Mind your language!

Aparna Tilak
In a time when co-stars compete against each other, are bothered only about completing their scenes and leaving the sets, Rajeev Khandelwal has set a new example on the sets of SAB's Left Right Left.

For a scene, the cadets were supposed to dress like members of a Punjabi family and speak the language. Rajeev whose mother tongue is Punjabi, helped his co-star Maharastrian Aparna Tilak (Dr Shalini) with her lines.

Diction dilemma

Talking about Rajeev's generous act, Aparna says, "I had two to three pages of lines where I had to speak to some one on the phone in a heavy Punjabi accent. I can speak Hindi fluently, but I found it difficult to manage the north Indian accent. Rajeev was around and volunteered to help me out with the lines. I was quite impressed because he was done for the day, and could've left the shoot but he stayed back to help me out."

'He's not like that'

Rajeev Khandelwal
After Rajeev's tips on the right pronounciation and tone, Aparna breezed through her dialogues. She adds, "Some people may find Rajeev arrogant and interfering. But I think it's completely untrue. He works in the interest of the show and every one else."

Talking about another misconception, Aparna says that people believe that she is a doctor off screen as well. She explains that her husband Amod runs his private clinic, but she has nothing to do with the medical profession, "It's quite funny because every where I am called Dr Shalini.

Spot boys and crew members come to me and ask for medical advice." Aparna believes that playing a doctor is a big responsibility and feels she has to live upto her on screen image, "Recently a cadet fainted on the sets and I immediately rushed her to the hospital."
