Ditto @ bold: I'm just watching it again and look at how he reacts when the interviewer pretty much says that the character (and show) will have an identity crisis if he leaves..."I'd like not to believe that. I hope it doesn't happen." If THAT doesn't show his well wishing and consideration for the show, what does? There were people saying that he's lost interest in the character of Dutta, in the story, in the show, and so that's why he's decided to up and go, leaving the rest of the people in a fix...but that is not at all the case as is obvious from here...the first thing he says is that this is a team effort, so MR isn't the one posing problems...

All I can deduce from this is that he wants a fixed period of time for the show to be concluded in...he's not 'keen on leaving' and he won't leave them with a 2 weeks notice either...yet he needs to know when the show is going to end for him to actively pursue Bollywood projects without being apprehensive about the notice thing...and I don't see anything wrong in this...they need to work something out here and decide on a set date...Colors needs to realize too that it's better to go out on the top, to be remembered and MISSED by people as something great rather than dragging yet another show to demise and then finally sacking it in a hodge podge. Word.....it is obvious that he doesn't want to leave them in a fix....it is obvious just HOW attached he is to the show, the crew and wishes for the best for everyone......and he is not wrong in asking for a fixed time period for the show or atleast his bit to be concluded in.....in this case, that would be the same thing....the show can't run without him even though he HOPES that's not the case😆.....he basically explained the logic perfectly.....and honestly Mishal Raheja is not your average TV actor who will stick through a show through endless nonsensical cycles of saas-bahu crap and leaps and god knows what.....Dutta the character and Mishal the actor are far above that kind of nonsense.....ergo LTL has to come with a fixed lifespan.....so yes, I too see nothing wrong in what he's asking for.....the onus is now on the channel and PH if they want to give the show a good culmination and let its beauty be preserved that way and not ruined by nonsensical dragging twists.

And like you said, it's damn obvious that he is SO attached to the show...you don't get emotional talking about things you wouldn't give another look...so MR's invested here too and if/when he leaves, it will mean that he has done a lot of thinking before it and I will completely trust and accept that. Exactly....he himself said it....it's not like he's KEEN on leaving either.....all he's asking for is a proper culmination....nothing wrong with that.....this should give a good answer to everyone who was oh so willing to believe that he was dissatisfied with his character/the show or whatever....he has given his 100% in every way......

It's a huge, huge pity though that the PH/Channel let it get to the point that THEIR dirty laundry is being aired in public...all the people who watched this (on TV) were let in on the fact that there is huge politics, ego and fabrications at play within what is supposed to be a TEAM...how does that affect their viewing and image of the show? Agreed....they didn't handle this well and instead so much ugliness was created.....for publicity or not, who knows....but bottom line is that they didn't handle this well......this can't have been good for the mental harmony of the entire team that is working hard on the show otherwise.

For the people who were demanding that MR speaks up about the issue though, they will finally get to hear something...I'm glad we finally got to hear from him directly in some capacity....now let's see what happens in the future.

He sooo knows who it is that is getting annoyed by his wish to pursue his dreams....I don't know, seriously like Fatty said, he did finally speak and I think he pretty much conveyed everything he needed to without getting himself in s***. The fact is, they need to sort it out because it is getting really repetitive. This is one hell of a saga that is never ending. What a mess!
