"Mumma! You said we gonna go in water!"

"I said, later" I snapped.

"No! Me wanna go, now!"

"Where does she want to go?" Dutta sauntered towards us with his hands in the pockets of his trousers, and his T-shirt loosely tucked in it, his hair a scraggly mess.

"You've just woken up?"

He nodded, "Yep. Went out partying last night. After all, tomorrow is the day Ayi's going to come, and it was the last night for me to completely enjoy" He chuckled.

"I thought you loved your mother extremely."

"I do-" he was cut off by Anu's shrill scream.

"Anu! What's wrong?" he knelt down before her and pulled her closer, "Tell me what's wrong?"

"Mumma won't take me in water!" she sobbed, flicking her fringe away from her eyes.

He looked at me with mock horror and exclaimed, "Haw, Nakusha, how dare you lie to my dear Anu?"

I chewed the inside of my cheek and ignored his remark, "Stop it now, Anu. I promised that I will take you, na?"

"Come on, I will take you to my pool" He held her hand and stood up.

"Hold on! Don't you want to see my designs?"

"Leave it here, I will see when I have time. Now you come as well." He grabbed my hand and interlaced his fingers through mine, dragging me and Anu to a door, "We have an underground hall, with a swimming pool and spa"

"I know"

"And I know you know" He led us down the stairs into a musty room with no light.

"I hope there aren't any cockroaches in this place!"

"It changes completely, doesn't it?" He turned the light switch on, and enveloped the room with fluorescent light, emerging from several different directions.

"Sorprendente!" Anu whispered.

"Yeah'amazing, isn't it?" The corner of the room was cosily laid out with aromatic candles, flower petals, scented and essential oils; the whole lot. Beams of light were causing the bean-shaped pool to dazzle; a hot tub stood to another side of it.

"You like it?" Dutta grinned.

"Yep. It doesn't look as good on the floor plan as it does in reality."

"Did you bring your swimmers?"

"Ahaan"

"Then.."

"I'll go get them!" I smiled and started to go upstairs. I never realised, at that time, that he had lightened my mood as fast as, or possibly quicker than Tina could ever possibly cheer me up.

(DUTTA)

I told my feet to take me downstairs. I was too hung over and sleepy to realise that it wasn't possible. She just had to come and ruin a perfectly nice dream, didn't she? Wait, what was the dream about? I yawned and pondered about it. I remembered when I was half way downstairs. It was about her. Black hair, fair skin, blue eyes. She was wearing a salwar kameez, like the first time I had met her.

Anu's crying brought me out of my world. I didn't like to see her cry. I didn't like to see her mumma cry, either. Anu wanted to go somewhere. Where?

Naku asked whether I had just woken up. Now I had to explain the most obvious of things to her?

"Yep. Went out partying last night. After all, tomorrow is the day Ayi's going to come, and it was the last night for me to completely enjoy" He chuckled.

"I do-" Anu started shrieking like the witches in those horror shows. Gah! My head!

I crouched down to her level and tried to get her to shut the f*** up. Nicely, of course. She wanted to go to the pool. So be it, if it would make her quiet. I took them both to the basement/pool and spa, and the result made me forget my headache for a few seconds. A happy sparkle in each of their eyes; an enlightening smile on their faces. I ordered chamomile tea for myself as soon as she left. I didn't like to drink that stuff unless I was sick. Chamomile tea and Lavender essential oil, Aayi said that it works for headaches.

"Dutta, you ready?" She came forth with a sarong style skirt wrapped over her one-piece swimming costume, and Anu prancing behind her in a pink dress-style costume.

"Uh..hold on" I quickly changed and came back out again.

She'd taken off the sarong and was now in her one piece. A turquoise one-shoulder one, and one side of her waist revealed. I couldn't help but gawk at her figure, but she didn't notice, and continued blowing air into the floaties.

I dived into the water, my eyes still fixated on her. She smiled and stepped into the water too, Anu in her arms.

(Nakku)

Anu was excited and squealing even before we went into the water. Dutta dived first, sleek and graceful, like a dolphin. I stepped into the water with Anu in my arms. As much as I wanted to bomb dive, I was too scared that Anu might try and go to the deep side by herself. Anu anchored her legs around my waist, and propelled her amrs in circles, making the water splash everywhere. We screamed in unison, and Dutta looked at us from time to time, amused. He swam towards us when I yelled at Anu to stop sprinkling the water in my eyes. He was silent; and I was still. Anu continued splashing water and kicking her legs. He touched my bare waist, and pulled me towards him. I was stunned by the playfulness in his eyes as I came closer to him. How dare he..? Yet, I didn't pull away. He was still staring directly at me, and I was too afraid to break his concentration, at whatever he was staring so intensely at; I knew I would have to make him let go of me, then. He reached for Anu's arm and picked her up, releasing me at the same time as he swung her up onto his shoulders. I sighed and closed my eyes, feeling numb; emotionless; at peace.

(DUTTA)

I knew I scared her, or frightened her, or shocked her; whatever. I was just going to play with Anu, that's all, but it became a staring competition. It was her fault, anyways, because if she wears those skin-showing clothes, who wouldn't be tempted to touch, and own? I frowned inwardly at my own thoughts; I shouldn't be thinking like that, it wasn't right. The dream had been about her too, her dancing, her laughing, her crying.

This day, this moment had left me with some feeling that I couldn't decipher.

I should've known. I think I did. I think I love her.

I love Nakusha'possibly.
