Damini was seated in her cabin, her face glowing with happiness. Since the night when Prithvi had said that he loved her, she hadn't been able to stop smiling. She knew he loved her, of course, but it was something else to hear him say it. "I'm so lucky to have you in my life, Prithvi", she thought. She glanced at the clock, noting that it was nearly 2 p.m. "Time for lunch", she thought, and walked to her husband's cabin, intending to take him out to her favourite restaurant.

Prithvi was still brooding over Inder's demands, when Damini stepped into his cabin. "Hi!" she said brightly, smiling at him, "Ready for lunch?" Prithvi stared at her wordlessly, wondering how she got more beautiful each time he saw her. "Chalein?" Damini asked again. "Huh? Haan, let's go" he said, standing up. She took his arm, smiling at him beatifically.

They were at the restaurant, eating in peace, when Damini froze suddenly. Following her gaze, Prithvi saw Inder at the table diagonal to theirs, smirking evilly at them. He turned back to Damini, who looked furious now. "Why is he looking at us?" she muttered angrily. "Ignore him, Damini", Prithvi said, sounding more calm than he felt. He knew why Inder was here. The scum probably wanted to remind him about 'his' money. Frowning, Prithvi excused himself and went towards the men's room, signalling Inder to follow him there.

"Why are you following me about?" he snarled, when Inder appeared. "Itna gussa! I only wanted to remind you about my money... I don't blame you for forgetting, though. Who can remember silly things like money when in the company of a woman like Damini?" Inder smirked. Prithvi lost control then, grabbing hold of the other man's collar and glaring at him dangerously. "This is the very last time I'm saying this, Inder. Leave Damini out of this. You will get your money very soon." Slamming the man against the wall, Prithvi stalked out.

Damini was waiting at the table, when Prithvi arrived looking enraged. "What's wrong?" she asked him. "Nothing, let's just go", he said curtly, paying the bill. Bewildered, Damini followed him out of the restaurant, both of them impervious to the pair of narrowed eyes that watched them leave. "You'll regret losing your temper, Prithvi Saxena. I'll make sure of that" Inder hissed...

Later that day, Prithvi sat in his cabin with Varun, discussing how best to arrange for the 100 crores. "This is wrong, bhaiyya" Varun said, "we can't just take the shareholders' money like this." Prithvi looked up, irritated "I know, Varun. But what other option do we have? Inder has to be paid off soon, or it'll be the end of all that we've worked for." Varun looked resigned at that and left to tranfer the money to Inder's account.

Prithvi sat silently for a while, thinking about what he'd just done. His parents had taught him to be honest and sincere in all he did, and here he was, stealing money that wasn't his. He'd become a criminal... He rubbed his forehead with his palm, trying to convince himself that this was necessary. After a minute, he called up Inder "You should have received the money by now. Check your account. And don't call or meet me again." he said harshly. "Thank you so much, Mr.Saxena. I promise I won't trouble you for a while now. Thank you again and have a good day!" Inder mocked. After a pause, he continued "Oh and I hope your wife enjoys the parcel I've sent her. It's got some wonderful photographs of your family. I think she'll be thrilled to see them..." Inder hung up.

Prithvi stood up with a jerk, his brain shutting down momentarily. Inder had sent Damini the photographs? She'd get to know the truth from Inder? Recovering from his shock, Prithvi raced to her cabin, hoping to catch her before she opened the parcel. Slamming open her door, he rushed in, coming to an abrupt halt when he saw her sitting with her face buried in her palms. His glance shifted to the open parcel on her desk. Open. She'd opened the parcel. She'd seen the photographs. She knew...

He stood there motionless, noticing the photographs strewn at her feet. The smiling faces, those happier times seemed to sneer at him. "Damini" he said softly, unable to bear her silence anymore... She looked up at that, her red eyes looking accusingly at him, piercing his heart... Without a word, she stood up and swept out of the door, leaving him with tears clouding his eyes...
