Why is it so difficult for Dutta to believe? This is a question I've asked myself a hundred times.

Yes, if it were someone else in his place, the pain he's gone through would have driven them mad. Dutta is still holding on to the vestiges of sanity, thanks to the presence of love in his life. He still hasn't realized it though, that this is where he is drawing strength from.

We humans are fickle when it comes to emotions. And it is the most emotional ones who often fall prey to pain. Dutta is that, an emotional fool. He is not your average superficial male who enjoys female company and can deal with more than one at a time. He is not the emotionless monster he pretends to be either. His greatest flaw is that he feels. He's got the soul of a poet, and every emotion runs deep. And hence the tremors often crack his soul. For a man like this, mistrust is as natural as love or pain. He's been betrayed twice in love, and he has had to deal with the betrayal by his own family. He has had to question his own identity. All these scars will remain forever.

He had learnt to live with his pain by the time Nakusha came into his life. When she told him that his pain found its outlet in anger, it surprised him. For she had told him that which no one else had dared to. She dared to tell him that which he himself had refused to see. Maybe this was why he regarded her a friend. Because she showed him the mirror. And this could be the reason why he decided to give himself a second chance. In his heart of hearts he knew that everything this girl said was right. Of course, he didn't realize that she was what his heart yearned for. And so he gave love a second chance. Only to be spurned again. Now it takes immense courage to get out of your shell and give yourself a chance. And when you're snubbed, you just want to crawl back into that dark little hole and never come out again. This is what is made it difficult for Dutta to believe. He didn't believe himself worthy of love or respect. And yet he yearned for a love that would calm the storm inside him.

When he finally opened his heart, he found that love had been there in front of him all along. His love had been so close that it was when he looked into himself that he found her. This is where his journey ended, he thought. But it wasn't so. For he hadn't yet learnt the ways of love. He wasn't yet ready for it.

Dutta's journey towards faith is full of hurdles. It has always been so. What makes him unique is the fact that he still has the fight in him. All his inner turmoil and anguish signify one thing, he desires love and will find it, one way or the other. Being a cynic doesn't take much, it's believing that requires courage. And Dutta has it in him. Naku's adamant stance is making him re-evaluate his feelings. The skeptic in him urges him to stop, and stay away from love..tells him that it holds only pain. And yet, the believer urges him on, tells him that the world will belong to him, if he endures this pain.

Naku has done everything possible to prove her love. And yet, Dutta refuses to believe in the love he was created for. She has taken a bullet for him, and yet he questions her motives. What is that ONE act that will affirm his faith in her, and his love for her? Or will it be a gradual awakening?

The women in his life have always caused him pain. But this is one woman he will endure pain for. To make this woman his, he will have to walk over the fire of doubt and risk getting burnt. For deep in his soul, he knows that he belongs to one woman alone. He has been created to love her.

Sorry for the rant...☺️

Exactly! He's not your average dude you see today who flit from one relationship to another. He wants that one eternal love and nothing less. In a way he is old fashioned...holding dear old values. But thats how he is. He wants all or nothing.

I have asked the exact question to myself again and again..But alas,I have no answer.
Many people who watch the show but don't really see it say why is dutta so angry because she is pretty. he should be happy that his wife is beautiful.
I ask them,'is love that superficial? should he really forget and forgive because she is beautiful? is it really unjustified that he finds it hard to accept that the girl he married twice, risked his heart and life for, faught with his family for, for whose happiness he changed the very esscence of himself, has lied to him.the girl he dreamed of to start this new life with and the girl living in his room now are two different person. how can anyone accept this change in matter of few hours?'
The rage and frustration we see in dutta today is very natural to me..My father told me story of his college friends marriage. the guy was shown the picture of a very pretty fair girl but at the wedding they saw that the bride was different, a dark not so beautiful girl. the villagers would not have let the groom and barat go without wedding, hence the guy had to marry the girl under pressure. he came back to college but didn' talk about the incident and didn't go back to his natives for many years after that. I asked my dad what happened then, your friend seems to be a shallow guy. he said he would or would not have married that girl if they had spoken the truth, that's true.but like all the girls, boys too have their dreams about a new life. its not that he was cheated and made to marry a dark girl, it was the shame and insult he had to bear at his wedding. every person in the village knew about his plight and were laughing at him and his helplessness. the happiest day of his life was turned into a public humiliation.
Dutta is not just angry that nakku is beautiful. he is angry that he married a lie while all his family, friend and relatives knew the truth. the girl who had once asked him to share his pain so that he felt better had kept her pain and truth hidden from him.
He feels cheated now and i say he has every right to feel so. He's reluctant to express his love again, his actions of helping her with water, asking her if she' ok aftr her fall, his hesitation to pick her up, his almost forced walk to the OT, his holding her hand after deliberation. they all potray that he is at war with himself and is afraid to express his love to this new person.
He would not realize that this is the same girl suddenly one fine day. He would need to find the similarities between them slowly and gradually. and once he sees the two woman as one, he has to learn to fall in love with her all over again. trust her again and forget his humiliation of that one night that was supposed to be hislife's happiest night and salvation. he has to find a new salvation in this new face that can only happen once he comes out of his rage and humiliation.
Sorry..i rambled on..

Yes, he's a one woman man! Hopelessly old fashioned when it comes to love. Which is why Dutta Shriram Patil is a gem! 😊

Bang on, Shilpita!! My roomie asked me the same qtn, as to why he can't accept her now that she's beautiful. I gave her the same answer. That D isn't superficial or shallow. Just a pretty face will not move him. It's the heart that has always mattered to him.
I'm guessing it'll be a gradual process. And he's already started moving in the right direction. Jaana jogi de naal proved it. 😉 Now the question is, how long?
And yes, there has to be one definitive moment where he realizes he's fallen for her; heart, body and soul. There has to be something as beautiful as the Ambar song, a realization of sorts.
