LTL Written Update

Episode~ 94

6th May 2010

The episode continues from the point where Naku gets slapped by Kala. Kala yells at her, ungrateful wretch! have you no shame! you broke my Bhau's heart you ruined his life! why ? Naku fumbles, to speak, Tai .. and Kala shoves her finger in her face, now why won't you speak! why does your tongue falter? Speak up!.. Naku shakes her head, I haven't done anything Tai! I told Supriya Tai not to stop the car, everyone will be waiting for us at home, how was I to know what was going through her mind? Then the explosion happened, I thought she was in the car, but I couldn't do anything, Naku defends her self. But Kala gives her visual daggers, and gives her arms a good shake, you couldn't do anything? what more can you do! haven't you done enough! you are the same girl who saved my Bhau's life? that's why we gave you refuge here! and Aye Sahib this is the girl you shower your love on! calling Naku! Naku for her! this is the very girl who has betrayed your trust! you helped my brother's fianc to elope! Dutta Bhau's fiance! and who else has done all this? Kala turns and glares at Babi ,your daughter did! this girl!.. Kala ensures that all the crowd knows what Naku's crime is! she forcefully repeats her words, and makes sure the crowd also knows who Naku's mother is too! people talk , gawd !this girl has betrayed Dutta Bhau! Naku opens her mouth to defend herself, as she looks at Babi , Aye .. Kala intercepts like a hissing snake why did you do this? why did you poison my Bhau' life? Naku insists , there must be a mistake, I haven't done anything! she pleads before Kala and all present.Kala barks in her face we have a misunderstanding ? then what is this? she says as he holds up the note! This is the proof of your deed! Supriya's letter [Kala informs every one!]Supriya has acknowledged your favour! then she spitefully waves the letter in Babi's face, Supriya has praised your daughter!. Then Kala throws the letter at Naku's feet! Babi is visibly upset about this revelation of Naku's involvement in the matter.Roops and Leela smile and then Leela closes in on Naku like the enemy. While everyone around looks at Naku , now it's Leela's turn to read the letter aloud to friends and family at large...Naku be blessed who helped me runaway ! so according to Kala's instructions the focus and pressure is still kept on Naku as the condemned culprit guilty as proved on the basis of this letter's evidence.

Babi cannot take this and despite Ganpat's suggestion to stay out of this , she moves towards Naku and shakes her by the shoulders too, what is all this? why does this letter have your name on it? areee! what have you done? say something! yells Babi, and Naku looks at her mother stunned into silence., then Naku repeats her plea, Aye I have not done anything! I swear by you! I don't know anything! Ganpat comes forward shaking his head, one can never trust these woman folk! Babi glares at him, but he tells Naku off, have you lost it or what? what have you done! have you no shame! he raises his hand to slap her! but Babi intervenes...and he continues aree speak up say what it is? Kala enjoys Naku being torn apart by her own family. Naku cries, Aye! and looks around helplessly. Kishore with a scowl turns to his wicked wife and she shoots his advances back with her snakes eyes full of threat and venom for him in them, and he moves back from her.. but she goes towards him and hisses , you don't meddle in this. Naku cries I didn't help any one! I swear on you Aye ! and she points to Kala and then herself, I only.. Kala goes to her again, so you mean to say, this letter is a lie? humm! and she grabs Naku's hair cruelly from the side of her face, you betrayed my Bhau! and Kala grabs Naku's head in both her claws! And shakes her head violently and threatens , you wait and watch what I do to you! wait! shouts Dutta.

wait!.. Dutta arrives with pots of fires ablaze on both his sides. Babi gives a sigh of relieve , as she thinks Dutta Bhau will iron out the misunderstanding now. Dutta stands gun in hand and looks at all. Naku turns her head which is still in Kala's grip. Kala much worried looks at his angry face.. she checks out his sympathy for a crying Naku... Dutta does glare.. and Kala let's go of Naku's neck and pushes her to the side. Naku and Dutta look at each other.. he can see her helpless tears and she can see his broken heart in his sad eyes. Slowly with fire before him he moves forward to Naku and all look worried as the lion approaches the lamb. He stands before her , his head tilted to the side, with a perplexed and questioning expression.

Kala stands between them looking from one to the other. She enjoys Naku and Dutta's pain... she looks up at him and says Bhau !decide this girl's fate! give her such a severe punishment that she will remember it for her seven lives and may never

repeat this mistake again! Dutta glares down into Naku's face full of disgust and hatred. Kala insists, pronounce her sentence Bhau! let her go through her punishment! Let her know what you do to traitors! a frightened Sethji runs to his mother and hugs her in fright. Kala waits for Bhau .

Baji too comes forward and stands beside Dutta. Naku looks at Dutta and begs, Saab please listen to me.. Kala flies like a vulture forward and grabs Naku's arm! and violently pushes Naku back! what? what should he listen to? I'll pull your tongue out and feed it to the dogs! don't you dare utter a single word out of your mouth! Kala threatens Naku with her finger pointed in her face! from now on Kala will bully Naku before all ! her game plan is to sound angry at her brother being betrayed but the real reason is to shut Naku up before Dutta.

Baji! speaks up , Bhau hear her out once. Kala gives Baji daggers, Baji reminds Bhau you always give traitor the chance to defend himself.. let her speak today, Baji says firmly, let none say then, that Dutta Bhau didn't even allow her one chance to speak for herself..but Dutta puts his palm in Baji's face, and looks at Naku coldly.. Naku cries, Saab why would I do such a thing? what's going on I don't understand myself? I swear on my Aye, on Sethji ! swear on my babaa, Saab I am not lying she cries.. Dutta stares at her face with stony eyes, I did not help any one! she cries hysterically...Tai I didn't help any one! Saab I didn't help any one ! why would I help anyone? You know the whole truth , that I always wanted that you should marry Supriya Tai! she reaches out for his arm tell Kala , Saab! asking for Dutta's support but he pulls his arm from her hand! and she looks at his cold face and cries. Kala watches Dutta's face with great interest. He frowns upon her. She repeats I told you myself to marry Tai! I wanted that you to forget your past and start life fresh, so why would I do this Saab! you told me all that was in your heart, she reminds him , and his face fills with pain.. I was like a friend.. and Dutta raises his finger up her! it was clear now that their friendship had now ended. Dutta's sisters gloat. He moves his palm to the side of his face and turns to look away from her face. Naku stands alone now in this house and she looks around in dismay, at all the faces looking upon her accusingly. She turns to Dutta , I'll give my life! and he glares at her angrily! But I'll never betray you! she cries and he looks at her in complete disbelief. She cries as she folds her hands before Kala and Dutta , I would never do such a thing! I can never betray Saab! I can never betray you Saab she weeps believe me Saab! Dutta sighs ... and closes his eyes.. he looks at her again mockingly... how can I think ill of you Saab? she pleads and Kala snubs her .. aree shut up! what worth are you any way to think bad for my Bhau! you are nothing but a maidservant! and even then you have the guts to conspire against my Bhau!.. we have evidence against you! this letter! which is enough!..kala is reminding Dutta of what Naku has done.. she keeps watching Dutta , is very aware that he may melt down before Naku's tears, hence she keeps talking about evidence, conspiracy .. betrayal..

She looks at Dutta's face and then suddenly starts giving the audience some more evidence against Naku...one minute! you have carried out a huge conspiracy against us, Aye sahib !do you remember this girl used to stick to vahini! why? what was so urgent that you were constantly by Supriya? Naku looks petrified and Kala pulls her roughly by her arm , you listen to me! she shouts loook into my eyes and tell me! why were you always stuck to Supriya! Kala peers into Naku's face like a snake.. humm? too much love for my Bhau's would be wife? Kala is bullying Naku to say that they had tried to run away before. she is using pressure tactics on Naku .. enclosing her from all directions.

Naku looks at Kala's face confused. She is tongue tied, now hesitant.. and Kala knows why.. so she probes Naku.. Aye Sahib told you not to go to the old well.. did she or did she not? but even at that point too you insisted that you will go to the well!

I'lll goo! she mimics Naku! I'll go and help Supriya Tai! was this your help? now I understand your help! where ever Supriya went you were joined to her hip! speak up this is what you wanted that Supriya should runaway with Ravindra?? Shouts Kala! what did you want? cross examines Kala. Naku defends herself I didn't want this! I used to stay with Supriya so that she couldn't runaway! Confesses Naku and Kala has her victory nearly... Dutta is all ears. and then Naku tells Dutta , Saab ! they run away one time before!!! Dutta is dumbstruck! His jaw drops his mouth apart!... Baji is shocked!.

Precap: next week~ more evidence against Naku is gathered..

For starters.. what hit me most in this episode and which will probably stay with me is the feeling.. that the poor and lowly are vulnerable! They don't have a leg to stand on. Naku is reminded of her sordid existence..she is manhandled, roughed up , physically bullied to no end! by Kala who makes a beastly sport of attacking and torturing Naku before all.

It is appalling to see a poor maidservant in a den of hungry lionesses ..

Kala totally overpowers the characters. The more she roars, and plays her evil game the more she reduces Dutta's power and stature certainly in the department of working out clues and thinking out for himself. He allows Kala to influence him openly. Where ever he appears to give ear to Naku's pleas , Kala swoops down on him and beguiles him.

In fact no one dares to challenge Kala, it's like she is unstoppable as far as gobbling Naku alive is concerned. This Naku was one guttersnipe who dared to meddle and thwart Kala 's game plans against Dutta. Kala has a bone to pick with Naku ..she saved Dutta's life twice..and now it was time to teach this maid Naku a lesson once and for all ! plus torture Bhau as well along side, show him his trust worthy Naku has betrayed him.

Also there is even more of screen space given to Kala's dirty filthy deeds.. ohh how evil prospers...
