LTLthe show that scaled dizzy heights with Dutta aka Mishal is now in Macbeth's words " a tale told by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing"!
To me when I think of that show, it seems like a game of word association; Godfather,Al pacino; Devdas,Dilip,SRK; Don,AB,SRK;Titanic;Lde cap; Edward s.Hand,J.Depp; LTL,Mishal R... I have only gone by what was the first thing that comes to my mind!
Ltl to me first and first most was Dutta aka Mishal with all his bagged complexities, his trips from start to end.It was his character that motivated me to read the posts in this forum,it was Dutta who stimulated to write and share thoughts with strangers. It was Dutta portrayed by Mishal that made me take trips into the workings of the heart and mind ,and observe pinstakingly at the effects that occured in human behaviour. It was Dutta that pushed me to delve into the areas of literature, art, philosophy, history, myths, legends, religion and moral ethics,so I could draw connections with this character played by Mishal.
It was through Dutta/Mishal,the direction, dialouges, music, songs, story spoke meaning to me.It was Dutta/Mishal's reaction and interactions that rendered celluloid as the real thing! making me go through moments of willing suspension of disbelief...
It is Dutta I recall in paired situations with.................. Nakku,Kala,Baji,Aye,Suds,Mahadavan,Bhola,Ranga,Damodar,Chaskar,Deepak...
Here,it would not be amiss to state that although, AG,VR,MV,VT,TA are known for marked performances, yet it was Dutta's connection/element that gave the footage to the rest of the cast.
Now that the character and the actor are missing from the show, without wishing to be offensive to my forum members, I can vouch for the fact that none of the existing cast can sway me to watch this LAME TWISTED LOOP! aka LTL
If the character and the actor makes a come back, I will resume watching the show once again with the same gusto, fervour and passion as I used to till the 28th March 2011. .until then this show which once was mine, is one for the archives!
Lame Twisted Loop now: the story continues about a basti girl, who previously hid behind a lie for self preservation, as fate was to have it the girls surrounding were going to change from rural humble surroundings to urban affluence in the role of a house maid. She met a rich don, love happened and culminated in marriage, but not before her having to fight many battles. The story ended strangely with her husband disappearing! But before I go any further it is vital to mention that as the girl's story progressed in her new urban surroundings,
the onus started to gradually shift from this young girl towards the male protagonist ie the Don, and remained so, till the last day of his strange disappearance !
So the LTL team received a slap wrist from the channel colors and were ordered to shift the onus back to the girl from the basti. Hence now, Lame Twisted Loop i.e LTL has put the young girl in a strong position whereby she can regain her befitting place in the show. She will like before be hiding her true identity, only this time by madness, and FB's of her husband. The young girl will again like before ,be protected by a man who may in future marry her to save her virtue and reputation in the eyes of the world. As her life continues in the basti, the veiwers will receive the opportunity to sample life in a fishing village as opposed to the grandeur of PN....Perhaps this shift from the urban to the rural was what colors wanted!
But what upsets me most is the strange use of children in the show. The new track shows 3 under ten street wise lads, having a whale of a time against the lulled buzz of the fishing village, breathing fresh air as opposed to smog and inner city pollution. The word schooling came to my mind, but I dismissed it to lack of opportunity, Fine, but surely they can be involved in catching ,cleaning or packing fish... nooooo instead they are shown handling alcohol and enjoying its effects on a laid off thug ,who the lads seem to look up to.....what is this?
Next, what appalls me even more is the language these churls use, calling a young woman an ITEM, and then laughing ,is very distasteful indeed. Ok you all may say that calling a young woman item in those parts is quite common,I accept ,but to me to say the word and react to it in a particular manner that is not age appropiate, still remains an issue, and not a have a light hearted jest matter! Friends you also might say that growing boys often regurgitate the language they hear around, sure, I have read the Diary of Adrian Mole but may I remind friends, that Adrian M was 13 and three quarters to be precise and not under 10 of age like these chappies saying item to a pretty young woman! šŸ‘ŽšŸ¼
I object to children being projected in this manner both nationally and internationally. Ok there were classics like Oliver Twist,Les Miserables which dealt with the children's quality of life, inapproiate age related behaviour, but the back drop was revolution, change, protest against child labour! What is colors trying to show in this current track via the children?
Finally, Iam fondly reminded of the scene where Sethji in awe of Dutta's BG'S wants to be one ! and Dutta firmly say's to Sethji " Baachay school jatey hain aur tum bhi school jaoegay! awwwh.😭
All routes and discussions end at Dutta/Mishal!
Lame Twisted Loop aka LTL not the show for meee.[ sorry about the long post mates]

There is hardly any value addition that I can do in this post, you have covered things so nicely. LTL was a great show that has now been clobbered in to a ME-TOO category and how!!! We all have shared the joys of being part of LTL's journey and now we are sharing the sorrow of its loss too.šŸ˜•

But I HAD to and I felt compelled to write back as I share the same feeling about the kids on Color's shows. I did not even try to watch Balika Vadhu and Phulwa ever as I though that these kids should be at a regular school and not shooting for a daily show.Childhood never comes back. No matter what you do, there is no substitute of a school. I had the same feeling when I watched the Phulwa girl and kids crew pitching in the Holi programme and turned my idiot box off (from what I understood and saw for a little while of that programme, people had started to get drunk and kids were there ....excellent!!!!, I don't know if they combined the shots and the drinking sessions started later..whatever, it was annoying and bothersome). Ditto about LTL when I peeked in to catch a glimpse of it for 4 minutes one of the days this week.

That was beautifully written Hamlet. I haven't watched the show since 25th march and I'm scared to even take a glimpse of few seconds of the show NOW. I do object to the kids shown on TV but I will not say that I haven't watched shows with kids. I use to watch Aap ki antara and currently I'm watching Chhoti si zindagi but Aap ki antara was absolutely the most amazing show I've seen on indian television. It focused on an autistic child and how the parents deal with this situation. Chhoti si zindagi is about orphaned kids. Yes I would prefer to see these children in school but I can't deny the impact Aap Ki Antara had as it did create awareness about autism.

But Colors portrayal of children in their shows is really pathetic. I have never watched Balika Vadhu. The name of the show made me run away from it as far as possible. but I have watched Phulwa but only 2-3 episodes but I was pretty disappointed with the lead being a kid. I use to watch Lado on Colors and the show's motto is Evilness rules. Everytime the bad people win and the good people are killed off. 🤬 and now to attract younger audience, they decided to bring in young actors but the content of the show remains the same. šŸ˜” but there's no problem of child actors in Lado coz freaking hell they were killed off at/before birth if it's a girl. 🤬 and young boys were not the focus and so weren't really shown.
Kids in the new LTL called Naku an item. šŸ˜’ The channel has totally lost it. I'm so dissapointed and looks like I will never watch LTL. it's been totally murdered by the channel and it really does hurt. šŸ˜’
bye bye Colors.

I finally quit this channel on 25th March. it's the end of Colors for me. The channel has crores of people to watch their shows but I really would prefer shows like Aap Ki Antara any time, any day.

Word.... with everything that you have written on this post, Hamlet.

Like many of us here on the forum, Dutta aka Mishal was the only reason I watched LTL. Thanks for reminding me about this Dutta-Sethji scene, In spite of being a Don, Dutta was upright, had a fine set of values and of course his heart was in the right place......He was worthy of my love and respect.

The current twisted and sick track of LTL is not for me and reading about it in the forum posts is enough to convince me of my wise decision .. ie..to stay way from the show till (a big IF) Mishal returns.

Superb rendition of thoughts nd feelings, well said girl. Oh! u just spoke things which affect us all in general. The way children r being used here without any plot or track backing it in the lame excuse of attracting the targeted audiences of a certain strata of the society is shameless.

Lame Twisted Loop aka LTL

Hi there!
I have always admired the way you writešŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ and you so justify using a Shakespearean character as your ID.........you do full justice to it.šŸ‘šŸ¼
Your analysis is sheer poetry to me and I couln't have agreed more on each and every one of your statements.āļø
It is a pity indeed that this show has been reduced to what it is now - cra🤬. The reasons whatever they maybe, we will never really know!
But we got to hand it to them for having killed and buried their own baby😭, and now going on to show babies in poor light, no pun intended!
Thanks for emoting and putting in such beautiful words the feelings of not only me but a million others who had fallen in love with the genuinity of a character called "Dutta" so well portrayed by an excellent actor - Mishal.
P.S. Please don't feel sorry about the post being long............it still left me wanting more.................thanks.

Hi Hamlet, perfect for the current LTL, they have ruined this show in many ways,I haven't seen this show after 28th March , only reading updates, even that is painful. Misusing original storyline, actors, children....., I too have left it on God to do the justice.

Beautifully written Hamlet and i totally agree about the kids. Now to look at things practically noramally these shows are by ladies of the house with there kids. As 8.30 is a time in India where most little kids are fed dinner by their mothers while watching these shows..i am sure it has impact on their yound minds and the kind of things that are shown is not at all conducive. I once applauded the show when they showed Shethji getting into wrong ways because they showed the consequence that the whole family had to bear for his mistakes. they showed how good influence and a right role model..Baaji and Dutta impressed upon the basti ka thugish baccha who stole car accessories so much so that his parting words to his sisters were heart touching. TAi ab main jaldi bada ho jaunga aur tera aai ka khayal rakhunga...

What kind of role model does these kids have is yet to be seen. You know i blame this forum for my disappointment...all of u guys...if i ahd never come across this forum and interacted with so many of you awesome ppl..this show would have been just a show and MR just any actor...and his staying or going would never have mattered to me at all..it has happened before and probably would keep happening but now i have learned a lesson...not to invest too much in a show..after all its just a fiction..

coming to forum has become a addiction.

Hamlet! My God!! What you have written here is an echo of what I was thinking all along and fumbling with words to put my feelings in writing! You are BANG ON target with this children issue and many other things that you have said here regarding the show. Wish the concerned people read it. But then again it wouldn't make any sense to them as MONEY, TRPs etc. are the ONLY things that MATTER to them. Who cares about social responsibility? Who cares about esthetic values? Who cares about artists or the art they create? Creators in general are supposed to be sensitive people. But here the channel sorely lacks in creativity so all said and done, our feelings or woes fall on deaf ears. It is the most tragic thing that can happen to a show. Being butchered like this and turning it into a lame excuse in the name of entertainment. The real story and beauty of characters are long lost in the process and nobody cares a damn. What could be more sad than this? That the concerned people don't have the required level of intelligence to understand these serious issues. Pathetic is the only word that comes to my mind while describing the state of affairs in this country be it any field or any walk of life.
