part ~ 6

Ganapat sat at the local bar darru ka adaa, he was the only one there.His fingers felt the empty bottle of cheap booze, the kind that hits one, and dulls the brain into senseless lethargy. Morning had broken, the few hazy bluish grey tunnels of light pushed through the vents of the small booze shack. The bar tender, curbed a yawn, bent over Ganpat and tapped him over the shoulder, "kaka abhi tum ghar chalo, subah hone ko hai", Ganpat looked up nearly inebriated, twisted his mouth and revealed a set of betel ridden yellowing tartar caked teeth,"Shumbo, thujhe pata hai beti ghar ke Lakhsmi hoti hai! saach hai ye! he proclaimed as he raised an unsteady finger towards the supporting bartender,"haan, Kaka pun abhi tum uthu, bar bhi band kerne hai, mera ko neend aye hai", and he wound up Ganpat's limp arm around his shoulder.Ganapat got up,"aree haat Shumbo, main thek hai, yeh dekh!"and he proved it by staggering out,and one could make out he was reasonably steady.. he toddled home, but en route he paused at a public tap, bent his old flabby body, crouched his knees and splashed his face with water, to omit traces of his activities.. and finally he sluiced his mouth.

Babi was up, after ablution she offered prayers before Bappa, begging for grace and blessings for her children. The strong aromatic essence of the incense sticks wafted in the small dwelling and Naku, smelt it and felt her spirits lift, as she stretched her half asleep body in bed and gradually opened her hazel green eyes.. and smiled, as she realized she was in her own home.But still her arm stretched to feel the empty space on the side of her bed, the fingertips of her tiny hand gripped the bed sheet,"Saabb", invariably escaped from her rose bud mouth. Even his name sent a sense of vigor in her whole being and curling and yawning she sat up in bed and stretched her arms over her head, wishing he was there to gather her in his strong arms.The notion made a hot flush progress from her cleavage all the way to her face, and with a wee smile she shifted her bottom off the bed, better go and help Aye in the kitchen, no point in dwelling on what cannot happen..

Babi's face lit up as soon as she saw her daughter,"tu kyon uthe gaye meri baachi sote rehte, apne ghar mein hai tu apna susral nehi", Babi stirred.Naku put her arms round her mother's shoulders,"Aye udhar bhi main uthe hai jab jag ati hai, aur edhur bhi, chal bata ab kya kam kerna hai? she asked supportively, and Babi turned her head and her arm sideways, and instructed" woh chai ke peeyalian hai unhe zara dobarre se dho de," Naku acted upon what she was asked to carry out. There was a noisy call from the front room,"aree chai le ke ah Naku!".With her head buried in the sink, she smiled at her father's request and mumbled,"lagta hai babba uthe gien hain. Babi, turned over the last chappati on the griddle," uthe ga tu tab! jab raat ko ghar pe soya ho! koi nehi tha tera babaa ghar pe raat ko, pee ke para ho ga ghai rasste pe! grumbled Babi as she wiped her brow with her folded arm. Naku's eyes welled up and a sniff escaped her nostrils.Babi reeled around moving the tava to one side and turned to her daughter crudely yet affectionately pulling her shoulder,"aeee? kyon rooti hai meri baachi? koi fayeda nehi ye admi nehi badaal sakta , bewada tha aur rehe ga!" she hissed with her eyes flashing she turned to move back to the stove when suddenly she stopped and spotted her daughters hands full of suds scrubbing the inside of a cup,"areee tere lal nagina wali anghooti kadher hai re?"she interrogated as she took the cup from Naku's hands and held both her soapy hands in hers glaring at them, "bol lardki kahan kiye anghooti?"Naku pulled her hands back and pushed them back around the cup,"chorru Aye, edhur udher ho ge hoge kahien".. she said vaguely. Naku knew if she told the truth all hell would break loose, but Babi already smelt a rat and pulled her daughter roughly by the shoulder again, and peered sharply into her daughter's eyes questioningly.As her mother, she so preferred not to be hard with her daughter, after all she was only a visitor here, but she needed to know ,"areee meri baachi apne Aye ko to tu bata sakti hai.."she coaxed.Naku turned around and wiped her hands dry with a towel, desperately trying to distract her mother's attention.But Babi waited for an explanation, and seeing that Naku was still mum, she got hold of her shoulders yet again and this time shook her shouting at the top of her voice,"bata Naku woh ring kahan hai?,"aree use kiya phoochte hai re main bata hai! hum ne de the! tu maine wapis le le zaroorat the "Ganpat yelled.Astounded but not entirely unsuspecting, Babi dragged Naku by the arm and came into the front room to confront her husband Ganapat...

With eyes that shot fire and a mouth that spewed a volley of abuse, "bawada ho tum, apne bete ko bhi nehi chorha tum ne! us se bhi diya hoi ashirwad chein liya tum ne, ye hum nein uske lagaan pe de the Naku ko" she accused. An irate Babi arched herself forward, pointed a forbidding finger at him an aggrieved mother. Aggressively he pushed her hand away and jerked his chest and stood upfront opposing her,"aree chal haat! koi ashirwqad nehi liya maine sirf us se ring le.. paisa ke zarorrat the mujhe! he yelled and then turned to hold Naku's folded arms,"bol na Naku bata is aurat ko ke tune khud he mujhe de the maine nehi mange thujhe se!" he pleaded with tainted saliva dripping out of the sides of his mouth,!. Babi, pushed Naku out of the way,"haat tu aage se Naku! ise tu main dekhte hai!" and she ran to the corner of the room and brandished an wooden stick used to open the vents above the old windows and came back charging at him.Flabbergasted he lunged forward defensively and thrust her out of the way ready to strike her with the old cane chair which he held up over his head ready to propel at her. Babi ducked and caught hold of the stick firmly again ready to strike his head again, and he clapped like a manic,"dekho re sab log! kaise ye chudial apne pati ko dande se mar rehe hai! areee haat main beta hai thujhe marna kiya hota hai!.His head pushed forward he trudged towards the kitchen and reappeared with a large butcher's knife and started wielding it before a screaming Babi, and hysterical Sethji who bare foot made a bee line towards the front door and crying ran and bumped into this tall man dressed in a pathiani..He put his arms around Dutta's waist and looked up sobbing and crying his eyes out,"Bhao jaldi chalo babaa pagal ho gaya hai!".Dutta looked down at the boy's head and instructed,"Baji you stay in the jeep.."

Dutta stood in the door way silent and daunting,Sethji stood behind him clutching the side of this pathiani.Unaware of Dutta's lone figure, Ganapat, lunged forward towards a shouting Babi, "bawada! maar! main darte nehi tera se"!she provoked, her arms ushering him towards her and he took a few steps towards Babi, his knife held up high up, and Naku ran and blocked her mother by her frame crying and begging,"meri Aye ko chor do babaa!she screamed and he lunged forward and yanked her away cruelly by her arm yelling "tu hai sab lardiye ke wajha, Naku!" and he spun her with intense force that Naku went spinning towards the door, rudely blocked by Dutta's hard firm chest!. Babi screamed! Bhao! and the knife from Ganpat's palm fell on the floor with a clang!. Dutta's narrow lion like eyes stared at Ganpat, completing ignoring his trembling, sobbing wife's warm top of the head positioned under his stubble chin, "kiya ho raha hai yahan par? he thundered as his stone cold eyes were transfixed on his wife's parents. He took a deep breath, pulled his mouth to one side ,sniffed as his arms folded and gripped his wife's shoulders to move her aside, and dangerously without blinking he moved slowly towards Ganpat and pushed his face right into Ganpat's, smiting him with his deathly darting looks,"bas! bawada bun ke tu, aurat pe kiya haat utha raha hai salla! mard se baat kar! hoarsed Dutta as his jaw twitched and his palms moved dangerously towards Ganpat's collar.. Naku ran and held Dutta's folded muscular arms, weeping she pleaded, "Saab mere babaa ko chor do! baap hai woh mera!"frantically.Dutta heard and noted her obvious reaction, but pulled his mouth cruelly right down to his chin, turned his face from her, but not his determined wide hand at Ganpat's throat.Contrary to her daughter, Babi filled with ensuing rage chivvied Dutta, to continue,"Bhao ap Naku ke parwa maat karo! tum mera pati ke aache se khabir lo!" she screamed defiantly and Dutta looked sideways at Naku across his arms and palms rearing to go! and he raised his fist up ready to dis feature his father in laws's face.Naku in time, pressed her palm across his large menacing clenched fist and cried out, "Saab ye lo ap mujhe mar lo!" she proposed, as she stood protectively before her father like a human shield.Dutta with his fist frozen in mid air sided his head with tears in his eyes, trying to catch Ganapat's face not hers, defended,"ise maat bacha Naku! tum par haat uthya is na mausi pe churri se hamla kerna ke khoish ke! dariya dhamkiya thumhe! mujhe tu ye karna chaiya ke ise police ke hawala kar doon, pun mare hoote hoi, main police ko ye haq kaise de doon is ke dhuliye kerna ka! and he yanked his arm back to land a punch but Naku, clasped his bicep,"Saab! maat karo aise! dekho !ek beti nehi dekh sakte apne baap ko mar khate hoi, aur woh bhi apne pati ke hatoon! she wept.Dissuaded by his wife's pleas, Dutta gradually lowered his stiffened fist, and Naku seeing it was safe, and her Saab had withdrawn his attack, moved herself away from her father.Ganapat got his act together, his Lakshmi saved him from the wrath of the lion! and he argued,"woh kiya haina Bhao, bura maat mano, ye baap beti ka mamala hai, tu.."before he could finish Dutta gripped Naku's just above the wrist and literally dragged her out of the house... "nehin, ye meri patni aur mera mamla hai.. ab to yahan ek pal bhi meri patni nehin rehe ge! he bellowed and stormed out of his in law's house dragging Naku behind him.Once outside he shouted at Baji "you drive"!.Both Babi and Ganpat stood with folded hands, mumbling some apologies which flew past Dutta's whole persona. He was not prepared to consider anything, for he was beyond deliberation.. yet one look at his wife's tear stained red eyed ,puffy face, softened him, and he stood before Babi,"dekho mausi main milne to ap ko aye tha, pun yahan ye dekha ke Naku ke saath aisa bartao ho raha hai ,uske apne ghar mein tu main use edher ab kaise chor ke ja sakta hai..mujhe se ye nehi hoga, meri patni hai Naku, use ke saath koi aise kare tu main kaise ye bardasht kar sakta hoon, phir chahe woh us ke maa baap he hoon,!"he reasoned with finality, raised his palms above his head and sat opposite Baji in the jeep. Babi, Sethji, looked on tearfully as they watched their Naku being driven away from her parental home by her husband..

Naku sat at the back, eyes lowered but streaming with tears, burdened down with the fact, that this was her husband's manner of dealing with most issues, short, sharp decisive. However deep down too she knew, as she twisted her hands in her lap ,that he was no inhuman monster, for he too usually comes around, but on his own terms, in his own time.She felt the jeep judder, as Dutta rammed his foot against the foot gap,"pata hai mujhe Baji! tu bhi mujhe he doshi mana ga! bole ga Bhao unka family ka affair hai! he reflected aloud for both to hear, attempting to justify his act.Both wife and friend opted to stay silent. But Dutta flared his nostrils and looked at her through the rear mirror,"tera babba ne pee hoi the Naku, ready to attack you, and you too expected me to be civil to him and happily leave you there with that drunkard man! I don't think so!" he yelled from the passenger seat. Naku was sweating and hot with anger, yet she bit her lip, and mumbled,"mujhe kuch nehi kehna hai Saab", he heard and punched the dashed board,"haan tuna kyun kuch bolna! tu to apna baap ke he side lage ge! main tera pati he bura hoon!"he growled unreasonably.Naku met Baji's eyes in the rear mirror and he blinked his eyes as he lowered his head ,with a let it go Naku, stay silent message.The deathly silence ate him and miserably he ,he punched the inside of his wide palm,"ab tum dono kuch bako ge bhi? ye tum ne Maun Vart dhar liya hai? he yelled, and after a pause he continued "some bloody support you two are?!. Baji gave his Bhao a sided gaze,"Bhao, chal it's over now,just relax, Naku was meant to return, sooner or later, it so happens it's happnened sooner!, main tu kush hoon ke ghar wapis ah rehe hai Naku! meri duty khatam" he sniggered, diffusing the situation accompanied by a comforting smile for Naku. Dutta ,still troubled by his beloved's silence pulled his lips downwards and furrowed his brows despondently, yes he felt guilty, he needed to keep the image of Naku manhandled and being flung upon his chest with brutal force by none other than her own father,to re kindle his rage.. and his chest heaved and he closed his fingers slowly into a pair of ready to strike fists...

With a slight judder, Baji stopped the jeep before the front door of PN..With a menacing scowl ,Dutta got out of the jeep and held his hand out for Naku to hold on to, which to his annoyance she dared to refused. Within seconds he pulled her arm a little above her wrist in a steel grip and tugged her into the house for all present to see! the body guards, his mother, his sisters, his brother in laws ! stunned all were! as he took long scouring steps and she lugged behind him trying to twist his steel grip. But Dutta neither looked at, or spoke to any of the dumbfounded family, he just towed his wife up the stairs straight to their room and once there with a loud bang he shut the door.. and confronted her before the edge of there huge double bed.. She looked up boldly straight into his hooded narrow eyes.Her rebellious expression infuriated him and he lowered his face and grated,"ab bol mera mau pe ke main kitna bura aadmi hoon"!without blinking she responded,"mujhe kuch bolne ke zarorrat nehi Saab, ap ne ju kya hai aacha ya bura? ap ko sab pata hai!" she said calmly,"ayee lardki mera saath zayeeda hoshyaari karne ke koshish maat kar" Naku, shook her head, and he pushed her chin up with his fingers and glared down into her eyes,"tell me now I am a beast and tuhje, mujhe se dar lagta hai!"Naku who was already deeply distressed the way he treated her father burst out finally,"no you are not a beast Saab! but baroon ka adab , unke respect ap ko nehi ati! ap kush hain mera baap ke beezati kar ke! she cried, and took a step back and raised her finger at him,"ek bar bhi kya ap ne soocha ke jis ka gala ap paker rehe the woh mera babba tha? uska gala pakerna was like strangling me Saab! it hurt me! haan mujhe pata hai ke main patni hai ap ke! but yaad rehe ke koi bhi patni kabhi bhi! apne maa aur baap ke disrespect apne pati ke mau se tolerate nehin kar sakte, just like you can't even tolerate a single, word or even insinuation against your mother or sisters !she cried.. and finally sat down on the edge of the bed holding her crying face in her palms.Tenderly he walked towards her and held her by the shoulders and inclined to press his lips on the top of her warm head.."dekh Naku I lost it.. when I saw you being ill treated by your family.. she sniffed and raised her red eyes up to him,"Saab you said it! the word family..bas this word, this feeling this blood bond makes it all right and we soon forget our grievances because we are family."..she said with a certain ring of uncertainty..Dutta raised her up and tipped her chin up,"next time your father lays a finger on you Naku I swear I'll rip him apart!" he warned and turned and walked away from his room down to his family.

AS, and Kala tried their level best to quiz Baji about Dutta and Naku's sudden un called for entry.. Kala ,looked at Baji probingly,"Baji ye kya ? how come Naku itne jaldi ghar wapis ah gaye? aur woh Bhao bhi bahut gussa mein tha?",Baji, smiled nervously, "nothing Tai, we were in that area so Bhao thought he would drop by to ask how Babi mausi was, ummh, she said thanks for the gifts, bole was very useful" he looked around to see if Dutta would retrieve him. Kala pressed on, "but why was Bhao in a temper? koi problem hai between him and Naku?, Baji scratched the side of his head and replied furtively,"kuch nehi Tai, there was a lot of traffic on the way back, and you know how Bhao wants a straight fast drive..". Eventually, Dutta turned up, and his mother and daughter exchanged glances. Dutta sensed the curiosity that his mother and sister felt and announced,"haan sab thek tha, bas Naku ke Aye ,babaa wanted to keep her longer, tu I put my foot down that I am in the area, and it's difficult for me to take time out and collect her another day, they were not happy , but ap ko tu pata hai main kerta hai woh ju mujhe sehi lage"! he announced to all as he folded his arms across his chest and give Naku who came down to greet her mother in law, a sly wink. She blushed, yes he was her husband and knew how much, and what content to reveal before others.. Saab ap dil ke bahut aache ho..she thought..but she heard his mother say loudly,"dekho! Naku ke maa baap ko thujhe rokna nehi chaiya tha Dutta, Naku teri patni hai,"and Kala added ,"ab humien dekh Bhao hum khabhi tere aur Naku ke affairs mein nehin parta" and AS added,"haan Dutta jaise hum ne bole hai, Naku teri patni hai , tu jab chahe use mayake se le ah sakta hai" fed by now! Dutta retorted short of patience,"haan maagar Naku un ke beti hai".. to be continued Hamlet53~ 13.6.13

Wow...Really awesome update dear...It's a total package dear...Loved it a lot❤️...I hate this Ganpat😡😡...He sold Naku's ring for his darru😡😡...He & His stupid talks😡😡...HATE him😡😡...Babi😳!! Please don't torture Bappa😳...Oh😳!! Naku missed Dutta soo much😉...I loved this Lovely bond between Babi & Naku...This Babi is a good mother👏👏...She worried about Naku's ring❤️...Wow what a cat fight between Ganpat & Babi😆...Ganpat pushed Naku hardly & She fell into Dutta's chest...I loved Dutta's angry...This whole part reminded me LTL ki Awesome scenes dear...Totally wonderful..finally Dutta dragged her from the house😳... Loved Dutta ki guilty❤️..Naku was in a sad & angry mood😳😳..Loved Baji-naku ki silent communication😃..Loved Tasha ki talk at their room...Finally Dutta kiss Naku..Wow...Sooo sweet of him..I loved his care & concern dear..Awe.. I loved this Baaji yaar ...Awe This Dutta is sooo sweet ❤️.He hid the incidents from his nautanki family⭐️...He Knew everything very well❤️..
