my shoots. But whenever I do, I just go out in the rain and have a blast with my friends. Getting drenched is the best way to enjoy monsoon."
Chandana says that the sets of Love Ne Mila Di Jodi are also loads of fun. "Whenever we are free, I and my co-stars have a blast. Our producers, Neelima Bajpai and Shyamashish Bhattacharya of Shakuntalam Telefilms are generous enough to let us enjoy ourselves."
