Dear Friends,
Yesterday my mil was very sad, her favourite bengali serial was going off the air, whole day how many times she cribbed they are finishing it off but before the final episode started she told me thank god they are finishing it off today at this juncture, I will have good memories of it, a story told beautifully, maybe it was not the most popular serial but it was indeed a well made one!
It is said it is best to stop before people ask 'Why' and when is the ultimate downfall!
Friends, in last two days I am seeing various shows of Colors making news and for all wrong reasons. 'They have stopped shooting for their 'Wanted', because of poor TRPs Guinnness World records too will go off and last but not the least two articles on LTL within two days! Wah Wah kya baath hai! Is Colors seeing stars already during day time?
As many times in the past I said very clearly I support Mishal's decision to leave. For an actor like him it is very difficult to stick around a mediocre script. The story about him throwing tantrums I don't believe because nowadays every actor knows how stiff is the competition and if asking for better script is throwing tantrum I will support the actor. Since the Damodar track 5 months ago the show started sliding down....many a times we have bashed the channel for episodes full of bloopers, zero creativity, according to me the perfect ending would have been with the SR track with revelation of Kala's misdeeds but then the channel chose to stretch it....I would have stood by them if they could show something interesting.. But sadly no....as it is with the new twist they have made us hate the show so with folded hands let me ask Colors not to bring a new face as Dutta and make us hate our most loved character..... NOW I WILL NOT ASK WHY AND WHEN EVEN AS I DON'T GIVE A DAMN EXCEPT NO MISHAL NO DUTTA!! Your thoughts friends, love Tin

Channel ppl don't know when to end their serial. When a serial does well, they want to prolong it to as long as possible and that's the biggest mistake. They make a good serial into a unbearable dragfest. Later even the loyal viewers start cursing it and want it to end. Eg. Uttran and now LTL.

LTL should have ended with Tasha union (March 28th 2011), which they could have shown in a better manner, not the hurried end. I don't understand why they want to drag it further. According to me they need not drag LTL further even if MR was available(only they could have showed kala-dutta confrontation and happy Tasha in a relaxed manner). But these ppl are dragging it even without him.
Uttran - If you visit Uttran forum, you can read posts, comments which criticise the plot, all the actors/characters, and the nonsensical twists in it. Nobody seems to like it. but still that serial is at No. 1 serial in Trps. I can't believe how is it even possible. Since it's no.1 they will not end it, even now when there is no more sin in this world for Tapasya-the antagonist to commit.

@LTLFan, After March 28, I did not watch a single LTL episode, instead went to Youtube to catch up with Love Story....what surprised me the viewing in YT is so high per episode, infact I doubt if there is any episode of LTL have been watched that many times as Love Story in YT....I never knew it was such a popular serial...infact in many comments in YT the fans want it to come back once again...yes this is what a serial be like, once it is off the fans wanting to see it once again....encore as they call it....it means your job is well done and well appreciated and not thank god at last it is over!

Even i want to watch Love stroy, but i'm not comfortable watching serials in YT, as my net is quite slow. Though i watched one episode, which was very good. I would be very happy if they could re-telecast it on Sab-TV.

Wish the serials had a fixed time period..this way both the production houses the channels and would have tried to give their best. shot. If the serial was really appreciated by the viewers then the next season could have been brought.

I doubt if the creatives have any clear cut story line with a climax in mind. looks like they just keep on stretching it according to their whims and fancy😡

Many a times I had tried to watch a few episodes of BUN....but couldn't take the torture for more than 5-7 minutes. And it is not only with colors but many of the other channels. .. The various twists and turns are like beating a dead horse.

The depths to which LTL-2 has fallen makes me think that perhaps is is better that an actor like Mishal is not associated with it...... But I guess at times my selfish desire to see Dutta = Mishal back surfaces😍 "The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing."

I agree with your MIL out here.I don't know if it Ganer Oparey she was talking about. I have watched a few episodes serial ..really different from the rest with great songs. Luckily caught the one hour special episode last night and my thoughts were exactly the same "Why LTL could not have been given a better and Happy Fairy Tale ending with Tasha reunion ??"

Click on the play button, mute the sound and run it once while you do yr other work, once it runs, play it once again with full screen, I do it that way, I hate when it stops in between uploading!

I also feel time has come for the channels to do mini-series and seasonal shows like in the west...how long can this crap be taken and truthfully in a such a huge country like India, we have shortage of ideas? no new story to tell? I am now watching Chandragupta Maurya in NDTV Imagine, bi-weekly show and the story is moving fast, I just hope they can keep the tempo and finish it before making it a dragfeast...
Hai ota Ganer Oparey😛 I am glad someone took the guts to finish the show still when it was liked by all!

Jayati,
Yet again an interesting post.
If only it was so simple to make this thick headed people to understand.
In last 10 yrs. indian telly industry has forgotten the concept of short stories which has certain amount of epis.
They feel that track after track, twist after twist, the show should atleast run for 2-3yrs. minimum.
The original story is long forgotten.
U know when i shifted to UK,i started watching CSI,Law & Order,Mentalist ,etc.
I remember during 1st season of Mentalist, the director said,it took them more than 6 months to shoot for just 22 episodes. But,it was worth.
Those people believe in quality,so within 22 episodes they created such an impact, that after the show got over,i was like ab next season ke liye 6 months wait karna padega
People ends up buying their fav. shows DVDs & that to of all seasons, such is the quality.
But, in india, people want quantity. They celebrate when certain show completes 50,100 ,200,300 epis. as if these nos. are sort of bench mark they achieved, who cares what story was told in those episodes.
Reading the title of ur post,i tried so hard to jog my memory, but could n't recollect even a single show in past 10 yrs. which ended on high note.

I agree with you Pooja, not one show is worth the mention except for first three months, four months and that is it...over and done with and then the stretching game starts...episodes full of bloopers, no quality...as you said they took 6 months to shoot 22 episodes of Mentalist....our Indian Channels and PHs never heard anything like that grrrrrrr. I watched 'The Tudor' ddl and stored it in my transcend external HD....the acting, sets and not to say about the quality of producton...top class, no wonder in the west there is no dimarcation between the TV and Film actors...they are judged by their work and not medium.....kab ayega woh din idhar?
