Describe it: that's a little difficult because we got to see an array of shades and emotions:
1) He was the no nonsense cop: he went and beat up a guy, because that guy was an abuser who regularly beat his wife.
2) that fed into his second deeper layer: that of emotional turmoil, he grew up in a house watching his father abuse his mother. That left a deep impact; perhaps the reason for his need to solve the case.
3) that takes me to the third thing: determination. Yes all police officers (along with many other professionals who are good at what they do) are determined. There are no two ways about it. But here that determination was tenfold. To the point which, sometimes it bordered on negligence. His family, his fiance's family are targeted, yet he steamrolls through. That is not to say he disregards his family and loved ones for his 'duty' if anything he goes all out to protect them, but to me the way he charges head first into catching this goon is clear indication of someone who puts his work above everything else. Now that's not a bad thing. I don't mean in a negative way. If anything it is rather applaudable
4) Gentle yet firm: his gentleness is portrayed through his relationship with his mother and his fiance, however at the same time he is quite firm. His anger at failing (initially) boils through to the point that it makes you wonder whether his hot headed-ness will be his downfall.
5) But alas no. He catches the bad guy in the good old fashion; 'cops and robbers chase' which results in a huge fight. His bravery is thus rewarded.
I dunno may be I haven't done justice to his character.
I watched an episode or two (I don't know how many parts there were) on Youtube, and it was a while ago. But to me, I can see why Mishal opted to do this role, because in reality it was as far removed from one dimensional as possible. He wasn't the perfect of beings, he had his flaws but that's what made him likeable and to a large extent relatable.
It also explains his interviews when he spoke about all the varied things his character would do: romance, fight etc. When I read those I was slightly confused. Wondering how on Earth will he do justice to these different roles. Alas I admit I assumed the character would be a botched up job. But when I watched him on screen. I instantly smiled. The layers gushed forth, and it was clear what Mishal had meant. Indeed he got to do a bit of everything, but rather than that being off putting, to speak the words of the law; Justice indeed had been served to each portrayal :)
Not sure how much that helps dear. But I tried :)
