Character sketch of Ganpat

Ganpat was babi's second husband and nakku's step father who was nothing but a useless alcoholic who didn't support his family in any way, in fact both his wife and daughter worked so that he could get his daily quota of alcohol. A selfish man who thought only about himself and nobody else, he wished to have loads of money without working for it and didn't mind getting his daughter married to a corrupt policeman. Even when she was being molested by that cop he got angry but did nothing to save her, unbelievable isn't it? Not only that when dutta rescued his family from the clutches of morey and got injured later on he was not at all bothered to take dutta to the hospital ,all he wanted was to run away with his money.

An ungrateful person who could cheat anybody, although dutta knew that he was a greedy man still he gave him work but ganpat preferred to make quick bucks by committing fraud. He was never guilty of cheating his own son in law in fact coaxed his son sethji to give up studies and enjoy the gifts that he bought by adopting wrongful means.

Babi tried to stop him several times but he wouldn't listen to her on the contrary would beat her up, he desired to live a luxurious life by using dutta's name and power without caring how nakku was treated by dutta after they got married. I wonder did he ever consider nakku as his daughter? When everybody was planning to delay nakku's face revelation he was the only when who attempted to foil their plans by telling the truth to dutta forgetting that the same nakku saved him from getting beaten up by dutta, she always gave him that respect and love which a father deserves but he didn't value them.

Although for the first time I am trying to write something positive or thinking of defending the character in some way but nothing is coming to my mind except that once he did something good for dutta, remember that temple scene where Anna's men tried to poison him and his family that time ganpat accompanied nakku with a knife to save dutta, in fact that small knife ended up rescuing the entire patil family, hard to believe but its true also one more scene I cant forget is when he was doing that snake dance along with Baaji during dutta's first wedding.

A funny and good for nothing character but still at the end of the day you don't end up hating him instead feel like singing

Ganpat was babi's second husband and nakku's step father you are too good at flaunting your new discovery😆 who was nothing but a useless alcoholic who didn't support his family in any way, in fact both his wife and daughter worked so that he could get his daily quota of alcohol. yeah! very true but the cvs used this aspect brilliantly in the initial parts of the story i'.e. pre dutta's exit, in order to show the plight of many women living in slums. A selfish man who thought only about himself and nobody else, he wished to have loads of money without working for it and didn't mind getting his daughter married to a corrupt policeman. Even when she was being molested by that cop he got angry but did nothing to save her, unbelievable isn't it? yes that was unbelievable, when she was getting molested, he was crying his heart aloud, cursing his fate but did't dare to do that what babi did, as a man of the house it was his responsibility but ganpat was among those who are always interested in their rights over looking the duties Not only that when dutta rescued his family from the clutches of morey and got injured later on he was not at all bothered to take dutta to the hospital ,all he wanted was to run away with his money. that's so ganpat..lol

A funny you know I could never find him funny, no matter how much i tried and good for nothing character but still at the end of the day you don't end up hating totally agree he annoyes you but still hate seems a big word to be used for him him instead feel like singing

Wow! rose take a bow, to write about ganpat is not at all easy esp. when you re not well acquainted about the happenings of initial parts of the story! great job! My comments in maroon

gr8 analysis...indeed a hard character 2 justify becos there was not much u could praise abt him... he was a useless character tht remained useless til the end...i agree tht was 1 place wer he did a gd job... bt i guess tht was his nature...he was manipulative etc bt he was wt he was infront of his family... he neva hid his truth intentions 4rm his family... the 1 time i felt bad 4 him was wen he was accused of robbing naku's jewels n no1 and i mean no1 believed him not evn naku...
