Thanks for sharing....i always felt that the name nakusha has deeper meaning in this show....she is unwanted by society and her father and now she is unwanted by her husband too(but i so hope its temporary condition) just like Dutta is an apt name for the male protagonist character..Dutta is name of Three headed supreme God. He represents the trinity-Bramha,Vishnu,Mahesh..

In the show, Dutta has a fierce temper for destruction of Shiv,Giving nature of Bramha and a heart of love like Vishnu to nurture his loved one's.

Also the symbolism that he is rich like corseus and lord of his district. everyone in his family give more importance to his..uhhh..tantrums...while nakusha is the servant who idolises and loves him...her sacrifices only make her wanted....even AS wanted her because she was his dhaal...not for herself.

sorry for ranting..but the show is in my blood...

on the article...if people are uneducated and do such things then we can educate them against it...but if educated well to do people are continuing this atrocity then what to do...how can any parent name their child dagadi-a stone, a burden...but then their are ppl who put their girl child to permanant sleep in the womb and sometimes even before she can utter her first cry by drowning them in hot water.

Talk about girls being avatar of Goddess Laxmi....what hypocrisy...

@Shilpita: Very good writeup esp on the meaning of Dutta's name and significance. As for Nakusha...she was unwanted by her family..and later by the society for her ugly looks. But the same Nakusha is very much wanted by her her saab...and thats her victory.

Tanx alot ksh 4 sharing wow it is amazing it was told in the early show that nakusha means the unwanted.
when they where promoting the show i think. but to actually happen in reality it is so sad to prejuduce girl actually given the chance girls r more useful than boys when it comes 2 taking care of the family.
but i feel somehow ltl inspire them imagine how ltl is indirectly making a difference the issue is been looked at great!😊

Hi

I really like the name Nakusha and if I had another daughter I wouldn't mind calling her that, regardless its meaning, She would be very much a wanted child and be proud of it.
The quote by Shakespeare comes to mind:

' What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. '

Wow I had no idea this was a real practice.....quite sad....naming a girl child "unwanted" to mark her with that feeling forever....unbelievable. But ironic....Nakusha is such a pretty sounding name otherwise....so unique.

Thanks for posting.
