Yup, the focus of all his actions is that she did not tell him. It begins and ends with that. He is not at a point where he can figure out why the soot? He is just trying to find out why she didnt tell him?
I think the answer to that is in that Daru ka adda scene - in the DP track:

Naku: "Jab aap rishta hi tod doge, to koi kaise sach batayega?"

Any person in Naku's shoes, would have faltered, yes she had her chances, but come on, Dutta is like a atom bomb, explode at the slightest touch.

Dutta seems to remember all random dialogues from people, cant he remember this one?

Though I agree that his word were harsh, rude and crude....

Calm down people! Why are you getting so worked up because of his drunken ramblings??He just wanted to hurt her by saying the most abominable things...that's it! I do not in any way condone whatever Dutta is saying or doing to Naku these days...but I can see where he's coming from. He has proved it irrefutably by his actions that a person's background doesn't matter to him! I'll go by his deeds, rather than what he rants under the influence and in an extremely vulnerable state of mind!
