The new entry "Mentor" is deifinitely not a lead character. He is supposed to come before dutta's exit. After that he may support the family, I guess they may try a new man for nakku or bring dutta himself (another actor or MR himself hopefully). Otherwise he could also be long forgotten BH. Kala will be left alive. It means that dutta will also be alive otherwise upon who is she going to take her revenge. It doesn't make sense.
