Episode ~59

18th March 2010

Sangeet~ continued

The episode picks up from the point ,where Baji is trying to convince Dutta to make his way to the terrace. Dutta is not persuaded and Baji eventually tells the truth, Bhau someone is waiting for you..this obviously sparks Dutta's interest and he does ask who?.. although, Dutta is not such an ass .. he doesn't need rocket science to know who it is? but he being Dutta Bhau , declines the idea and turns to leave.. Baji pulls his arm and threatens, come on Bhau otherwise I'll tell vahini to sing another song for you.. Dutta spins ready to smack Baji, at the foolish suggestion. Baji chivvies him, and Dutta gives in, pockets his phone and goes.. humm, and Baji echoes humm humm.. as he ensures Dutta who heads for the terrace.

Terrace Scene

The ordinary terrace has transformed into a romanticized setting.. complete with red decor .. red the color of blood , red the color of passion.. Naku lights up red candles with a red taper candle, in a candelabra; also in red glass candlelit lamps .. Arranges red roses.There stands near the entrance to the terrace, a marble statue of a naked female figure to tease Dutta's amorous sentiments .. candles flicker, soft flimsy transparent drapes hang elegantly to create romantic ambience.. red cushions invite lovers to lounge on the cosy swing.. prompting nearness to the lovers.. Naku walks around to oversee the arrangement and then lights up the red candles in the candelabra, with a content smile. The table surrounded by white wrought iron painted garden seating.. is ready with covered platters of food for the couple. Naku looks around smiling and then blows out the taper and looks up to the at the milky orb of the full moon in the night sky.. she smiles again and slowly gets up and walks away from the terrace ..

Dutta climbs the main stair case.. heading towards the terrace.. he stops and turns behind and looks around.. sheepishly... then takes stop and start at the stairs.. he recalls Baji's words , come on Bhau someone is waiting for you..he felt he was doing something naughty.. so he looks over his shoulder again.. Dutta the shy man .. he remembers in FB, how Supriya begs his forgiveness earlier on by pulling her ears ..is Dutta the man.. having a melt down?.. and he takes another step upwards.. and a few more..then something happens.. a coincidence ..

Dutta ..Naku

Naku comes towards the stairs from the terrace.. and her eyes fall on the otherwise stiff upper lipped Dutta coming up the stairs.. Naku has a mischievous smile on her face... Baji peeps from behind a golden statue.. down stairs and gives Naku standing on the landing a thumbs up!

Dutta climbs till he gets to the top of the stairs wearing a scowl.. and startles, his mouth opens as he sees Naku standing before him smiling. He quickly moves his face the other way, as if caught red handed at some naughty deed. Then in a split of a second he faces her and asks, how is your Aye feeling? a taken aback Naku replies confused, Aye ? when did she fall sick?.. he turns his head, to check if anyone is about.. and then turns to her and asks, and your brother? he is going to school isn't he?. Naku nods her head smiles and says, go on Saab.. stop stalling, and in a huff he turns his face to the side. and Naku adds, someone is waiting for you.. and he takes a deep breath and says that idiot Baji has told every one! and Naku giggles, and asks, you'll go won't you? and he growls , NO! and turns his body to the side.. Naku looks tense... and says ok , then shall I lay your food with every one else?. and he sulks and with a glare, nods and mutters , hummmh!...and Naku walks past his tall imposing frame and starts to go down the stairs. Baji,disappointed, feels the back of his head ,annoyed.. Dutta looks to the side and with a scowl looks at the terrace and goes towards it.. Naku descends ,then stops and turns to look back at him..and with a smile she sees that he had gone and continues going down .. Baji waves , with a big smile.

Dutta & Supriya

Dutta enters the terrace area. His eye roves and he takes in the transformed setting.. the candles and the low lights.. and he finally stands in front of the door.. his hands in his pockets.. he looks ahead and sees the figure of a woman standing with her back towards him.. against the white trellis railing. His eyes fall on her blouse which exposes her bare back... with a tied up string just above her shoulder blades... her black plait is weaved with twisted rows of jasmine buds. Dutta narrows his eyes as he holds on to the opening of his waistcoat. Slowly the woman turns coquettishly to face him.. and Dutta with a firmed mouth , simply lowers his eyes.. Supriya gives him a smile , as she sees him standing before the terrace door, she moves towards him, throws her plait behind her.. he watches her.. as an animal watches.. another animal. Ravi quickly moves and stands at a strategic point from where he can watch both of them.. Supriya nears Dutta with a smile and Dutta stands firm and stiff. Supriya stops before him and looks up at him all tearful and besotted.. and his eyes look down on her..she says.. I am glad you came ... he looks down and blinks at her, she continues, I wanted to spend some time with you.. look at the moon.. he lowers his eyes, his face serious, she continues, how beautiful it looks.. I thought I want to see you in the light of the moon.. Dutta glares at her, her words don't impress him but she continues , I thought the moonlit night will relax you .. and perhaps you will forgive me.

Dutta raises his palm to emphasize, Supriya I am not angry with you. but... before he finishes she places her palm on his raised palm.. and his hooded eyes look at her hand and he immediately bends his fingers ..and she tearfully looks up at his face and asks, but what?... he moves his face to the side, closes his lips and then moves his face back to her , gulps and says, let's eat... and with his left hand folded on his waist coat, he walks away towards the little table for two. She glares at his back and then follows him to sit.

He sits , and she sits on the opposite garden sofa and looks at him lovingly in the flickering candle light..shyly she uncovers the platters , and says flirtingly, on one condition.. he turns to face her quizzically, .. that I'll feed you the first morsel of food.. he looks at her face , thinks and says , NO. She feels snubbed in her moves, and says sadly , you're still angry with me ..are you never going to forgive me?. He thinks and says , calmly , no it's not like that.. she tries her luck again and ensnares him with a smile and says, if that's true then just have at least have one bite from my hand! Dutta looks at her pleading face and nods his head once. Supriya breaks a morsel and he turns to her hand.. and with difficulty accepts the morsel offered by her in his mouth; lowers his eyes and chews.. Ravi peeps from the vantage point and sees this as a start to taming the LION Supriya looks past Dutta's slightly bowed head , at Ravi who gives her an encouraging thumbs up!

Dutta chews and has a FB..of Seema bringing tiffin for him.. feeding him , how he used to nip her fingers when being fed... how she screamed ouch!.. Dutta 's face twists in pain and he haul himself up to his feet! and he stands before a worried Supriya.. his nostrils wrinkle , his lips twiste as he draws in air and shrugs his head in rage.. pulls his lips right down and turns around and moves away from the table.. to the side of the terrace where Ravi is hiding.. Supriya in panic calls him.. listen! and then catches up with him, .. Ravi shows up between the curtains and urges her to get on with it! with a show of his hand. and she carries on.. I want to say something to you.. and he says a muffled.. hummm. she says , I know I have hurt you badly.. that day you came.. you told me how you felt..you promised me.. FB , once I call someone mine, I stand by that person, this is not Dutta shriram patil's word but your would be husband's... But I couldn't say anything to you.. Dutta interrupts her, Supriya I speak in a straight forward and plain manner , I don't beat around the bush. She is stuck in what to say and she looks at Ravi who raises his hand to hold on.. and she like a prat! says for the sake of giving him an answer, I didn't know this.. I didn't know that whatever you say , you say it with sincerity .. on the outside you look very tough, but inside your heart is fragile like a flower.. she ensnares him with her smooth sleazy nonsense. With contracted eyes he says , you have no idea what my heart is like..it's the same thing he said to Naku regarding pain.. you have no idea what pain is.. Dutta's deep distrust of people becomes evident.. he has this feeling that he is the world's most emotionally bruised man with a severed heart.. nobody could be worse off than him.. is this because time has stopped for him in that one moment of being rejected.. and hence he eternally suffers from low esteem?

Supriya of course hasn't a clue of his initial heartbreak, yet she carries on weaving her web of deceit around him..like a busy spider... she replies, a woman can understand a man's heart, only she finds it difficult to express.. Dutta listens with a cynical expression on his face... and she continues , I saw something in your eyes every time I was attacked.. but after that day I was so frightened! that I couldn't give you an answer.. but today erhhh, and he says, humm .. do you want to say any more? and nervously she looks at Ravi for assistance, and he by his hand signal's her to carry on. Dutta turns to leave and Supriya puts her hand on his shoulder..and literally cringes, as he stops and looks down. Then he begins to glare.. her hand slips away from his shoulder, and she says, today I want to give you my word.. from today , I wish to start my life with you.. Ravi nods from his hiding place.. as Dutta stands quiet and serious faced. .. she goes on I want to take our relationship to a new level from today.. unknowingly I have hurt you many times, maybe I don't even deserve your forgiveness.. but I vow , that I will win your trust with my love! and shocked Dutta turns to face her and pierces her faces with his eyes .. muses, then turns to leave.. and she feigns a choking cough... has a coughing fit before him to stop him from leaving. He looks at her and says, I'll get some water, and walks to the table. She looks to Ravi who mouths desperately , go to him! and choking she goes to him as he pours a glass of water. Supriya clears her throat as Dutta gives her the glass of water.. he stands over her ..watches her as she drinks water. She looks into his eyes and says, will you give me another chance?..pl... Dutta looks downwards, looks up into her eyes and then suddenly turns and leaves... in anger she bangs the glass of water on the table!

An impatient Baji waits at the staircase.. for Dutta to return from the terrace. He wants to act natural.. so he practices to talk business to someone on the phone... Dutta comes on the landing , and he has a FB of Supriya giving him a commitment that she wishes to spend her life with him..she asks.. will you give me another chance?..he moves his face to one side his lips relaxed. Baji spots him from the bottom of the stairs and pulls his phone out and starts yelling at some guy on the other end... hey how long are you going to hide from me? you'll come out someday nd when you do! I'll fit a few bombs in your brain to make it work! he yells. Dutta pulls Baji's phone away from his ear and pulls it flap and hands it over to Baji with a furious face.. Baji looks at his friend a bit disappointed and asks confused, it's over so soon ? .Dutta points his warning finger at Baji, and then walks past him and goes down the stairs.. Baji follows him, yelling.. I meant you finished food so quickly, how was it? was it good.. Dutta smiles shyly and says, yes.. and carries on going descending the stairs but Baji coaxes him.. hey Bhau! won't you tell me?.. moon lit night and you and vahini! wow! Bhau won't you tell me what your heart feels and he nudges, Bhau with his shoulder, hope didn't hit you hard! he jests. and Dutta retorts shall I land you one! Dutta stops and looks at Baji sideways and says, look.. just let me be by myself for a bit..ok.. and he goes off and Baji sings... lonesome you go.. take me along.

Supriya & Ravi

Ravi touches Supriya from the back. Panicked she turns ,thinking it's Dutta but it turns out to be Ravi. They smile at each other, she clears her throat ahem! and asks, what did you think about my love? he smiles it was terrific! simply superb! ..if you carry on like this.. in two days he will be wagging his tail before you.. this Dutta.. after that even if you give him poison with your own hand he will drink it smilingly..

A moaning Supriya says, I fed that hoodlum with this hand ! it still smells of blood! and Ravi holds it and gives it kiss and she presents her 0ther hand as she says, and this hand I laid on his shoulder! and he held it and kissed it again.. they both stand before each other and just smile.. she smiles shyly and leaves eventually..

Dutta's den

Dutta stands before his French window looking out.. deep in thought... again Supriya 's FB of wanting to start a new life with him ,comes up.. softens him.. parallel comes to his mind, that era ten years ago where he , tells Seema that he has to earn loads of money , to buy a shack ,then, marriage to her and then a football team.. that dead love feeling was raising it's head again in him... his face becomes grim and sullen again..

Naku enters his room, holding a tray of food. She smiles as she notes his usual position of standing near the long window and gazing out..

Dutta feels a presence and turns his head to catch her smiling face holding a tray with both hands. He half turns his face puzzled.. what's the matter? he asks..then raises his eyes and asks, what have you brought? Without replying she sets the tray down on the centre table as he watches her from where he stands...then blinks as he sees her uncover the food.. carefully arranged in portions. Once done she stands and looks at him and with open mouth and relaxed face Dutta gazes at the food from far. ..and casually questions her, who asked you to bring food? she nods , nobody told me, I brought it on my own accord. Amused he turned and walked away from the window ..slowly and stood near the table. She moves the tray and challenges him, I know you haven't eaten anything. He peers into her face , with a small slanted smile..and moves and sits on the arm of his single settee. ..and lightly says , really? and she asks innocently , tell the truth, you didn't eat did you? Tai must have tried to feed you but you must have refused. He points his finger at her to disagree, I did eat one morsel! and then quickly folds his menacing finger. Naku laughs, one bite ! won't even fill up Anay! my Aye says the more a person gets angry the more food he needs to eat! he smiles and teases her, your Aye has taught you everything, except to be silent! he says with a roll to his narrow eyes. Naku retorts , she tells me to be silent but she herself cant remain silent! once the train leaves the station then the train just carries on non stop! she carries on talking non stop!.. and Dutta gives a broad cheek to cheek smile! and Naku too laughs when she sees his happiness... she says we woman, we don't keep anything in our hearts, we just say it.. Supriya said .. as a woman I keep feelings in my heart, don't express them.. Dutta once again smiles at Naku's statement.. but she reminds Dutta , Saab eat your dinner, one can't sleep on an empty stomach. ..and he gives her a challenging look..and moves from the handle to the seat and looks at her face ,showing her he'll do as she wants.. Naku asks there was a nice breeze blowing on the terrace? and did you see the moon? and the stars? smell the fragrance of the flowers?..it was all so beautiful wasn't it?. he looks up at her wondering.. and then asks ,how do you know about all this?.. she hesitates and then admits, it's because I decorated the terrace.. Dutta is at a loss of words, and Naku asks, didn't you like it? .. you did like it? isn't it?.. when you one is in love the world looks beautiful...Dutta brings a spoonful of the sweet to his mouth , as Naku continues, the moon looks beautiful, one feel good when the breeze touches one.. love makes one forget all the past pains and the world looks beautiful isn't that true Saab ? and he replies I don't know...here again Naku is encouraging him to move and away from the past.. Naku wants him to give himself another chance.

Naku teases him, Saab ! you can hide it from me but I know that even you have fallen in love.. you are in love , I can see it ..and Dutta while eating the dessert stiffens..and asks I may be in love.. what do you mean ?..and Naku becomes silent... episode ends Hamlet53 16. 11,13
Precap~ the krangi episode...

I believed I would actually hate this episode.. but have to say found it revoltingly engaging. It is like a film, wherein the leading lady/vampy villainess has to be Supriya .. Dutta the tragic hero and Naku his faithful councillor. Ravi of course is the watchful director/scritp writer of the film who directs the ins and outs of the scene.

The scene is all about Dutta who is like a lamb led to slaughter. It's tragic despite his awareness of being alert of not being duped by any one , any more in life.. the scene is a classic one where as Ravi puts it to Supriya .. entice him and ensnare him in your trap story line comes true before our very eyes..

Supriya smiles, says her dialogues brilliantly! till she finally gets him where she wants..in her grip. No wonder she was given the best actress award by Ravi..

The terrace meeting is sandwiched between Dutta's enjoyable meetings with Naku. compare Dutta's disposition, his facial impressions, his temperament ..in his meeting with Supriya. With Supriya he is grim, unfriendly rude to the extent of not even giving her eye contact.. with Naku his face is relaxed .. he smiles, jokes, and there is a twinkle in his eye.. and he engages in conversation with her. One feels at the end of the episode that he needed the brief chillaxing moment with Naku after his harrowing meeting with Supriya where he feels something is not quite right but cannot put his finger on what it is?

Ends on a sad note.. has Dutta been make a sucker?
