Krups

@ Diya is back - Awww Krupsie! 🤗 🤗

@ needing fun moments on the show - Agree completely, babe!! Show is rather depressing right now...

@ nautanki Sameer, toughie bhabhi Damini, chirpy Rosh bugging the heck outta Varun and Prithvi siding with her, and joyous and healthy Ela Gujral _ I want them back too!!!!! Since the cvs don't seem to ever listen to us, all I can say is just give me prompts and I'll write out the fun scenes for you and everybody else...

Thanks for replying, sweets!

Zain

Glad you liked it, babe!! Just trying to spread some cheer on the forum, since our cvs don't seem to care... Sigh.

Mru

You know, when I first saw the promos of this show, I thought it would be a rom-com... And that was reinforced by the PriDa track... Then of course, Ballu mahashay had to go get himself killed, and bring that damn maqsad to life, and everything changed... sigh.

Thanks for the kind words, Mru...

@ pm - sure thing!

Loveness

Glad you liked it! Thank you...

Chapter 2
Prithvi Saxena was a simple man. He wasn't charming like Sameer or intelligent like Varun. All he had was a good nature, some amount of street-smartness and a good deal of sense. He never had regretted being ordinary or having simple tastes; in fact, he rather prided himself on being practical and down-to-earth. His morals, his family and horses - those were the things that mattered most to him. Always dutiful, he hadn't thought twice when his father had asked him to take up his old job at Gujral Mansion. All he knew was that his father thought he was needed in Mumbai, and he saw no reason to argue about it. By a strange quirk of fate, both his brothers had gotten jobs at Gujral Enterprises, and so the three of them had set out to the strange city, content in the knowledge that they'd be together and that their parents were happy and comfortable in Manali.

Mumbai had been a bewildering place at first, but the Gujrals had been surprisingly warm and before they knew it, they were settled in quite well. Ela Gujral was a gracious woman who had welcomed them with open arms, initially because they were sons of the man she respected very highly, but later, as she got to know them, she'd made them part of her home and life.

Sameer had fallen in love with Avni Gujral, and they were now engaged, much to the delight of both families, and Varun too seemed to be on the verge of settling down with the youngest Gujral sister, Roshni. Everything was going very well, when trouble had arrived in the beautiful form of Damini Gujral and had messed up Prithvi's orderly life completely.

Now, like every individual on the face of the planet, Prithvi too had dreamed about the sort of woman he'd marry, and in his dreams she was always a soft-spoken, patient, homely little soul. In short, he'd dreamed of a perfectly sweet and simple woman who would settle into his life comfortably, without causing so much as a ripple in its placidity. He'd never thought, in his wildest dreams, that he could ever have feelings for a woman like Damini, who was a thunderstorm, in every sense of the word. Damini was a temperamental, stubborn brat, who he'd have loved to hate... except that he just couldn't. Since their first meeting, when she'd been exceedingly condescending and had set a wild horse at him, he'd been hooked. As he got to know her better, he'd begun to admire her tenacity, her strength and her love for her family - all qualities he himself possessed. Still, he hated the fact that she affected him so much and that he couldn't seem to be able to control his temper- or his heart - around her.

Sameer had sensed the change in his brother very soon, and now that irreverant nautanki lost no chance in teasing him. It was irritating, but Prithvi had to admit that each time Sameer called Damini 'bhabhi', it made him feel unbelievably happy. There was no denying that Damini Gujral had become very special to him and he now accepted that the sort of woman he'd dreamt of earlier would have bored him stupid. Yes, Prithvi Saxena was in love, but not even the horses he loved so much could have dragged the truth from him. It would require the combined efforts of his meddlesome brothers and soon-to-be saalis to do that...

Said brothers and saalis were sitting in silence around Roshni's room, cracking their heads over how to carry the operation forward. They'd thought of only one plan in the past hour, and that too had been Goldie's bright idea, which of course meant it had to be ditched. Just then Goldie jumped up again, a wide grin on her face as she gushed " I thought of the most awesome plan, you guys!!! I was watching a show yesterday and the lead pair were exactly like our Prithvi and Damini di, and uss show mein na, the airplane they were in crashed onto a marooned island and the two of them fell in love while waiting for the rescue team... Shall we do that too?". Her grin faltered, as she saw the expression of disbelief on everybody's face..."You didn't like the plan?" she asked hesitantly. Sameer buried his face in his hands, while Varun muttered to a shocked Roshni "Are you sure she's sane?" Only Avni had the patience to smile gently at Goldie saying "Nahin Goldie, plan toh bahut accha hai, par we won't be able to execute it... Now why don't you just go downstairs and tell the servant to give you some cookies? You look famished!"

As Goldie left the room, the others slowly sat up... "This is just crap!" Sameer swore. "How come we can't think of anything? I mean, Rosh and I are like the best when it comes to relationships and love!! But we just can't think of anything now!" Avni rubbed his shoulder soothingly, as Rosh gloomily nodded her head. Avni thoughtfully said "I don't know how this could help, but di is slightly claustrophobic... She gets really uncomfortable in cramped spaces. Remember how she freaked out on the subway, Rosh?" Rosh joined in"How could I forget that! She clutched onto me so tightly that she nearly cut off circulation!"
Sameer sat up straighter and exclaimed "I think I've got Plan 3!!"

Plan 3

Get Prithvi to comfort Damini in an uncomfortable situation

Featuring - The elevator at Gujral Enterprises and a posse of Sameer's friends

Sameer, Avni, Roshni and Varun were positioned in the foyer of Gujral Enterprises, waiting for the stubborn idiots (as they'd privately dubbed Prithvi- Damini) to arrive. Plan 3 was in place and they were highly hopeful about its outcome. Eight of Sameer's friends stood near the elevator, waiting for the cue to do their bit for the worthy cause.

Just then, Damini arrived, closely followed by Prithvi, who took his bodyguard duties very seriously, for a few other reasons than his innate responsible nature. They walked to the elevator, and waited for it to come down, Damini tapping her feet impatiently, while Prithvi crossed his arms and rolled his eyes at her impatience. The elevator arrived, and both of them went in, to be followed by the waiting throng of men, and Varun, who was to report the if the plan had worked to the rest of the schemers.

Damini looked in surprise at the men in the elevator. Why was there such a rush? Did they have an interview scheduled today? She didn't think so, but then why was the elevator so full? She turned to look at Prithvi, to find him frowning as more men poured into the already cramped space. Suddenly uncomfortable, Damini started to fidget and moved to the back corner of the elevator, but that didn't save her from being jostled quite a bit. She shrank back, hugging her files to her body, trying to avoid being touched by the strange men. As someone's elbow grazed her side, Damini jumped and edged into Prithvi, who was standing next to her. In reflex, he put an arm around her, pulling her closer and holding her tight against him. Her eyes flew to his, slightly shocked at the tingles running down her spine at his touch. At his reassuring smile, she finally relaxed. They stood like that, all through the ride to the ninth floor (which went surprisingly slowly, because someone had pressed the button on all floors), her hand on his arm, his arm around her waist, wondering why the cramped elevator seemed like the best place to be in...

When they finally got to the ninth floor, Damini unwillingly moved away from Prithvi. He looked her with a soft smile and asked "Are you ok?", with a look in his eyes that she'd never seen before. Blushing slightly, she smiled and softly whispered a 'thank you' before hurrying to her office, the soft smile still lingering on her lips, much to the amusement of Varun, who was covertly observing the whole interaction.

Ten minutes later, Varun ran to his office to meet his partners in crime. At their questioning glance, he broke out into a wide grin, returned whole-heartedly by them... As they settled down to a celebratory round of coffee, Varun observed thoughtfully, "It might be time to bring in Ela aunty now"...

Achu!
So you liked it?! That makes me so happy! This is the first time I'm writing a rom-com fic, so I'm treading on egg-shells here... Angst seems to come more naturally to me, for some reason...
@ PriDa not seeing eye-to-eye these days - I'm still optimistic, babe! Soon everything will be fine and we'll fall in love with them all over again!!
This is gonna be a short fic, so the updates will come pretty fast... Next one should be up tomorrow morning!
Thanks for commenting, sweets...
