Chapter 27Later into the night or even a dark morning of the next day Nakusha and Baaji are allowed leave from the hospital walking into Patil Niwas the joy of such good news leaves a smile on both of there expressions yet as Nakusha still a little weak slowly walks alongside Baaji who has his right arm in a sling looking some distance into the house they see Dutta sat in front of the greenery with his back turned towards them. Sitting in silence on the wooden decking dutta seems to be on looking towards the garden in silence. Both Nakusha and baaji look at each other for a second in concern.Approaching very silently, baaji takes a seat down on the wooden surface next to dutta on his left and nakusha sits at dutta's right. dutta sitting inbetween them both carries on looking into ablivion.
Dutta feeling both's presence and knowing full well that both of them were now good and well still silent and looking into ablivoun he remains silenlt.
Baaji taking a glance across to nakusha on the operssite side to him…as dutta sits the middle of them both, nakusha and baaji look at each other worried of duttas silence.
Baaji looking at dutta with a certain ease to his expression buts his hand over Duttas shoulder
."kuch nahin hua naa hame bhau. Dekh bilkul theekh hai mein bas.".as baaji goes on to speak in his usual chirpy way the bullet wound twitching with pain..baaji grabs on to his shoulder with his free hand.. dutta seeing baaji react. From the corner f his eyes and turns to him with instance. His eyes full of concern for his friend dutta grabs on to baajis shoulder..
Baaji smiling at duttas reaction puts his hand over duttas whos palm is rested over baaji injured arm..smiles reassuringly.
"Mein theekh hai..bhau…"dutta sighing in an very distressed manner looks at the way in which baajis arm is hurt and he blames himself for this incident.
More so irritated that he had harmed himself by trying to save him dutta sounds his disapproval.
"Kya sarurat thi tume..goli khane ki.. tuje kuch hojata toe..! "dutta speaking in a very scolder manner his eyes trail from baaji on his left to nakusha who sits on his right with her eyes lowered seeing that dissporval for there action in his eyes. "
Aur tu…tu. toe pehle se zakhmi hai… "as dutta scolds nakush knowing full well that dutta was righ nakusha has no words..simply diverting her sight in silence she listens to what he has to say without a word..dutta turns his expression back away from both of them his faces creases in a distress as he goes on to speak.
"Tum dono ko kuch ho jaata toe!! .." stopping there at the shere thought of was he was about to say ..duttas word silence into an incomplete sentence.
Nakusha and baaji both feeling the pain dutta seemed to be going through..in silence the way they both look at dutta with so much innocence leaves dutta speechless.
Nakusha dropping her expression right shoulder.. baaji too doing the same..rests on duttas left shoulder in silence.
Dutta feeling the weight on both shoulders looks down upon them both and there innocesnce as ever hits a soft spot within dutta. way in both of them rest upon him that that way reminds dutta that he was the older old..the one that was responsible for both of them. His words now at more ease and mood too..dutta puts his hands around each one of them as they rest on his shoulders.. "
Ab ek kaa nahin dono ka khal rakhna padega muje"Baaji and nakusha both comforted by the way dutta had melted..with ease nakusha takes a moment to rethink duttas words..s
"Dono..ka nahin sahab…theeno…ka khyal rakhna hai aapko."Nakusha 's expression creasing in a content smile she thinks of what duttas reaction would be when he is given the news of being a farther.…..
Next morning as Nakusha stands in front of the mirror adding those last touches to her appearance, nakusha just about manages to apply sindhoor to her parting. Madhu having helped her into her attire, dressed in a green and pink saari her hair wet, with a fresh morning appearance Nakusha looks into the mirror at her reflection for a second. The nurses words running through her mind..an un-controllable smile creases on Nakushas lips.
"Aap maa bane wali hai Mrs Patil" her eyes glowing with a sparkle…nakusha embarrassed by her thoughts she begins to go a shade of red. Putting the palm of her hand over her stomach nakusha feels for the very first time the prence of another within her. At some distance behind Nakusha dutta leaving the restroom after a shower, dressed in his white vest..his red towel flung around his neck and hair swept back wet yet in place his eyes fall on nakusha. Looking at the way nakusha seems to be smiling to herself and there seemed to be a shade timidity on her expression dutta pauses in his steps for a second..wondering exactly what I was that was making her react in this way.
Nakusha hearing those certain footsteps that make there way closer she takes a glance up into the mirror and sees dutta watching her with great detail. His eyes lovingly trail her expression, and ever those eyes could make out those feelings of hers. A little startled by his presence Nakusha smiles into the mirror at dutta and then drops her eyes. Dutta walking up behind nakusha slowly..stops close behind her and looking in the mirror he notices the way nakusha diverts her sight. Folding his arms comfortably..across his chest dutta looking at nakusha with the sentiment of affection in his eyes is curious to hear something from her.
"Muje dekh kar hameza..apni nazre kyun jukadeti hein tu naku?" dutta questioned the way nakusha always seem to divert her eyes at the best of times when he was present. Dutta knew somewhere that it was Nakushas respect for him that was the reason still it was something dutta wanted to hear from her.
As nakusha looks into the mirror at duttas refelction behind her her words..her wisdom devotion as a wife all overwhelm Dutta.
"Apne kudha ke saamne nazre uthathyi nahin jaati, jukhayi jaati hai sahab." Dutta taking note of nakushas words, pausing for a second thinking of that love and respect she had for him duttas eyes take a particular glow.
Pacing himself toward nakusha duttas watches nakushas expression in the mirror as he approches..
Magar Is vakt tere saamne tera pati hai nakusha…aur mere kyhal se jab pati woah bhi dutta shri ram patil jaisa itne pyaar se pesh aaraha ho toe moka gavana nahin chahiyey.Dutta looking at nakusha admiring her reflection his eyes carrying an deep affection for her …he takes a step closer..moving away nakusha wet hair over her shoulder he begins to close that distance caressing the skin of her neck with soft kisses. Nakusha feeling duttas touch..a little embarrassed and speechless wonders if this is right time to break the news to him …
Feeling duttas walm touch..before nakusha looses herself to her husbands ways nakusha stops him.
Looking up into the mirror for a second seeing dutta..touching upon her softly..she tries to interrupt. A little unsure she manages it..with some nervousness to her tone…
"Sahab….."Dutta..knowing full well that Nakusha was going to interrupt this moment of romance..he lifts his expression from the crux of her neck. His expression a little irritated he looks into the mirror at nakus reflection. "
Bol!"
"Sahab…"nakusha unable to put her words together…her heart kind of skips a beat as dutta looks down at her..
Turning away from the mirror to face him ..she pauses for a second.
"Sahab…waoh..mein.."Dutta knowing full well that nakusha was looking for a excuse to escape little did he know that she had something to tell him nakusha slumbering on her words and knowing that she wanted escape from the moment dutta lets her get away with it. "
Jaa.."Nakusha takes a glance up at dutta, his eyes warm yet a little annoyed that nakusha seemed to always curve out of there intimate moments..
His eyes..a little blunt tell her that she is free to leave.
Nakusha looking up into those eyes of his again…something inside her gives away and she is unable to tell him what she really wanted to share.
Giving up on the moment out of hesitation nakusha walks out of the room as dutta watches her leave.
Having competed her morning puja as Nakusha walks corridors of Patil Niwas, looking a little uneasy as she approaches the array of rooms on her right. Seeing the door to aayi sahabs room open, the likes of baaji..madhu and aayi sahab…sit around the bed. Whist aayi sahab sits with her payer beads the likes up Madhu and Baaji seemed to be forming a list of some sort aruginig over something or the other as they see nakusha walk past the room madhu is quick to stop her in her steps.. Bhabhi! She calls out from with the room, naku turning back..looking into aayi sahabs room..seeing the faces of aayi sahab..baaji and madhu calling out to her naku..walks into the room.
A little hesitant looking a little confused and lost per nature as nakusha walks into the room she begins to realize that baaji who was slouched on the bed with some ease in his orange kurta..resting his injured arm..on a pillow was making a list of baby names whilst.. madhu seemed to be making suggestions form a small baby name book.. baajis comments as ever humorous…
"Ladka hua naa..toe..naam baaji roa…ladki hui naaa..toe …toe soch ne de!!"Baaji in his usual sense of ease..goes on to make things a little amsusing …where as madu seems to be quite serious about suggesting baby names.
Dressed in her usual western look..black cardigan beneath it a turquoise blue shade of tshirt ..madu recites some names from that little book in her hands..
Suhana, Priya, diya…disha..karuna..all girls names..yet as she asks nakusha what she makes of the names madhu takes a glance up at her bhabhi to see a blank lost expression she was in a world of her own.
"
Kya hua bhabhi…kya soch rahin hai?"Nakusha jolting out of her thoughts.. nods in a way which tells madhu that there was nothing wrong yet all knew that this wasn't at all true..
"Toe bhabhi…aap bhayay ko kab batane vale ho…?" All eyes on nakusha at that very question madhus eyes glowed with a certain joy on thinking how happy her brother would be..
Nakusha looking a little unsure …her expression a little worried ..
"Pata nahin ..madhu bhot ..dar laga raha hai..jab bhi sahab ke saamne aati hoon..bol nahin paati"
"Is mein darne ki kya baat hai bhabhi..jaa ke baata dejyey..bhaiya will be very happy.' Baaji tries to reinforce the idea in his own way..
"Ho naku,..jake bolne ka naa,.. tu …ja varna mein chala jayeyga..ho!"Aayi sahab seeing genuine unease in nakushas eyes shuts up baaji..stops him from being so bold.
Chup kar baaji..! aayi sahabs eyes glancing over nakusha with that warm motherly glow ..she asks nakusha to sit by her side…and nakusha does just that.
As nakusha takes a seat on the bed next to aayi sahab she looks over towards aayi sahab who carries an understanding ease to her expression as she speaks.
Dekh beta..mein samaj sakti hai, jab meine tumare baba ko pehli baar kala ke baare mein baataya tha toe muje bhi aisa hein mehsoos hua beta.
Tu bas itna yaad rakh..ke tu dutta ki zindagi mein kitni kushiya laane wali hai."Nakusha comforted by aayi sahabs words ..nodds with a more relaxed ease now. As baaji and madu listen to aayi sahab with a smiles.. madhu is curious to know something from aayi sahab.. "
Muma..aapne bade dad..ko kaise bataya tha ke aap pregnant ho?"Aayi sahab smiles thinking of her past.."
unone toe kehne ka moka hein nahin diya..meri ankhon mein dekh kar hein samaj gayey the waoh.."Madhu and nakushas expression creasing in smiles at the thought of that..
Baaji passes a comment which adds humor to the moment.
"Bhau itna ..samajdaar nahin..usko toe likh ke dena pardega tuje naku!!!"All laughing at baajis comment..this was the type of joy..Patil Niwas had long awaited.
… As Nakusha walks into the bedroom..seeing dutta looking towards his open wardrobe standing in his black pathani aatire. His back turned to nakusha…as nakusha walks into there room..stepping close to dutta she waits behind him silently dutta closing the wardrobe turns in his steps..suprised to see nakusha..silenlty stood in front of him..looking at the way nakusha seemed be rather silent her eyes searching the floor he ..looks over her with a certain comfort.
As Nakusha lifts her eyes to dutta, dutta was aware that there was something more in those eyes of nakushas that wanted to tell him but he didn't question her for she would feel obliged to share her feelings which was something dutta didn't want.
Nakusha a little unsure…unable to tell dutta what she needed, how was she put it into words? A little scared little unsure of how to go about this conversation in an appropriate manner nakusha gives it a thought for second and then backs out..opening the palm of her right hand in front of dutta.
In her hand..a red dhaga…similar to the one dutta had united from his wrist for nakusha. Nakushsa looked up at dutta her eyes requested his permisson..as she drew the red thread in front of him.
Dutta touched by that gesture..his eyes fill with a certain softness. Drawing his right wrist out for nakusha..dutta watches while naku…ties the dhaga to his wrist. Knotting it..nakusha searches for the right moment maybe she could slip it in now. He was in front of her looking at her with the upmost love and affection yet why was it so hard for her.
Dutta looking down at nakusha.. notices a certain lost expression on her face and questions.
"Kya hua naku..kya soch rahin hai..?"Nakusha nodding negativity as to say there was nothing wrong drops her expression on duttas chest..with a certain happiness that she wanted to share with him but wasn't quite sure how to tell him.
As dutta..puts his arm around her gently careful of her burns he notices..baaji and madhu who seem to hiding behind the door way and move away as soon as his eyes fall upon them.
A little suspicious of what the two were doing overlooking the room dutta doesn't give it much thought as nakusha rests in an embrace he puts his arms around her.
….
Late evening and as Madhu is about to return to London for a month or so her suitcase packed and ready to go she says fairwell to her loved ones. Amongst patil niwas lounge madhu says her individual good byes, hugging aayi sahab who is upset to see her, go nakusha who smiles with warmth wishing her all the best madhu hugs nakusha and very silently in her whist in an embrace madu reminds nakusha to tell dutta of her pregnancy soon.
Bhabi..aap bhaiyay ko jaldi baata dena ..nakusha nodding resures madu with a smile as she watches her walk away..last but not least to say her fairwells to her brother.
"Muje jaane ki ijaasat dijyey bhaiyay…exams pure hote hein vapas aajaungi."Dutta nodding in approval his eye seem to film at the mention of madhu leaving for some reason madhu presence always meant a lot for dutta. maybe because she was her only blood link to his farther maybe because they had been apart for so long that the thought of more separation seemed testing for both of them now. Always concerned for his sisters dutta gives words of advice to madhu before she leaves.
"Apna khyal rakhna..madhu.."Madu nodding a yes sees her brothers eyes moisten and..she too feels sad approaching him..in almost a rush of emotion..she hugs him tighltly.. holding onto that white kurta of his tightly
Dutta putting his arms around her…slowly..smiles at the way his little sister seemed to act so innocently. It like she didn't want to leave….dutta stroking the back of madhus hair..watches her part from him.. wipe her tears away and smile.
Turning away..with baaji who is about to drop her off to the airport madu walking away with the back to the family to leavethe house..turns in her steps for a second. Turning around..and walking back to dutta..her eyes glow with a certain sparkle as she adds something that makes dutta think.
"Mein toe bhul hein gay thi..Congratulations bhaiya.."Dutta a little confused looks madhu for a second put is unable to question as she turns away in time yet aayi sahab and Nakusha pass some intuitive glances which the rest of the family fail to notice.
Late night and at the dinner table of Patil Niwas, Dutta sitting at the head of the table nakusha sitting to his right and baaji to his left. All three of them eating there meal after baajis return from the airport. Nakusha notices the way baaji is a little quite looking toward baaji nakusha notices the way baaji having his arm in a sling is troubled when eating yet that didn't look to be his ownly problem. His expression looking a little distressed nakusha makes a note. As dutta goes on eating his food in silence..rather relaxed in his white attire dutta looks up from his plate. Having finished his food..dutta resting his arms on the dinner table..putting the finger tips of both hands together in arch looks towards nakusha for a second.
Nakusha gives a thoughtful look towards dutta as he glances over baajis lost expression and then back at nakusha.
Breaking the silence dutta looking towards baaji questions him..
Baaji tune Sia ke baare mein kuch socha..?Baaji again looking a little baffed and lost when sias name was mentioned nakusha was reminded of that day he seemed to have that same distressed reaction. Covering up his distress on the matter, baaji is quick to change his concerned expression.
"Nahin bhau…vakt hein nahin mila…mein soch ke baatayeyga."Dutta nods in acknowledgement, and then leaves the table.
Nakusha noticing that there was something not quite right thinks over both of baajis previous reaction to the talks of his marriage with Sia and his upset nature today. Something didn't seem right.
As nakusha approches baajis room, knocking on the surface of the door that was left partially open. Nakusha looks within the room to see baaji sitting on his bed with his back turned the door. Hearing the knock at the door, baaji gets up from his thoughtful and lost self. Turing around to the door.. seeing nakushas presence baaji brings a pretentious smile to his face. Rustling the back of his hair a little per habit, baaji invites nakusha into the room.
"Naku ..andar aa na"Nakusha smiling walking closer into the room and closer to baajis bedside she takes a seat on the bed and baaji who too sits by her side.
Nakusha looking towards baaji..pauses for a second before ..going into conversation.
"Baaji kya tu sahab ki baat se parishan hai naa?"Baaji still with reams of concern turns his expression to Nakusha. his eyes full of a certain regret as he speaks.
"
Sia atchi ladki hai naku..magar…meine kabi isi aisi nazar se nahin dekha, aur vaise bhi meri zindagi mein..aur koi..aa .." baaji stopping part way as he realizes that he had said to much
Nakusha realizing that baaji had mentioned another girl looks towards him with a certain surprise to her expression.
"Baaji tu kisi aur se pyaar karta hai?"
Baaji pauses for a second turning his expression to nakusha unsure of weather she he should tell her or not baaji eyes begin to take to shade of deeper sadness. Turning to his side a little, reaching for the side table at the bedside, baaji opens the wooden drawer and from inside it takes out what looks like a photograph. Nakusha watches as baaji pulls out a photograph out and seems to look upon it in silence. Unable to see who the photograph was of..nakusha listens to what baaji has to say.
"Pata nahin naku..pyaar kiya..toe bhi..aisi ladki se jiske baare mein muje aisa sochna bhi nahin chahiyey."Nakusha looking a little confused and unaware of what baaji was saying reassures him that if it was true love then it could never be wrong.
"Aisa kyun keh raho ho baaji..ek baar sahab ko is ladki kaa naam batate hai ..woh rishte ki baat karenge. Sahab bas tumari kushi chahte hai baaji."baaji looking at the photograph for a second..thinks over nakushas words but he isn't convinced. "
Nahin naku.. yeh rishta bhau ko mansoor nahin hoga kabhi bhi nahin." Just as Baaji is about to put that photograph nakusha takes it from his hands what she sees shocks her.
The girl in the photograph was Madhu!. A little shocked yet pleasantly surprised nakushas words sound her surpise.
Baaji, madhu?? Kya madhu bhi tujse?? Baaji turns to nakusha with the same concern
.. "pata nahin, mein abhi tak use baat nahin karta bhi kaise.""Aur aisi baat kar ke mein bhau ka apmaan nahin kar sakta naku…ek dost nahin…ek bhai ki tara rakha bhau ne mere ko aur mein. .uski bhen ke saath..pyaar kar behta."Nakusha seeing the kind of feelings Baaji carried she understood his concern and his loyalty to Dutta yet also knew that Dutta was very close to both baaji and madhu and would do anything to see them happy.
"sahab ..tum dono ko bohot pyaar karte hai baaji..agar tum dono ki kushi ek dusre mein hai toe woah mana nahin karege."Putting her hand to baajis shoulder as he turns to nakusha hearing her reassuring words his expression realaxes as nakusha passes a comforting smile.
"Mein sahab..se baat karegi..baaji.."Baaji nodding in a thankful manner his attention is drawn to the entrance of the room when a familiar shadow is apparent. Nakusha noting the way baaji looks past him towards the entrance she too turns to see..dutta standing at the entrance of the room.
His figure tall as dominant as ever his expression questioning, standing with his hands placed behind his back Duttas eyes look upon both Naku and Baaji in suspicion. Nakusha very secretly pushes that photograph to a side.

ok guys so there it is i know what you are going to say you have to wait again for that moment you waited to long for but hang on in there, i think my next chapter might possibly be the conclude to this ff however the good news is i have written the first chapter to my new ff which i will post after this one is complete.
