hi fiz, I think its also because the poor girl already likes someone else..
btw ridhi coming in naach.. have to say I have star plus, in the promos i have seen, she looks fantastic, and not bad dancer as well ,both husband and wife.. great chemistry they share. will watch for this pair.. and ridhi also comes across to me as bright lady too, not dumb.

Gratification is what I feel when I read your engrossing WUs, your expressionistic style of writing, and your 1st/2nd/3rd person (as appropriate) perspective snippet on one or more of the characters' physical, mental, moral, spiritual or social qualities relevant to the specific episode.

Your WU will now add much more vivid and detailed content to the existing original daily WUs written with enduring and arduous dedication, a timeless credit to all those wonderful creative writers.

Hoping you will be able to continue with the WUs for as long as you can. As I see it, even if there is only 1 person posting a reply or clicking the like button, someone is reading. In my opinion it should never be considered a repetition but together with the other archived daily WUs, your episodic WUs are a substantial addition that gives the reader more descriptive vivid accounts of the story written with evocative imagery that enhance clarity and insight to this everlasting story.

Would it be possible to ask one of the DT's (swati2008 or maybe even Yuvika_15) if this thread can be made a sticky thread that can be archived under the Laagi Tujhse Lagan Forum Important Topics?

Episode ~43

24th February 2010

Outhouse

Episode starts when Naku returns to her room carrying the gift bag. She closes the door behind her and her eye falls on the big teddy bear propped up on a chair against the wall. Memories of a recent incident involving it brings a naughty smile on her lips and she approaches it and presses the red heart that reads I love you ..of course she presses the red heart around the bears neck and it says loudly, I love you! and Naku comes out with a gleeful giggle, and repeats her action for repeated mirth. She looks down into the gift carrier and smiles, then turns to look at the dresser mirror in the room. Gradually, she moves to the mirror and sits down before it..she finds the dusky koel, Naku before herself in the reflection. Her palm feels her face , as she puts the carrier on the edge of the dresser. With the corner of her pallu, she begins to wipe off the dark layer of covering on her face. She continues to wipe her sharp features till she achieves the result she desires. This is her time to be with the real her.. yet again.. finally she wipes clean her complete face and neck, with her chunni, and puts it aside. She reaches out for the bindi packet and picks a tiny round bindi to enhance the gap between her shapely black eyebrows, on her forehead. She smiles at herself, then shyly, reaches out for the two toned chunni, turquoise and navy blue that Saab gifted her... it's interesting how the two tones of the veil matches the theme of the Naku's dual complexion.

Naku swirls the pretty chunni around her shoulders and slowly rests it on the top of her head. She makes it engulf her beautiful real face. Her eyes look dreamily in the mirror and... she sees him in the store, coming from the side, standing behind her holding the chunni in his hands. Naku feels the bangles on display, as he brings forward the chunni before her. With a tilt to his head, he asks, this, do you like it? , Naku looks down at the chunni he holds , and then slowly turns her face to look into his hooded , narrow eyes, Saab , no.. but he says with a nod, but I like it.. scarf.. a scarf named after me..shall I put it on you? she looks up at him expectantly with her bold doe eyes. he swirls the scarf and puts it on her head, she looks down shyly and he turns around by shoulders to face him, as he looks down at her with a besotted smile, you look very beautiful, the most beautiful girl in the world.. she looks into his eyes, as he smiles and tenderly palms aside her hair from her forehead. Naku gives his lingering index finger on her cheek a sided look... as he continues to gaze upon her beauty. His forefinger folds and he props her chin up slowly.. his narrow tender eyes look deeply into her big bold eyes, and gradually his gaze moves to her smiling petal soft lips..

Naku with dreamy eyes looks on at her reflection.. chunni on head ,caressing her fair face.

The door suddenly opens, and she turns her head towards the door.. with a dazed expression!

Babi carrying a bundle of clothes is equally baffled. Naku lowers her eyes, due to how she appears to her mother. Panicked Babi turns around to close the door. Then shaken she moves to Naku and chides her , this! have you gone mad? during the day you have changed the hue of your face! if some had seen you what then?, Naku sits unmoved by her Aye's words.. Babi notices the chunni, this scarf? where did you get this from?..in a trance Naku replies , still looking into the mirror, it's mine.. Dutta Sahib has given it.. Babi asks, what? why? Naku in a dreamy tone replies, I helped him that's why.. Babi shifts her eyes, and then warns , keep it as a reward from the boss! when masters are pleased with their servants they hand out rewards, scarves, beaded necklace.. She turns and sees the bear!, and this bear? did he give you this bear as well?.. Naku refuses to reply , and Babi becomes angry, listen to me carefully Naku! don't think much of this, have got it?, I repeat myself! generosity and love are two different things just be aware! look Naku! this madness of yours is getting out of hand! also this man you are dreaming about! he is getting engaged today, you get that Naku? snap out of it! Naku replies, I understand , I am in my senses...Saab will never even look at me...I know that. Irate, Babi pulls off the chunni from Naku 's head and throws it across the floor , where it lands in a heap!.Naku looks at it , visibly upset. Babi yells, because of your madness! we'll all have to suffer! yes if people find out the truth about your face! we'll be kicked out of this house! and there Morey like a hungry dog will sniff around for us!. she pulls Naku up by the arm and shouts, Naku! Naku! come to your senses! and puts Naku's old chunni around her neck, and instructs, go and put back the colour on your face, and remember, why we are in this house! just remember! now go!, and Babi turns from her daughter and opens the door for Naku to leave, for her jobs!

Naku watches her mother leave, and without covering her face up ,she leaves the room in a dream like state...the chunni, her dreams, lie crumpled on the floor behind her.. as she moves on like a zombie ,past the kitchen door..She walks past the kitchen appliances and then suddenly notices her face reflected in a round silver platter, left to dry on the drainer on the side of the sink. She looks around and behind her in alarm ,as she hears the sound of high heels outside the kitchen. She feels her cheeks with her palms, much worried and thinks...

Kala and Leela, head towards the kitchen. Nakusha !she hears her name called and she looks about in horror, and stands before the sink with her back to the door... she looks down at her dark hands, it was her face that was fair.. her own..

Kala enters and asks, a glass of water.. Leela says iced water.. Naku panics.. but remains still. Kala looks across to her back and says, Nakusha! and Leela too calls out Nakusha !but Naku stands still, and Leela says, Tai why won't she turn? look at her she's just standing there. Kala says , Nakusha.. but she refuses to turn.. and Leela says , even after you called her she still won't turn!. Annoyed Kala moves towards Naku ,and says, are you hard of hearing ?.. but Naku still has her back to the sisters. Eventually Kala grabs her shoulder and turns Naku around..and both sisters are speechless at what they see! Naku's face is covered with turmeric paste! Her eyes lowered! Leela laughs, what's this Nakusha ?? you think you'll turn fair by using these herbs?.. and sneeringly they both turn away and leave! Naku raises her eyes and moves them around... thankfully saved.. this time!

The Engagement

There is a buzz of activity on the ground floor of PN..helpers carrying baskets of good will celebratory tokens go up the main staircase. Guests stand and wait and watch out for the ceremony to begin. Supriya sits on a backless curved sided sofa surrounded by her Sils from both sides. She sits serious and unsmiling.

Dutta comes out on the stairway landing dressed in a turquoise sherwani, holding his hands before him. His mother accompanies him down the curved staircase.

Aye Sahib receives Shinde and his wife, Supriya's Aye babaa. Ganpat moves over to Babi and tells her, they are Supriya's mum and dad.. Shinde greets Dutta who in turn greets them. Supriya looks across to her parents, and gets up and walks briskly towards them stands before her mother who admires her daughter. Supriya looks at her with great sadness in her eyes and then hugs her mother and clings to her. Dutta looks puzzled as he looks on from far at Supriya 's reunion with her parents. All look on and smile, they probably envisage that she is clingy , because she was away from them for a few days..

Baji moves over to Supriya's father's side and asks, greetings uncle, where is your man , who will be Supriya's body guard? Shinde replies, yes he has come , he's a very ,sensible, loyal, and intelligent man, he's from our village. Dutta listens from far

People keep coming in from the entrance. Then finally behind a couple , follows in the body guard walking smartly into the house. He pauses briefly near the entrance and moves his eyes around to scour the house... Shinde assures Baji , he was behind us , must be on his way now.. and he moves his neck to the entrance and spots the man , there he is ! and Dutta lifts his face up as Baji looks past Shinde...to this body guard.

Supriya while she hugs her mother, raises her eyes and sees him! and he looks at her.. while Supriya digests who her body guard is.. Leela nudges Baji and asks, whose he? Baji replies, Supriya vahini's body guard. Supriya recovers from her surprise..and parts with her mother's neck. Baji walks up to the body guard... and gives him a visual scrutiny .. places his arm on the man's shoulder, so you are the sensible, loyal, and intelligent man..Ravindra. The man says yes. Baji says ,come! and takes charge of him...

Aye Sahib, invites Supriya's parents to start the ceremony. Her mother takes her towards the stage. Both the girl and boys close family relatives progress towards the area where Supriya and Dutta are to sit beside each other, for the rituals to begin. Supriya is brought by her mother on the stage to the sofa, and Dutta by his mother. All look on at the couple. Supriya looks unhappy and uneasy, and Dutta looks apprehensive. Both sets of parents beam with smiles, as do Naku's parents, Kishore and Sudarshan.

Baji escorts Ravi in , and from a distance shows him the couple Dutta and Supriya. Ravi glares at them from far. Supriya raises her eyes and catches his gaze and, Ravi with a firm face , shifts his eyes the other way. Kala watches.. Naku comes into the gathering carrying the puja tray..she weaves her way around and suddenly confronts the couple on the stage. She quickly lowers her eyes. Aye tells Kala to start, Kala begins the ceremony by presenting a sari to Supriya which she lays on her lap. Naku looks and swallows her feelings. Supriya looks at the sari and puts it aside, and Naku wants to cry, but forces a smile, as everyone around her, Kala , Leela smile too.

Kala comes off the stage and takes the puja thalli from Naku. She returns to the stage and performs arti of the couple. Ravi looks from far with a frown, Babi looks Naku 's way..and they smile. Kala swirls the puja thali around the couple and puts the tilak on them, as all onlookers smile. Once she finishes she turns and passes the thali back to Naku. Two women bearing rings on separate decorated plates, come forward to the stage and hand the rings to the mothers.. both Dutta and Supriya stand..Naku holds the puja thalli looks like she is going to throw up. Supriya stands like a statue. Her mother from the side, opens the ring box exhibiting Dutta 's ring before her daughter... Supriya! she calls and Supriya turns to look down at the ring her mother holds... and she stands looking worried..

Dutta waits like every one else.. he gives her a sided glance.. Ravi from far glares at her. Supriya stands stills about to cry.. all including Naku wonder ,and wait. Episode ends.

Precap: Supriya feels the side of her head, and falls backwards. Ravi runs and catches her in his arms before she hits the floor... Dutta with narrowed eyes looks on..

The episode brings home to me something most humans do as and when needed. To put it mildly keep up appearances..on the outside. For Naku it is all the more applicable which makes her plight rather tragic. In the words of Hamlet, "God gave you one face and you put on another".. but for the likes of the majority of Dutta's family, most people have their real persona obscured by masks.. but because their masks are so attractive, they easily slip through the net. It's Naku who blatantly seems to be at fault of committing the offense of falsifying her true identity. Babi and Dutta seems to be strong transparent characters .. they are what they are.. you get what you see with both of them.

The engagement ceremony, along with the new boy in town is again all about keeping up appearances..

Alex, thanks for your very encouraging and kind feedback. It is of course my privilege entirely that people read and graciously like or comment on the WU's.. with regards to making this thread a sticky.. GK_09 did make it one, but.. since I change the subject of the post with each written update.. the sticky becomes unstuck..that is how a sticky post works on the forum. GK explained that too me..but thanks for the suggestion..
