Episode ~ 249

Kala & Sudarshan

Kala with remote in hand says, now who do I trust you Sudarshan?or that Chaskar? Sudarshan is most put off..and laughs nervously, what's there to think about Tai?she smiles slyly, which of you has the passion and courage to become Bhau? I should know shouldn't I ? Sudarshan says, me of course and Kala then passes him the remote.. here take it then! and write Bhau's destiny!..and Sudarshan says ,me? and Kala smiles slyly.. Sudarshan ,realizes that she wants him to be the one to kill Bhau.. he clearly is unwilling and says nervously, Tai I was about to say..and Kala looks at him and says, you were going to say.. that you want to become Bhau..but you are not prepared to take some serious responsibilities? and she offers him the remote and he takes it reluctantly.. much to her amusement ,while Sudarshan..says, I'll do it,Tai!, she orders him , keep in touch with me over the phone! and he says yes, and then leaves.. while she gives him a dirty look and gets on to the phone.. and rings Chaskar ,who gets excited by her phone.. what is it ? nameless bai ! he teases, didn't sleep all night, waited for your call, how soon can I sort Bhau out once and for all! tell me bai? what do I have to do? Kala reports , everything is going according to plan. My man has left with the remote. If there is a hitch then put plan B into place. the sound goes off as Kala talks about plan B with Chaskar. he says all the plan is ready but one bit you didn't do right what is the point of sending your man ?don't you trust Chaskar? if I gave you my word then I'll abide by it.. Dutta Bhau will be travelling by a four wheeler, and he'll return carried by four pall bearers.. and Kala wishes him, all the best Chaskar !

Dutta& Baji

While driving ,Dutta recalls his last arti moments with Naku.. how she kept a fast for him..and how she wished to tie a blessed thread around his wrist. Dutta drives his jeep.. in her room Kala plays an electronic game.. where she is a driver in a simulated race.. she pops her phone's speaker in her ear and then, in her mind she follows the track Dutta is meant to follow.. Baji is not to impressed by Chaskar setting up the meeting at some far off destination. Dutta agrees and says, next time you set up the venue with Chaskar.. Sudarshan follows Dutta's car at a safe distance and gives a first hand account of the progress to Kala on the phone. He is clearly nervous.. of pressing the button ,and says, he'll do it once they are out of ratna giri.. besides he'll get both of them Dutta and Baji..he is obsessed by finishing off Baji..

Aye and Naku

Both are before Bappa's idol. Aye Sahib says, all my wishes are nearly fulfilled bar one.. she says now if Dutta accepts you as his wife.. then all your prayers will be answered too. Naku feels the thread on her wrist and recalls how Dutta took arti from her.

Seema too prays...looks at the thread ,recalls seeing Dutta, passing by in his jeep. she says,now soon I'll tie this thread, that Naku gave around Dutta's wrist. she lights a diva .. Naku lights the diva at Patil Nivas.. Dutta drives, with the bomb under his car. Kala pulls a face waiting for news! With both women's divas lit before their deity, Dutta drives on. Sudarshan follows. Kala waits. Artis are done as Dutta's car weaves in and out of traffic... Sudarshan tailing them. Kala waiting and playing with her simulated evil game.. Kala ends her simulated game and orders Sudarshan, the time has come on press the button of the remote! He utters a reluctant yes . Dutta notices Sudarshan's car from his wing mirror. he asks Baji if it's Sudarshan's car.. and after Baji confirms it ,Dutta orders Baji to tell Sudarshan to return home for security reasons! Baji is reluctant , then Dutta explains, Baji you have to work with Sudarshan he would be your subordinate..this decree .. will go to the winds. As Dutta will not be around to see this in action.

Sudarshan cannot be got through toby Baji .. he is busy being pressurized by Kala to press the button.

A religious procession makes Dutta halt to let it pass.. Sudarshan too has to pull up next to Dutta's car. Baji says to him, tried to contact you, you need to turn back the home security is your responsibility! Kala can hear Baji's voice , via Sudarshan's phone! Sudarshan explains he was on the phone to Chaskar.. Dutta tells him clearly , me and Baji will meet Chaskar, you needn't worry and go home and monitor domestic security! Kala orders suds to press the remote I want to hear the blast! Sudarshan holds the remote, looks at Dutta's car which had just driven off as the procession passed.. Sudarshan mocks, Baji you were so keen to see me return home now watch, soon I will send you straight to the heavens. Sudarshan presses the button, Kala can hear it beep! But Sudarshan sees Dutta's car drive off in one piece! nothing happens.. Naku does the arti in PN. So does Seema in her house.. Sudarshan presses on but nothing! Kala looks angrily, she waited for the sound of a blast! but nothing! Sudarshan continues pressing ! but to no avail and Dutta progresses on in one piece. Sudarshan is about to throw the remote out of his driver's window when to his horror, he sees the bomb lying on the next to his car! ..it had fallen off and Dutta had driven off it! Sudarshan reports to Kala ..who wonders what could have gone wrong? then Sudarshan gets it.. from Kala.. Sudarshan is proved useless and incompetent! and Kala resorts to Chaskar and his gang of bikers.. who jumps at the chance of now proving his worth! and Chaskar's dare devils vroom off! and he says.. Dutta Bhau's end's countdown begins!

Dutta & Baji

Dutta car comes to a halt against a road barrier! Both of them have a suspicious look around just with their eyes.. there is thick foliage on both sides of the road. Suddenly Dutta looks from the rear mirror that closing barriers behind their car are rolled in! Dutta is blocked in both ways ahead and behind. Dutta watches from his wing mirror and yanks his neck.. as men behind him with manual ploughs stand behind his car ready to attack! More come and stand before his car with, spades, and hoes! Baji and Dutta watch... Dutta grips his steering wheel.. and muses, as both him and Baji wait for the men in front to come for them.. so the barrier in front is left slightly clear.. his hands on the steering he waits, as his fingers swirl upon the steering.. episode ends Hamlet53 18.8.14

An episode of great movement.. the track leaps for a change.. Dutta drives on, Kala, plays on ,prayers by Dutta's loved ones ascend to the heavens! Sudarshan moves down in Kala's eyes, while Chaskar makes it to the top! Dutta, Baji once again reaches for the top.

Episode ~ 250

4th January 2011

Dutta waits, reeves the accelerator , and rams ahead dispersing the men with menacing agricultural tools to the sides, and crashes through the barrier and away he goes his car dwindling and weaving due to force! But soon regains control! and speeds away from the ambush! They shoot but are too late as Dutta drives on like mad! one of the goons, informs Chaskar about Dutta's escape! Kala plays with the key board of her lap top with her game..

Within seconds Chaskar's hell's angels on bikes turn up on the bumpy terrain and follow Dutta's car ..till they swarm Dutta's car like a cloud of hornets!

At home Naku continues with the arti! In the car Dutta orders Baji, Baji get the gun out! Dutta swerves his car, but the bikers now shot at their moving target! Baji bends his elbow and shoots at the bikers from the passenger's window while Dutta drives on! Naku , Chanda do arti, Kala pulls a face on her screen simulation game. Dutta swerves and checks the bikers too.. Baji phones kaley for reinforcement says , we are around ratnagiri, send men we're under attack! The chase continues, and the bikers.. shoot at the boot of the swerving dwindling car! at home arti continues.. Seema /Chanda/Kala playing her game! the bikers shoot at the back grill the aim is to hit the petrol tank.. Naku prays for Dutta while doing arti.. two bikers close up on both sides of the front of the car.. the petrol tank gets shot and it leaks.. Dutta checks his sides the bikers hound him! suddenly he is shot at ,he ducks! Baji tilts his torso out of his window and bravely raises his arm and shoots at the bikers following them. Dutta drives on.. the tank leaks leaving a trail behind! Suddenly bikers shoot at both Dutta and Baji and Dutta driving gets shot in the arm! Naku does arti.. before Bappa like Chanda! and Dutta growls in pain awwwooo! Baji turns to him and urges, change sides and let me drive! you've been shot! Dutta yells, don't worry about me! you go I'll take a detour and loose them! Baji protests,I am not leaving you on your own! Dutta roars, we don't have time! you get off and get our men! Baji refuses vehemently and balances on the window ledge of the car's window and continues to aim at the bikers ,still hot on their heels! Dutta clutches on his wounded shoulder and drives and roars, why don't you get it Baji! it's imperative that one of us has to survive! who the hell is going to look after the family! gooo! and Dutta pushes Baji out the driven car.. and Baji goes rolling down the road side as Dutta drives off.. Baji finally hits his head against a small rock ! but still struggles onto his feet and yells frantically , Bhau! Bhau! In desperation he tries to phone kaley but he can't find it!

Dutta drives on followed by the bikers. Chanda does arti in her home! Naku in hers!

Dutta drives on his shoulder bleeding! with his arm bleeding he veers onto the mountain top , his wheels cutting and bumping through sharp small rocks! He struggles at the wheel! swerving in pain! till he turns sharply and his car gets to the dead end of the hill top.. underneath a valley.. across the pinnacle of the temple! his brakes fail he struggles to control his steering..arti's carry on for him ! his mouth distorts in horror! as he sees where he was going to end up! slowly his car is pivoted forward he sees the mandir and his car races headlong in the ravine, he's tossed, around in the car! the car tumbles ,rolls! He is thrown about as he is juggled forcefully. Last images of the beautiful Naku come before him! the car crashes down deeper and deeper into the valley.. Naku does arti before Bappa.. so does Chanda, Kala pulls a face impatiently!

Chaskar stands at the edge of the hill top and assesses the situation.. he can see the rubble of the mangled car, and he announces, now's the time to create a furnace..he shoots on the petrol leak of the Dutta's car! Dutta Bhau's end! and Chaskar Bhau's rising! The fire reaches Dutta's car.. there's a blast! and Naku's and Chanda's divas suddenly snuff out!

Kala gets a message on her game, YOU WON! Chaskar makes a video! Naku looks worried seeing the diva went out, Aye Sahib says, don't think of it as any omen.. the wind must have blown it out.. go light the diva under Bappa's statue , Naku your fast has ended today ,today when Dutta returns, I won't listen to him, he will have to perform worship before our domestic ,familial deities! Naku listens to Aye shyly.. Kala closes her lap top, gets a phone call from Chaskar.. he tells her Bhau has been burnt alive.. he can see the car burning! he's making a video of the scene.. it's the end of Dutta Bhau! Kala like a viper her eyes green with poison weep with joy.. Chaskar leaps with joy and says, he's born again as Chaskar Bhau!

Aye & Naku

Before Bappa's statue Aye explains to Naku.. out of the five elements, earth, water, air, space, fire... fire is the most pure.. in one form it's makes up the diya of the arti.. which relieves the pain of the devotees.. and on the other hand this very fire sets free the soul from the five elements and takes it toward's Mosha or liberation ! so now go my child show this arti's light to all the areas of this house, so no evil shadows can be cast on the joys of this house.. go child..

Kala & Naku

Kala stops Naku's path, gives her a evil smile. fire of hate smoulders between the two. Aye Sahib watches from far and smiles. Kala hisses, I am very happy for you Nakusha, your fast has ended, give me arti.. the fire may be the same, but it has many purposes.. in the form of a diva it gives you such tranquillity! and is calming ..you receive with it the hope of your prayers are being heard by the deities and answered isn't that so Nakusha? she taunts.. aye Sahib! let Bhau return home today , I'll tell him enough of bloodshed! now he needs to enjoy his married life with his wife! Naku rolls her eyes.. and goes toward's Dutta's room to show arti there.. Kala mocks and Aye Sahib says, I'll be cooking sweet for Dutta with my hands.. Kala revels , that all the people she hates will get great news today.. she continues to muse about the uses of fire.. and Nakuska! the same fire when it sets a heart alight.. then it's only snuffed out by burning the one who ignited it in the first place! you Nakusha ! meanwhile purify Dutta's room with the light of your diva.. go ahead, live a few more moments as Bhau's wife.. for the minute his body is being burnt.. when his ashes arrive home, they will bring darkness in your life! she says with a beaming smile..

Baji ..

Baji arrives at the scene and yells out Bhau! he calls out hysterically! He sees smoke smouldering and a furnace burning in the valley! He is bewildered! almost looks abandoned! He is confused and he goes running down to get a closer and sees the alight smouldering parts of Bhau's car. he can see the burning.. upside chassis of the car! surrounded by smoke and burning car parts Baji cries.. he has FB of himself and Dutta in the garage.. his recent apology to Dutta .. Dutta's roar, one of us have to survive Baji..how Dutta pushed him out of the car.. their drinking bouts at the adda ! Baji sobs.. Baji hugging Dutta after the watch incident.. the session at the bar, before they make up.. he wails, why have you left me alone? what will I tell Naku, Aye Saab?

Naku ..

She comes into his room, bringing the arti thali to purify the space, she looks around and cups her hand as the flame flickers.FB..saab! how shall called him back for arti and he came to her.. and stood before her, looking down into her upturned eyes.. she recalls her words to him ,when she was last in this room.. I have no right to be in this room.. now I 'll return when you call me.. Saab you still haven't called me back to this room.. but your every silence ,tells me that you want to call me back.. I know you will never say it. I know you will never say it but you need me..symbolic words..he will need her to galvanize his spirit toward's redemption and then forgiveness. That's why I have returned to this room. she waves her hand, and scatters the light of the diva.. the wind rustles and she imagines he's come into his room like he did when she stole his picture.. then she moves to his picture on the wall as the wind howls and rustles. She stands before his picture and says, Saab today I saw the same acceptance in your eyes..like before, the cobwebs of misunderstanding are clearing from your eyes.. my love is winning, all my prayers before Bappa are about to be answered.. my eyes are impatiently waiting to see you.. come home soon.. she smiles and moves closer to the picture and dabs a bit of kohl on her finger tip and applies it on his cheek ..she smiles at his wall mounted picture.. may no evil eye be cast on you..

A gust of wind blows and Dutta's pictures just crashes on the floor at Naku's feet and she looks in horror at hios picture on the floor.. episode ends Hamlet53~ 19.8.14

Despite the fact that this episode brought tears to my eyes.. it has to be one of the finest ,in terms of action, strategic planning and plotting.. tender yet heroic moments between Dutta and Baji are evident.. we get to see the kinds of dangers, attacks, ambush, shootout, car chase , facing the enemy ..that gangsters face day to day..

The editing was pretty good too ,Dutta's drive, being chased, interspaced by the women who pray for his protection.. the inclusion of which is enjoyed by viewers. A battle of righteousness and evil..

The best section for me was the bit where the play was on the word fire.. one glaring truth that is not talked about but is applicable is that for Kala it's the fire of hell in this life and also in the hereafter one too! ..

LTL Written Update

Episode ~ 251

5^th January 2011

Sudarshan

Arrives at the place of accident.. looks at the burning wreckage from the hill top. sees Baji mourning for Dutta and Sudarshan has his own agenda.. wants to shot Baji.. mocks at his friendship with Dutta.. he pulls out his gun to shot Baji but Kala's timely phone call stops him from pulling the trigger at Baji.. she asks him where he was? and Sudarshan replies, I am giving Dutta Bhau his last farewell. Kala lets him know that he has proved useless in the operation kill Dutta.. that it was Chaskar's plan B that ended Dutta's saga!

Sudarshan tells Kala that, Bhau's right hand man is bawling his eyes out.. feel like killing him too.. but Kala tells him don't do it! for who will break Dutta's news to the rest of the family.. you just bring Baji home, he's already finished, what's the point him of killing him? Sudarshan is robbed of his fun!

Baji comes home and Aye is shocked to see his head bleeding.. some man rings up and tells Aye Sahib of a good deed Dutta did for his family, helped his daughter get married.. now she has a son whom they have named Dutta! Aye Sahib says aloud, Dutta your generosity is boundless.. so many pray and bless you..you filled so many houses with happiness! now those joys I too want from you..a small little grandson!

Baji sobs and Sudarshan gives a mocking smile..Baji sobs and then Aye Sahib gets alarmed.. eventually he tells the family that Dutta's car was involved in a blast..the whole family gathers.. Kala. arrives to gloat over her conquest, fallen beaten army of Baji, Madhu, Kishore.. the pleasure she receives gives her life source.. then she wants Baji to give the minor details of the whole incident so she can cause maximum hurt to the pro Dutta camp.. much to her satisfaction , Baji relates all he can recall.. Kala feigns how did all this happen to Dutta Bhau ? you were with him! Baji of course says they were going to meet Chaskar.. Kala wanted his name to be insinuated..

Much to Kala's delight she notes that Aye Sahib is in a state of shock she does not believe the news Kala will now play another game regarding her mother's denial about Dutta 's death.. Naku comes into the lounge carrying the arti thalli.. sees Baji hurt and crying.. goes to him asks him what's wrong? and where was Saab? has he come home? why is every one silent ?like a snake Kala looks at her.. naku goes to Aye Sahib and asks her.. say something my heart is sinking. Why is every one silent? Answer me! then Kala digs her claw on Naku's shoulder and tells her, Nakusha... Dutta Bhau's car had a blast.. now he is no more.. Naku repulsed by her touch shrugs her hand and moves to Baji and asks him.. Baji tell me this is a lie.. Baji cries bitterly. Kala enjoys the scene thoroughly as Naku screams at Baji to speak! Baji nods.. it's true Naku's arti thali crashes to the floor. Naku gets hysterical and screams say , it's a lie ..aye Sahib begins to swoon.. naku recalls the ill omens, the flame being snuffed , and his picture crashing to the floor! The family rallies around Aye Sahib.. and Kala goes over to taunt Naku, keep a hold on your self Nakusha.. and Naku pushes her hands off her and storms off.. leaving Kala the snake to derive pleasure in her huge victory where her arch enemy is defeated badly!

Naku runs to Bappa's idol and falls before it .. Kala follows behind her to further gloat at her.

Naku questions, Bappa, why is everyone silent? At least you say something? say that all this is untrue , that my Saab! is fine.. speak Bappa! say something! suddenly a gust of wind blows through the house and all the flames in the lampstands around it are snuffed out and Naku looks puzzled.. say something Bappa and she sinks helplessly on the floor and screams at the idol say it Bappa my Saab is fine! that nothing has happened to him! how much more are you going to test me Bappa! Bappa you are my strength, and you will abandon? say it that all this news is a lie, and that my Saab is fine say it otherwise I'll never worship you again! speakbappa otherwise I'll remain here at your feet all night! Naku cries..

Kala looks down at a crying Nakusha pitifully..

Kala & Sudarshan

Drinks are in order.. Sudarshan says, Dutta was really courageous like a lion.. fought and resisted till death!! he says, can't believe it! seems like a dream , but saw Dutta's car burning, this time his enemy was someone from his own family a snake in the grass! as the saying goes , when danger is under one's nose, it's hard to SEE.. none suspects those close to you like family.. reference to sight.. Sudarshan says I am so happy ! I killed a lion today! and Kala gives him a sarcastic look ..you did?? he laughs ,no I meant you ,. Chaskar and me! Dutta Bhau is not Dutta Bhau but deceased Dutta shriram patil, Kala corrects him , no BIL, he was never Dutta shriram patil.. he was.. Dutta damodar patil! and Sudarshan yells exactly! Tai cheers! and she tells him to be quiet as the walls have both eyes and ears.. so keep your emotions and your voice under control.. no one should suspect us.. either in patil Wadi or in this house! everyone is grieving Dutta death ,including your wife Leela too.. so best you remain quiet and subdued.. advises Kala.. Sudarshan says ,yes that's fine ,but do we do about Chaskar? he is already dreaming to become Bhau! episode ends Hamlet53~ 19.8.14.

A sad episode for Dutta loyalists , his mother, wife ,and comrade.. but glory and celebratory one for his victorious enemies.. the leader now is in a position to assess the spoils of the attack and check a beaten army of the pro Dutta camp. Their anguish and grief is Kala's real trophy..
